Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical

My furnace had gone out and I called Godby on a recommendation from a friend. The technician called me prior to arriving to make sure I was at home and he arrived right when he said he would. After looking at my furnace, he gave me a thorough explanation of the problem which gave me confidence that I had a very knowledgable company in my corner. After getting my approval, he fixed the problem and left the place cleaner than when he arrived. At no time did I feel pressured to buy something I did not need - which was refreshing. And, I feel that the pricing was fair. I would whole-heartedly recommend Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical.

Service man arrived as scheduled, went about his work in a professional way, & answered my questions.

Dwayne arrived on time, was professional and completed the work in a timely fashion. He found and replaced a broken capacitor.

Jason Huxley came out and diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He seemed to know what he was doing and was very pleasant to work with.

Of course this happened as I was in Bloomington at Little 500 and my wife was at home preparing for a very large party we were hosting the next afternoon. She called me with some serious panic in her voice and then she called Gary. He was so helpful via the telephone without even seeing it. He gave her a couple suggestions over the phone and we stopped using all the H20 in the master bathroom per Gary. Leak stopped and saved us a big "emergency fee". Gary came out Monday or Tuesday and ascertained it was simply bad caulking in the shower/tub that was allowing water to get behind and drip down into the basement ceiling. Get the it re-caulked. Problem solved. Something that we could have been "taken to the cleaners" price was was less than $100 to solve because of Gary's honesty and integrity. I know Godby's employ many more like Gary so kudos to them.

They are very responsive and prompt when you have a problem. I had a big problem with them but they came back around and fixed what was wrong ultimately and did a great job. They were willing to correct the situation that was not okay.

They replaced the igniter for me. They kept installing parts that did not work, so they had to come back several to correct the issue. It took about 3 weeks to get it all corrected.

I have always been happy with their services. I would grade them an A.

I have used Godby previously for annual service on my furnace and they also installed a new air conditioner last year. I have been pleased with their work in the past. I called on a Monday afternoon when I noticed a bit of rust colored water around the bottom of my water heater. I decided to replace it before it went out. I called Godby and they said they would send a heating crew the next day to install my new water heater. The two people they sent arrived on time, but took 5 hours to install the water heater. They were not very professional while there, cursing loud enough to be heard. When they left, they left dirt and cigarette marks on my carpet and solder all over the floor of my utility area. About an hour after the installation was complete, I happened to go back to the utility area, where I noticed water spraying from the water heater and going all over the floor. Despite taking 5 hours to install the water heater, the installers had not properly soldered the joints, which leaked. I called Godby and insisted they send a plumber to fix it, which they did within an hour. It was repaired properly, but the entire experience was a huge hassle. Plus, had I not checked after the installation, I would have had a flooded basement... exactly what I was trying to avoid by replacing my water heater before it failed. I did not hear from anyone at Godby after all of my problems.

Wonderful experience. They sent two guys to do the job which took most of the day. Both guys were very knowledgeable and courteous. I love the new tankless water heater! It's a lot more expensive upfront but much cheaper over time with the energy savings. I price shopped a lot of places and they were the best deal in town. I'll definitely do business with them in the future.

We have a contract with them. They have done a great job. They have replaced two of our heat pumps and HVAC systems in the house and we have been very pleased with them.

I had five different quotes and they were the lowest. I also liked the features of the furnace that they were talking about.

I am extremely happy with the service and product they installed. My old heat pump went out and they were able to take care of me quickly and were very easy to work with in regards to scheduling and estimating the cost of the job. I received quotes from several other companies, but Godby had the best price for the best equipment and their sales and installation folks were extremely friendly. No aggressive sales pitch, but they were more helpful in laying out my options and what the best fit was for us. As far as the work, they were really careful about covering our floors and being clean and neat during the install. when it was all said and done, everything was actually cleaner and neater than it was before the installation. The equipment they installed is awesome - it actually adjusts the humidity on it's own to maximize the air comfort in the home. I am truly a happy customer - i would recommend Godby and their equipment to my family and friends.

The Technician came out to check on the operation of the Air Condition and found that it was leaking. It wasn't until a year had gone by that he came back to check it after we paid a fee to get it check at his technician urging. I had complained the after the first check that the house seem not to be as cool as it had been before the first check. This time he tells me the coil inside of the Furnace was leaking and he would need to order a new one which would be covered by the warranty but that it will cost us $900.01 for labor and refrigerant.

They are efficient and are clean and also clean up after themselves. They seem to have the skill to get the work done.

They were prompt. They had a special going on at that time and they were able to come quickly to fix our issue.

It's possible we may call them in the future. We were extremely pleased. The price was reasonable. They did what they told they were going to do in timely fashion and it was done right. We loved our furnaces. They were very nice people to have in our home.

We were happy with them. They were timely, cleaned up and did a good job. They communicated well beforehand on what they were doing because they had to tie it into our house. They had to go under a porch and into the basement. They did what we wanted them to do.

Originally it was supposed to be about $360 and it ended up being over $800. The materials only cost about $50 so how the price got to $800 is beyond me. The work took 5 hours and the cost was MUCH more than they had initially stated. I got a second opinion on price from my plumber after the job was completed and he said he could've done the job for less than $300. The guy that I dealt with, Matt, ended up calling me a few days later and apologized for charging me so much. They were very kind and professional but their pricing was outrageous!

Gary was on time and professional. He explained the issue I was having was due to a broken pump in the downstairs bar. Finished the replacement in a timely manner.

Russell was on time and professional. He figured out that the sump pump in the bar was faulty causing the lights to go out. I never would have figured that out. Very grateful for his help.

The salesman, Carl, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He walked me through all my options to fit my budget constraints and answered all my questions. The installation was scheduled for 12/30/10 to meet the deadline for the federal tax credit. The installers arrived right on time and wore paper booties when they were in the house. They were courteous, professional, and seemed to work efficiently. When finished, they cleaned up all the mess and explained the thermostat, filter location, and any other information I needed. I was completely satisfied by my experience and would use this company again as well as recommend them to others.

Plumber did a great job replacing our failing sump pump and installing a new water heater. When he tested the water heater, he saw that it was not venting correctly. We had had several technicians tell us the gas wasn't venting correctly, but no one knew what the problem was. Godby's technician would not leave until he found out what the issue was because it wasn't safe in the house. He did some investigating and found an animal nest in one of the outgoing pipes was blocking the air flow. As soon as it was removed, everything was fine. I was impressed that he actually took the time to find out what the problem was when several others did not. We continue to use Godby for our household repairs and service.
