Description of Work: They provided several services: fixed a plugged drain in upstairs bathroom, checked all drains in the house to make sure they were okay, installed a new kitchen faucet, replaced several water shutoffs in the house that were old and hard to use, replaced main water shutoff to the house, repaired hot water handle in bathroom, drained hot water heater and added a water shut off and easy hose attach so we could drain it ourselves in the future.

Description of Work: Opened clogged basement drain. Employee was very nice, knowledgable and efficient. He put a part on my drain to allow easier access for clean out in the future, at no cost. Total work time was one hour, cost $219. I'm very satisfied.

Description of Work: Called Hope to diagnose and repair water heater. Water Heater was four years old. Informed needed new water heater. Asked if line to water heater could be clogged. Was told no. Estimate for new water heater was very high. Called another company and had water heater replaced. After new water heater installed, new heater didn't function. Tech found clogged water intake line. Bought a new water heater for no reason. Feel I was not listened to by techs. Even said I had gone on YouTube to check out why poor hot water output and saw video where line was clogged. They were obviously there to sell me a hot water heater if I need one or not. The techs spent more time in their truck writing out an estimate than troubleshooting my water heater. I can't say for sure I was taken advantage of because I am a female and an older female at that... but I suspect that was the issue. I'm not saying I won't use Hope again, but only if the one plumber that I have had good experiences with in the past is sent out... I made a request for this plumber and was told he would be the one who made the call and he wasn't. I know if he had come, I wouldn't have been ripped off. The guys that were sent out were incompetent.

Description of Work: I can't answer some of the questions as I don't remember when they came to my house sometime in the early fall of 2014, I think. I don't remember the cost. I remember hearing so many wonderful things about Hope plumbing but I'm not sure why. Not that they didn't do what I needed they just seems so limited in what they were willing to do. For example, changing new faucets and other small things.

Description of Work: I have used Hope Plumbing for 5 years now. I own a 6-unit apartment building and until January 2016, a duplex house, both were built in the 1920's and are in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood. Hope Plumbing is provides excellent service for these old places, and I use them for repairs large and small at both of my rental properties. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: We needed a tub drain replaced for a tub they installed previously for us. |They had to leave a get the part and quoted us $525 for the worst case scenario. He did not need the worst case scenario part after all and was able to remove plug and fix it and then charged $396.00 He did not give us a quote for the best case scenario. We called feeling this was too high for the time spent actually in the bathroom (15-20 minutes total) and was told this was a "standard box charge". We have used Hope for numerous projects in the past and always sung their praises and referred them. However it looks like all good things must come to an end. We feel that it is possible that since we purchased a "deal" from angies list for $200 labor for only $100 that they simply inflated the cost. If every home visit is a "standard box charge" of $396 they won't stay in business long.

Description of Work: My wife came home to a double kitchen sink which would not drain. We called a couple plumbing services, and Roto-Rooter eventually came out and diagnosed our problem as a clogged garbage disposal (which hadn't been functioning for some time). Roto-Rooter said that they could snake the clogged drains, but we never were given a quote for replacement of the garbage disposal. | |After waiting for Roto-Rooter to get back with me, I saw that Hope Plumbing had a special to replace a garbage disposal on Angie's List. I called them and the representative said that someone could be out the next day. | |Two Hope plumbers arrived on time the next day, and offered an estimate on replacing the garbage disposal, snaking the clogged drains, and fixing a couple other more minor plumbing issues we had. I approved the work to be done and the Hope plumbers had my garbage disposal replaced and functioning, and my kitchen sinks draining properly within hours. They came back in a couple days (as agreed) to complete the other plumbing issues for us. | |I found Hope Plumbling personnel to be professional, prompt, courteous, and service-oriented. I would not hesitate to use them in the future or to recommend them to friends and family.

Description of Work: They replaced and re-routed a sink drain line, which was more complicated than it sounds because it's a quirky old house. They did the job quickly and effectively. I only wish they had taken a little more time with surrounding details. I was left with more clean-up to do than seemed usual, they didn't re-install the sink drain lever, and when I went to patch the drywall (we had agreed in advance that I would do my own patch) I found I had to enlarge the hole to expose enough lath to patch onto, which they could have anticipated, and perhaps have saved me some of the original lath pieces to work with. None of this detracts from the quality of the actual plumbing work, and I would hire them again for their price and quality of their work in the areas that really matter.
