There is a good reason that Dave and his crew are one of the top companies on Angie's List. From start to finish, he was professional, offering recommendations when I asked but not pushing anything I didn't want. He helped me surprise my wife with the countertops and sink replacement, and she was completely blown away with both his recommendations and work (check out the before and after pictures I've uploaded, and you'll see why). I really appreciated his feedback on granite color (not too close to the cabinets or they'd blend too much, sufficient variety to pop out), and I actually chose the one he initially recommended. He knows what he's doing. Though we hit a couple of snags after his crew finished (i.e., the water inflow to the dishwasher wasn't re-connected, and the company forgot to send the grids with the sink), he was faithful about promptly e-mailing how he'd address all of it, and he had the grids shipped directly to us. Like his Q&A sheet says, he's not satisfied until the client is satisfied. Bottom line: you will not regret hiring Dave and his crew to do the work in your house. We would definitely use him again.

Dave has installed tops for me in my last two homes. He has done bathroom and kitchen tops. His crew is excellent. they came in, removed the old tops, installed new ones and left my home cleaner than when they arrived. I recommend him to all of my friends.

I called Dave to repair the seam in our granite which was installed by a company that is now closed. He did not hesitate to help us. He arrive on time and fixed the problem quickly and to my satisfaction. I would use him again if I need any other granite repair or a new install.

From my initial contact with the company through the completion of the project every step of the way was handled in a very professional manner. He's incredible! He does a lot of good work. He's very resourceful and doesn't seem to waste any of his material. He's able to make one slab go a long way in many different rooms.

They had a good price and a good cut on the granite itself. I picked out a slab that had carbon deposits and they were able to work around that. The installation process went well. I did some cost comparison and they were very competitive.

Dave made this a stress-free process from start to finish. He has handouts that explain everything but makes himself readily available to answer any additional questions. He was also very patient and helpful as we chose our granite, and kept everything moving ahead. We thought his price was fair for the quality of the material and his excellent craftsmanship. .He is extremely professional. He is like a gentle giant. He knows his profession well. He answered every question I had and more. He was willing to help me with other areas of granite that I had in my house. He came out with his crew and they were done within a couple of hours. I understand it can usually take 3-4 weeks to get granite in and I had mine within a week. He walked me around and talked about each granite slabs that I had questions about. He gave me his opinion of how each would work and how it would look on my counters. He was wonderful. I can't give him nothing but a great rating.

Excellent experience. It was about 10 days from the time we contacted Dave until the counter tops were installed. Other estimates were 3 or 4 weeks. We went out to the wholesaler to pick out our slab, and Dave gave a recommendation that would look good with our cabinets, and he was spot on. Removal of the old counter tops and installation of the new was about 2 - 3 hours, with no mess. Will definitely use GBD again in the future.

Dave was wonderful, came to the house for the estimate, met us at the granite supplier and was extremely helpful in choosing our color. He came to the house again and made the template on time as scheduled. Arrived the day of installing with his crew and they went to work. The granite was installed and the clean-up done and we couldn't have been happier with the finished product. Dave was wonderful and we would highly recommend him.

Our experience with Granite by Design was excellent. The proprietor, Dave Esslinger, was a pleasure to interact with from the very first meeting. The fabrication and fit of our countertops are beautiful and we recommend Granite by Design without hesitation. There are several aspects that we would like to highlight because he really excels in these areas. When we asked for a bid, he made the effort to come out to our house and look at our job in detail. Some other fabricators do the bid by fax or e-mail, which can lead to surprises. Along with that visit, he asked if he could inspect the slabs we were interested in to alert us to problems that might reside with the individual slabs and offer gratis consulation on the materials. We obtained several other bids and it became clear that we wanted to do business with Granite by Design. Dave pays attention to details that are easy to overlook and we'd point out two in particular. One of our slabs had a very dynamic pattern. In the process of cutting out the various pieces, an installation can look excellent or be compromised based on how well the pattern in the granite along a cut edge is matched with a piece cut from elswhere in the slab to create a seam that is as invisible as possible. Dave spent more than an hour with us working our the seam matches and they turned out great. Secondly, on the subject of seams, I find that they are fairly visible on most countertops that I look at. Granite by Design has special equipment for joining the seams without filler of any kind so that they are as 'seamless' as possible. You really don't want any other type of seam. Most folks can't spot our seams unless we point them out. Installation was efficient; clean-up was very good. We needed one service call. This occurred promptly, and Dave insisted that he was not done until we were satisfied. We hired him to make a coffee table and some wall tile out of remants. He pulled off some impressive farbications of both the table top and the tiles. We were delighted with these as well.

