Holt Restoration

A complete home owners NIGHTMARE! Granted, there were a couple of times work could not be performed due to weather conditions. However, the delays, the lack of communication between the supervisor and the crew, substandard quality of work, (one set of steps had to be completely busted up and redone because one step was 3" & another was 9"!), and damage to property made this an experience I would not care to repeat. Our driveway was damaged by one of the trucks which ran over our brick edging by the driveway and damaged the asphalt, the front and side of our house had to be repainted due to concrete mix that was splattered onto the siding and could not be washed off. This underlines the lack of foresight and preparation to protect surroundings from potential damage. Siding and doorway transition piece were damaged during removal of old wrought iron rail, and front yard, which we worked so diligently to maintain, has been damaged. Workers frequently left litter, i.e. cigarette butts, empty water bottles and plastic wrappers strewn about. The inspections I had to perform when work had been done were arduous but necessary since I would inevitably uncover flaws left behind. I felt like I should have received a discount for having to inspect and report work inconsistencies. I did communicate to the supervisor that I felt like I was having to do something that was part of his job. I would always text or have a conversation with Brandon, the project supervisor expressing my concerns and findings. And while he was always polite and professional, there seemed to be issues communicating the need for consistent, quality work to the team. Over a month.......and the 8X12 porch was FINALLY finished!!! I can say without hesitation that I will NEVER LET THIS COMPANY NEAR MY HOUSE again. It's going to be a long time before I take on another home project and I will most definitely be doing my homework before I hire the next contractor.

They were on Angie's List. They did a great job. They were recommended to us by our insurance company, but then we also checked them out on Angie's List. The price wasn't cheap. They were very easy to work with and very professional. They were very helpful in helping us make the decisions that needed to be made. With regard to price, we had another estimate on the house. They were definitely within line there. They also had a better recommendation than the other company.

We awoke on a Saturday morning to water rushing into our basement. Discovered a water main break. I called Holt. I was able to connect directly to Brandon. He was able to get his crew out within 2.5 hours to set up 6 fans and a large humidifier in our basement. He also found a mechanical company to repair the water main break within 8 hours of receiving our call. On a Saturday to get us back into our home in less then 8 hours, very impressive. All his crew were professional and courteous. I didn't know this company before I called them but Brandon made me feel like he really cared about getting our family back in our home ASAP. Holt was also able to professionally clean our carpets after all was dry. Brandon worked well with our insurance claims adjuster to make sure all the invoice was covered by insurance. Adam is a real nice guy too and knows his craft.

We had roof damage from the heavy snow. A limb damaged a shingle allowing the melting snow to leak into the house. There was significant water damage to two interior walls the ceiling and the carpeting. Holt was initially quick to respond and came out the same day we called and stopped the water from coming in. The guy who came out did not have the equipment to start drying the room out. The came back 3 days later and set up the driers and humidifiers. At first they seemed ok, they came out everyday and checked on the rooms. After 7 days the picked up the equipment. Once the equipment was removed we noticed that their humidifier had left a stain on the carpet. We called about it but they blew us off and did not attempt to make things right. We had asked them several times for a quote on the repairs but never received one. We had to call multiple times before anyone would call back. When we finally received an invoice we had questions about the high price and asked them again about the carpet stain. They adjusted the invoice by adding charges to clean the carpet. While I appreciate the quick response, I feel like once they had use their quality of service went way down., We never did get an estimate on the repairs, but we would not have used them anyway. I will not use them again and would caution anyone else from using them.
