Broad Ripple Service Experts

My fiance and I purchased a service agreement with Broad Ripple Heating & Air Conditioning last winter. Last December, our first furnace inspection needed to be rescheduled because of a cancellation on their part. (The rescheduled inspection occurred after our coupon expired, but the company still honored it.) Our spring AC inspection date was recorded wrong in their calendars, but caught in time. However, upon the correct date, the service person never showed up to inspect our AC. I took a half day off work for nothing and was simply asked if I'd like to reschedule. I do not know if we will renew our service agreement and I have serious doubts as to whether I would use this company if anything breaks down. At this point, they have not proven to be reliable.

Jim & Russel worked as a team to install the equipment. They arrived on time and completed the work in one day. They were both very professional. The quality of installation was outstanding. The area was spotless when they left.

We used this company because it was the one authorized by the homeowner's warranty on our house. We were quite pleased with the work, but wish they could have done the work sooner. We called Wednesday noon when we discovered the leak and couldn't get an appointment until Friday. Originally the company said they would come around noon, but we got a call before 8 a.m. saying they would be at our house within an hour. The repairman arrived shortly before 9 and was finished by 10:30. He was pleasant and professional.

I thought he was very good. He called before he came and came when he was supposed to. He was very professional and did a good job.

Job 1: We had a window of 4 hours for the service call. Sometime between 10 AM & 2 PM which I thought was a little too large of a window. They called as promised as the service technician, Jason, was leaving their office. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, & easy to work with. I am very satisfied with the work that was done & signed up to have the furnace inspected this fall prior to the winter heating season. Job 2: At 7:01 AM they called & said they would send Jason out to check the airconditioning unit & would call me back when he was on his way. They call back a few minutes later & advised he was on his way. He arrived shortly after, quickly recognized that the compressor wasn't coming on & located a burnt wire that he replaced. A less reputable company could have easily said that the unit need replaced due to its age! By 7:50 AM we have our air conditioning up& running again for a 15 minute charge of $29.00! Our prayers were answered. Thanks Jason for your quick, honest service.

Extremely professional and friendly. Did exactly what they said they would do in the time period that they promised. I'd recommend them highly for any plumbing job!

The plumber tried first to see if it wasn't just a matter of adjusting the existing valve. When that didn't work, he changed it after telling me what he was going to do and the type of valve he would replace it with. Our house is old and he was mindful of the fact that the valves are also old when it came to shutting the water off, and opted for closing the outside main valve.

Quick and thorough. Knew their stuff.

After a hail storm damaged our air conditioner, we contacted Broad Ripple Heating and A/C to come out and inspect the unit. They determined that the damage was too extensive to repair, therefore the entire unit would have to be replaced. When we contacted our insurance company, they had many questions about the work that needed to be done. Larry Howald at Broad Ripple gladly contacted the insurance adjuster and explained the work that was needed to install the new A/C unit. After the insurance claim was approved, the work was scheduled and completed in a very timley manner. The installation team did a great job and were very professional. We appreciate all the help from Larry and everyone at Broad Ripple to make this a quick and painless process.

Our service provider, which is not BR Heating & AC, had recommended to replace our 18-year old furnace because of some hairline cracks in the heat exchanger. We met with Jade, the sales rep, a few days after we contacted BR Heating & AC for a quote. I had made it clear that we did not need or want a top-of-the-line product. The two furnace models he suggested met our needs perfectly and it was a pleasure dealing with him. Not pushy at all and very well informed. The installation took place a few days later. The installers were on time and very friendly. They finished the work ahead of schedule and cleaned everything up. We are very pleased. Obviously, we won't know how well the new furnace will be performing until later this year. Unfortunately, BR Heating & AC can't match the maintenance service agreement that we have with our current provider (we are grandfathered in). Otherwise, i would have switched.

Other than slight mix up in which date they were coming, service was great. Reasonably priced, knowledgeable, friendly.

I've been calling them for 10 months, and they still do not have the part in.

Once we did get through, we found out that they had scheduled 150 people for today and couldn't come out for a week. In our other dealings with them, we've been pleased and they were very reliable. Their holiday scheduling was not professional. Whoever was answering their calls yesterday was not well chosen by the company. This is the first time we've had a problem, but I would want to get an explanation before using them again.

The service was great. The office called when the serviceperson was on his way and he arrived very promptly. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Turns out the problem was just a dirty air filter and it needed some freon. MOST IMPORTANTLY -- HE DID NOT TRY TO SELL ME ANYTHING I DID NOT NEED! There are honest people in the Heating & cooling business!!! Price included a service contract.

Excellent, extremely prompt and thorough. He told us how much it would be in advance and got right to work. He did a beautiful job and cleaned up after himself.

The workmen arrived on time, they were polite and professional. They put down plastic in my home. From the sales representative to the installers, my experience was most satisfying. I would recommend them with no reservations.

They were here early and cleaned up so well after themselves!! They were very professional!

Service person (Ted) arrived within the timeframe given to me. He was very neat and provided great service. He took extra time cleaning the coil (which appeared to have never been done by the previous owners of the home). The price for this service was great and includes the cost of the fall furnace check. I would recommend this company.

We've used Broad Ripple heating for decades for service as well as purchase of equipment. They have always given good service & are professional, thorough, fair, & very competent. The service provider today told me how to disassemble & repair a defective, leaking part rather than suggesting a new $300 part. I couldn't be more satisfied with a service provider than I am with BR Heating. By the way, I am not one of those people who routinely rate every firm for whom they submit a report to Angie's as an "A". I submitted a "C" report with some categories rated "F" for a firm earlier this week. I believe for Angie's List to be an effective tool, people need to distinguish between the superior service providers & those who merely do an adequate job.

Even though it seems very simple, installing new shower valves in old houses can be way more complicated than it first appears. Our home was built in 1938, & suffers from past repairs that were amateurish at best & sometimes downright incompetent. Andy did a great job correcting some of the past mistakes & installing a new shower setup that actually works! In addition, he gave us some excellent information about past building methods & what to watch out for. He's great!

They've always been extremely prompt & responsive. Price reflects service contract for both a/c & heating. Extra repairs incur extra cost. So far we've had a good experience.

The first time I used them, they were prompt and replaced broken pump the same day. When I called them back to say that the outside pipe was draining back into the crawl space, they had to ''track'' down the plumber who did the work, and it was difficult to connect with the right people to get the job done. I called them a few weeks later for an outside faucet leak. The guy on the phone was rude and laughed when I asked if could not get home from work if they could just call me at work, and I could pay over the phone with a credit card. I choose another plumber and will not use their services again.

The plumber called ahead of time to notify me of his arrival. He arrived when he said he would & fixed the problem quickly.

Contractor was on time, performed the old equipment removal & new air cleaner installation, & explained usage & maintenance.

I didn't need any repairs after all. They were prompt in coming out - they came the same day I called. I was so impressed that I did by a service plan for the next few years. Following my the visit, they came out and provided information on a furnace - mine is aging, but they were not pushy about it. While he was there, he fixed my humidifier and didn't charge me for that. I am waiting to buy the new furnace, but I will buy it from them for sure!
