+ -1 moreThe salesman steered me away from replacing my electronic air filter with a regular one. Twice, a filter he recommended did not fit. I would have much preferred to have the electronic air filter replaced with a proper box, and the work could have been completed by now. Instead, I'll be returning to their office for the third time to seek a refund on the second filter that does not fit.
Description of Work: I have a broken electronic air filter. I called to ask for a technician to come to the house and give me a quote on replacing this filter with a regular air filter. The salesman called me to reschedule the appointment, because the time that the secretary had scheduled for him was inconvenient. This was OK, but meant that my wife would be the only one here to deal with the issue. He called me back later to inform me that I would not have to replace the electronic air filter, that I could, instead, simply put a 20x25x5 Air Bear filter (with foam) directly into the existing electronic filter cabinet. I bought the filter from them, and went home to install it. It did not fit by a longshot, so I returned the filter to them. The same salesman who visited assured me that the measurements were wrong, and that a 16x20x5 would work. (I don't believe he ever measured) I reluctantly accepted the exchange, and tried again to install the filter. This time, it slid in to the cabinet, but was several inches too long, and several inches too short. I would have much preferred a refund. Due to the lack of professionalism shown by this particular salesman, I will not use this company again in the future.

+ -1 moreThey were very professional. Rather than just agreeing to do the work immediately they suggested that I have a tub and tile person come out to look at it. They thought that there could be incorrect insulation in the shower pan, so rather than just doing the work they told me to look for a second opinion. They were excellent to work with. They gave me a project estimate when they came out and charged me for the service call. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Village Plumbing came out to give me an estimate on a shower, because I had a leaky drain.

I remember this one incident during a very cold winter when they got somebody out here right before Christmas to fix a problem. They have always been very responsive. I don?t think that we have really checked the price with others because we have had the contract with them for so long, but I would say that their price seems to be competitive.
Description of Work: We have been using Broad Ripple Heating ever since we bought the house - that was about 38 years ago. The air conditioner wasn’t working this summer and so they came out and replaced something.

+ -1 moreAlthough everything didn't turn out as I orginally envisoned, the work done was top notch. The plumbers were friendly and informative as they progressed with the project and provided enough information for me to make decisons on what I wanted them to work on. Although the cost was a bit high, I knew the charges in advance and could have postponed some parts of the project. Bottom line excellent work although a bit pricey - but as they say you get what you pay for - I will use Village Plumbing again.
Description of Work: Installed new bath faucet and shower head (along with new supply valves and riser), installed new bath vanity, sink and faucet (along with supply valves). Note that the faucets and vanity were supplied by me not purchased from Village Plumbing. Replaced stack pipe and drain line from washer . Repalced water heater and water softener (along with some supply piping and supply valves); also installed new utility sink and faucet. Note that the utility sink but not faucet were by me not purchased from Village Plumbing.

+ -1 moreThe leaks occured over a long holiday weekend. The scheduling representative scheduled the visit for the Tuesay following the weekend. John arrived promptly after a telephone call alerting me to his arriveal. He explained the cost and the repair of one leak in detail and was able to repair the leak that day. The other toilet was a rare model from the 1950's that would require a search for parts. He took pictures of the toilet, and contacted his supervisor. he investigated potential sources fo rparts (including contacting the Crane company, no Americna standard.) The company no longer made parts for the toilet, but he was able to find a company that had a part that would work. The ultimate solution of course was to replace the toilet which involved significant re-routing of pipes and re-construction. After consulting with John, we agreed that he would try to repair the leak temporarily ( using modern parts), knowing that it might not work, delaying the replacement until I could save enough money to replace the toilet. John was successful and I am looking forwward to further association with the company when I replace the fixtures.
Description of Work: Two leaks were repaired. A toilet with leak was re-set and sealed. A very old and rare residential wall hung toilet was repaired after exhaustive search for parts. There are no parts available, and the service representative presented all the options and limitations of each and a relative cost.

Description of Work: Once again Village Plumbing comes to the rescue. We had an intermittent and mysterious problem with water leaking into our garage. We finally narrowed it down to an overflow from our water softener connection to the drain. Jim came out and learned that the pipes in the crawl space had expanded and come free from their hangers, creating a water collection point in the dips and making new water back up out in to the garage. he was very careful to fix the problem, much better than before, and gave a good inspection to our crawl space while he was at it. i really like this company. They have always done a great job for us.

We had also purchased a service plan from them that would cover the spring and fall check for the heater and air conditioner.

+ -1 moreWe have a contract with them. So, they are going to come in the next week to check our furnace and our air conditioner. If they find something wrong, then they inform us about it. If it?s a part that has to be replaced, then they replace it by telling us before doing so. The price that they charge is usually very reasonable. They have always been very helpful. The people who come out to get the work done are very nice. They always call us and let us know as to when they would be coming. They also call and remind us when it?s time to have our furnace checked. They ask us as to when we want them to come out. They usually give us a 2 hour window, but they call before they come. You don?t have to keep waiting for them the whole day and they are very good.
Description of Work: I have been using the services of Service Experts for my heating and AC maintenance for many years now. The last time that we used their services was in last spring.

+ -1 moreOur air conditioner was broken and we called the company to repair it. They noted that it would take close to $1000 to fix it, and that it was over 20 years old. As such, we'd be soon be replacing parts often. They also noted that our furnace was over 20 years old and that with the government rebates on upgrading furnaces, we'd save money in the long run by replacing both units now. The company was matching the government rebates and so we did some research on the best units and their prices and found Broad Ripple to be very competitive. With their 0% financing for a year, we decided to take the plunge. On the day of installation, the technicians were there on time, covered all our floors and were kind and courteous. They installed everything in one day. Our home is much more pleasant and with allergies, we will all breathe easier! I recommend Broad Ripple to everyone I know.
