It went well. The company had a quick response and was able to send an electrician to us the following day. He explained what he needed to do. This meant contacting IPL to cut our power before replacing the box and contacting them again at the end of the project to get them to turn our power back on. Now we’re up and everything is working again! I would call them again for other electrical issues.

All went very well. A very Professional & Knowledgeable crew that Efficient Systems sent out. Brian and Lawrence worked very hard during this installation (13hours). Brian is a perfectionist. He takes no short cuts although I am sure he could have. He is one of those few people in this world that is very self-conscious about his work. I would also like to mention John New the Operation Manager who came to my house at first and gave me the estimate for the installation of the new furnace/ac. He explained to me in detail the services to be performed and answered any questions that I had. John lived up to his word on all that he said. Even showed up on the day of installation to make sure everything was going well. I am very pleased with Efficient Systems.

The service went well, the technician who came was Brad and he was very nice he called when he was on his way. He checked on the sinks and faucets and then that's the time when he told me that the steam valves needs replacement because it was old and worn out. Brad was very courteous.

Excellent company to work with! I highly recommend them for heating/cooling/plumbing work. I had annual maintenance service on my central a/c unit along with replacing the condenser motor & Capacitor. Heather in the office is very helpful. There always seems to be someone to answer the phone! Rob performed the actual work on the unit. He is awesome! Very professional, trustworthy, and goes the extra mile! He explained everything in laymen terms and made suggestions for the future. Also, they send via email an actual report on how the unit is functioning. I will continue to use them.

I hired Efficient Systems to deal with my water heater in the house I rent out near Garfield Park. The pilot light kept winking out when the burner would quit at the end of a heating cycle. I had pulled my hair out and spent most of three days trying to diagnose and repair the thing myself. They told me it was probably the massive amount of lime in the tank getting too hot and exuding more heat than the pilot light thermocouple could take. That made sense, and it was not worth trying to salvage that water heater, so I had them install a new one. They did it for a flat ~$1350 or so. They installed the water heater, but the two servicemen who came out had a bit of a disagreement about, I'm not sure, timing among other things. They reattached the old overflow pipe, which is too short for code. Also, in attaching the flue they managed to work some mortar patches out of the basement wall, which they left on the floor. The tenant complained to me about the mortar, and I asked them to deal with that and attach a longer overflow pipe, which they did. I have attached the photos that Efficient Systems gave me after the initial install, the photos from the tenant, and the photos after the second visit when they address the flue and overflow pipe problems. I also asked them to replace the old shutoff valve for the house that is aged to the point where it leaks for a while after being used, and while they were at it, to remove the old bypass valve to a departed water softener that some previous owner used to have. I wanted them to install a new shutoff valve with some threaded pipe so that someone in the future could install a new water softener with less trouble than if it was all sweat fitted. Well, they didn't come prepared to do it when they replaced the water heater. I went on a trip to the East Coast for a week, came back, responded to their email quote with specific instructions and a diagram of what I wanted, and got back this little lecture about needing to set up an appointment to come into the office and meet with so and so and then have someone come out and look at things to see how to set up a new bypass valve, which is definitely not what I asked. It was like they had no record of who I was or anything about what I'd already said I wanted. Rather a pain when they'd had two guys working on the water heater, which is literally 12 inches away from the shutoff and bypass, two weeks prior. It's pretty clearly not going to be worth the bother to have them do it at this point; I'll either do it myself or call a regular plumber, probably the former. In all, it seems like the water heater was right in their wheelhouse; simple plumbing modifications, not so much.

Great, even though I didn't need their services. A competitor came out to look and wanted to charge $500 (billed me $50 for est). Richard came out and was a straight shooter...did not need the work done b/c my electrical was already set up with enough AMPs...honest...would hire again for sure!!!!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor, and is the complete opposite of the experience I had with this company when they replaced my entire HVAC system. Their work and my experience with them on my HVAC was great, and was a big reason why I hired them to do the plumbing work. Heather, John, Dustin, and Brian are a pleasure to work with. They were hired to do the work (replacing all water lines, install hook up and drain line for washing machine, and move well pump and pressure tank) March 26-28, and I was told it would take about 3 days. I am remodeling my house. The team that arrived the morning of the 26th were informed when the drywallers were scheduled to begin, that I was going to be out of town beginning 12 April, and that all inspections had to be completed before that date. I was repeatedly reassured that there was lots of time and not to worry. To describe this disaster of a project would take too long, but some key points are: I had to pay an extra $187 for a next-day inspection and $210 for my well company to finish Sean's work because they took 2 weeks to do a 3 day project that at the end of, they admitted they didn't know anything about well pumps and couldn't actually complete the work. Sean is the master plumber. He had no plan, no supplies, and no written instructions for the two guys who were doing the work. (As an aside, these guys were great! They did the absolute best that they could given the awkward position their company put them in. No complaints about them!) Sean did not check in when he said he would. Sean arrived on the morning of the 28th (the day the work was supposed to be completed) to come up with a plan to move forward with the project, left to get supplies (because they had none) and never returned, never called, and when I called the next morning, I was told no one would return until April 2. Sean left for vacation on April 2, so the guys who were working on the project had no one to turn to for questions. On April 3, I was told that they were not comfortable continuing without Sean because they did not know how to move forward. It would be April 10 before Sean would return to my house. As soon as he showed up, I reminded him of the deadline for inspections and that my stress levels were through the roof. He reassured me he'd be done that day. He finishes hooking up all of the lines, but cannot get the well pump to prime, meaning no water. After paying an extra fee for a next-day inspection because of their inability to complete the project in anything resembling a timely manner, the inspection happens on April 11. Plumbing does not pass, but they are able to fix the issue while the inspector is still there. After inspection, Sean tells me that the project "went well", but that he still can't prime the pump, so I'm going to have to call my well company to restore water to my house. The well company comes on April 12, and they find that Sean has the lines connected to the pump backwards, which is why it couldn't prime. They connect the lines correctly, the pump primes immediately, and water is restored to the house. The entire experience was a massive disappointment.