We found Dave through Angie's List. He was the only quote we obtained. We based our decision to use him on the wonderful reviews of his service. We wanted to have a granite top added to a custom grill island on our outdoor porch. We also needed 4 post caps on the posts attached to our deck railing (approx. 12 in. squares). Dave referred us to one of his granite suppliers and we were able to find a damaged piece of granite that worked beautifully with our colors. Dave was wonderful to work with and supervised the installation. Everything went very smoothly. We appreciated his attention to detail. The backsplash was cut to match the pattern of the granite top. Also, as a bonus surprise gift, he made a lazy susan for us that is perfect and is much appreciated! He also provided written instructions on the care of the granite. We were pleased with the process from start to finish. Dave went above and beyond our expectations. We intend to replace our kitchen countertops next year and look forward to working with Dave on the project. I would recommend him without any hesitation.

He met me at the place I purchased the granite and provided a lot of personal attention. He was very good at educating me on the process and walking me through what I needed to do. He wasn't the lowest price that I was quoted, but was one of the lowest. He was very professional and courteous.

The entire experience with Dave was superior. From the initial phone call to the final result, we could not be more impressed. Dave came out right away to give a quote and informative instructions on how the entire process of installing granite counter tops works. Another company we had out to give an estimate wasn't able to take out the counter tops and there was an issue with a corner cabinet that seemed "complicated." The "complicated" corner garage wasn't an issue for Dave. We could tell that Dave knew what he was doing and appreciated his patience with all our questions. The entire process was smooth and our kitchen looks wonderful!

As others have pointed out, Dave provides top-notch service for his customers. The granite countertops that he fabricated look beautiful. He does a great job explaining the process and is not pushy in any way. He offers great suggestions and does a great job from the day he walks in your door for the initial estimate all the way until installation is complete. My wife and I were very pleased with the whole process.

Look no further for the person to install your new countertops. I felt like we were treated as family by Dave from start to finish. He met us at the supplier to help us select our slabs and we never felt rushed or pushed. He will give you his expert opinions when you need them. Another installer we talked to was more expensive and wouldn't meet us at the supplier. We felt lost. Quick and clean installation. Even used a little left over granite and gave us a bonus lazy susan! Like I said, look no further.

He was great. He was very personable and meticulous. He took us out and showed us all of our different choices. He let us make the decision ourselves instead of restricting our choices. We would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary.

He looked over our house and provided great suggestions conducive to our lifestyle. He actually gave the estimate on site, which was very nice. While we haven’t followed through with the project yet, he’s certainly in the running.

We had been casually shopping at the big box stores for countertops to replace our old formica ones. It seemed like the price really added up beyond materials so we procrastinated. I decided just for the heck of it to check Angie's List and saw all the positive reports for Granite by Design. We figured it wouldn't hurt to get an estimate. Dave came to the house, answered our questions and provided an estimate. The price was better than the big box stores. We were amazed but felt confident that it would be quality work because of the Angie's List reports. As others have said, Dave was invaluable in when shopping for the granite. Dave was always clear about the steps in the process and provided paperwork that was understandable, complete, and short! Dave met or beat the time estimates he provided and everything moved at a good pace. We also really appreciated that he was willing to communicate by phone or email. We are so in love with the new countertops that I told Dave meals have gotten longer so we can spend more time in the kitchen admiring them.
