THEY CAME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE AND DID RETURN MY CALL. HOWEVER, THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT WAS TWO WEEKS OUT FOR THE ANNUAL CHECK UP. THEY WERE RUNNING A SPECIAL AT THE TIME FOR NEW CUSTOMERS, SO THAT COULD BE THE REASON FOR THE DELAY. SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY PLEASANT AND THOROUGH.

3RD REPAIRMAN, MICHAEL, WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FAIR.
Description of Work: REPAIRED FURNACE. BAD PRESSURE SWITCH. DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR TOOK 18 DAYS - ONLY COMPLETED BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE CALLS FROM US TO THEM. REPEATEDLY DIDN''T CALL BACK WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. DAY 1 - DAMAGED CONTROL BOARD ON OUR HEATER WITHOUT TELLING US. INSTALLED REPLACEMENT WITHOUT NOTIFYING US OF PRICE IN ADVANCE, & ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE US $483. ALSO REMOVED & REINSTALLED MANY PARTS ON OUR FURNACE IN ATTEMPT TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. JOB NOT COMPLETE ON DAY 1, WANTED PAYMENT ANYWAY, THEN DID NOT MAKE COMPLETING THE JOB A PRIORITY ON DAY 2. SHOWED UP AT 3:00PM, KNOWING THAT WE HAD A 6 DAY OLD INFANT AT HOME AND TEMPERATURES GOT DOWN IN THE 30''S. ON DAY 3, 3RD REPAIRMAN DIAGNOSED PROBLEM, & INSTALLED A TEMPORARY FIX UNTIL CORRECT PART COULD BE ORDERED. ALSO TOLD US THAT MANY PARTS WERE INCORRECTLY INSTALLED, & OLD & NEW CIRCUIT BOARD WERE DAMAGED BY 1ST REPAIRMAN. WE CALLED 12 DAYS LATER, NO PARTS ORDERED FOR US. THEY TOLD US THEY WERE ABOUT TO ORDER A CIRCUIT BOARD

THE NOISE STOPPED FOR ABOUT A WEEK SO THEY SENT THE SAME SERVICE TECHNICIAN, JIM MCKINNY, BACK THE NEXT DAY. HE DISCOVERED A SMALL PIECE OF METAL BLOWING AROUND WHEN THE FAN WAS ON. HE REMOVED AND THE ANNOYING CLINKING NOISE STOPPED. THEY ALWAYS SLIP BOOTIES OVER THEIR SHOES BEFORE ENTERING THE HOUSE TOO.

I WAS VERY HAPPY TO FIND TAKE THEY CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY ON THANKSGIVING DAY, HOWEVER THE QUALITY WAS LESS THAN UP TO PAR. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND MY ROOMMATE HAD TO DEAL WITH BROAD RIPPLE HEATING AND COOLING. THEY JUST TAPPED ON A BUTTON AND TOLD US TO CLEAN THE FILTER. THEY DID NOT REMOVE THE BLACK TAPE FROM THE SAFETY SWITCH AND DIDNT PUT THE CASING BACK ON THE FURNACE. I WAS THE PERSON THEY WERE TALKING TO AND THEY WERE VERY PLEASANT AND QUICK TO RESPOND.

LEROY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM WITH THE FURNACE WITH NO TESTING THAT I COULD TELL. A TECHNICIAN FROM ANOTHER COMPANY WAS ABLE TO CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE IT THAT EVENING, AND REPAIR IT THE NEXT DAY FOR $350, SAVING US FROM BUYING A NEW FURNACE. LEROY SEEMED TO FOCUS ON TRYING TO SELL US A NEW FURNACE. HE REPLACED THE FIRST CIRCUIT BOARD, AND WHEN IT DIDN''T FIX IT, HE COMMENTED THAT WHEN FURNACES BREAK, SOMETIMES A LOT OF THINGS BREAK AT THE SAME TIME, AND THE REPAIRS SNOWBALL, AND RECOMMENDED THAT WE REPLACE THE FURNACE. HE ASSUMED THAT THE OTHER CIRCUIT BOARD WAS BROKEN AS WELL.
Description of Work: LEROY ATTEMPTED TO FIX OUR FURNACE BY REPLACING A CIRCUIT BOARD, WHICH HE THOUGHT HAD GONE BAD BECAUSE IT HAD SCORCH MARKS ON IT. THAT DIDN''T FIX THE PROBLEM, SO HE ASSUMED THAT IT MUST BE THE OTHER CIRCUIT BOARD, WHICH WOULD HAVE RUN THE BILL UP TO $500. HE RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE FURNACE, AND SEEMED VERY UNWILLING TO DO THE REPAIRS.