Great. Dustin, the technician, called the morning of the appointment to tell me he was in route and arrived on time. He was very nice, professional and did a great job. I will definitely use the company again. Also, Heather who scheduled the appointment was extremely polite and helpful.

The work went well. We had a little hiccup when the sales manager allowed my mom to prepay for all the HVAC work (usually it's half.) Contacting the owner Sean Smith resulted in return of the check for us to hold until completion. I was very pleased how courteously he listened to my concerns. Work took a little longer to complete the electrical and HVAC testing work because the utility didn't have someone available to restore power on the desired day. A discoverable item was the melted sure protector and they helped me order a new one from the utility. In all the project went well and performs as expected. The owner added clarifying comments to the invoices to assist our homeowners claim.

I have used this business multiple times in the past couple of years and have never been disappointed. This past month I have furnace blower burn out and after replacing numerous other parts of the furnace I decided to have it replaced. Tech came out the next morning and put in a new furnace. I've always found the techs to be extremely knowledgeable and courteous as well as always arriving promptly when they said they would. I would not hesitate to recommend this business to anyone needing furnace/AC repair.

It was very easy to schedule an appointment. Richard, the electrician, arrived right on schedule and fixed the problem in no time! He was very professional and friendly. I would love to get him back whenever I need any electrical work in the house. Thanks Richard!

Called for water leak repair in 1st floor ceiling. Plumber arrived within 45m and was able to find and fix the small leak. Gave a fair warning of cost estimate, time estimates, and possible damage before beginning work. Costs were reasonable and plumber was courteous during visit.

Our initial experience with the plumber with Efficient Systems was great. Because they were not able to come to our home when first requested. They extended the Anglie's List Big Deal to both faucets, front and back which made the replacement $149.00 per each totaling $428. We were really pleased at how they looked and glad that we replaced both since our home is 38 years old. The replacements was invoiced on Sept. 8, 2016. Unfortunately, a short time later and unbeknownst to us because the plumber did not tighten down enough on the connection the valve shot off the faucet and water started to shoot into our crawl space. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the middle of Feb ,2017 when I began to ask why we had such a loud whooshing noise coming from our one vent in our office. Now we know that it was the sound of the water shooting out of the faucet and into our crawl space which was making the sound coming thru the vent. Thankfully, I called in our heating and cooling company who discovered the problem. You can imagine our shock and horror!!! The last year has been filled with multiply mold and remediation companies, a complete mold remediation of our crawl space and working with Insurance companies. I would not wish this experience on anyone!!! The plumber admitted right away that he did not lock down on the valve hard enough which made it come off. When he came back the second time my husband had him install a main line shut off valve which he promptly charged us for. Frankly, in light of the major mistake that he made I felt that he should not have charge us. Unfortunately, my husband paid it.

This fall Eric P. was the technician. He asked questions about the system, but I was not certain. The previous Efficient Systems technician (summer 2017) had taken photos to help determine if there was a heat pump.

OK until the owner pressured me for money before the job was done, and I asked him to explain the charges. He could not explain his own bill, and blamed that on the worker. Payment was demanded nevertheless.

they came out promptly & were very friendly but they were the highest quote we received & when they were charging us for the snake drain & service charge for just coming out, he accidentally charged me twice for the service charge. they were able to refund that back but the service rendered was very unexpected for us anyways & we didn't have much money to work with so we certainly weren't happy that we were charged twice. by the way, the other 4 plumbing companies that came out DID NOT charge us for using the drain or even a service charge to just come to the site. also, we were a little uneasy that the gentlemen admitted that this wasn't his line of work, that he is with the HVAC dept of the company but was the only one available to come out.
