Broad Ripple Service Experts

I had been on a service contract with them and renewed my contract. He was on time and did a good job of explaining things. He was very polite and it went well.

Great. I've used them in the past in another house in Indy. Came on-time as scheduled, professional and knowledgeable.

They were very helpful, considerate and did a good job. They really went out of their way to make it easy for us. We've used them for years.

Called them on a Monday morning, they got someone out by the afternoon and called 10 min. before they got there. George was very nice and professional. He taught me about routine maintenance, how/where to get certain parts, and what to do if this were to happen again. He was very interested in making sure that I made the right financial decision for me.

I had a leaky washer hose which was corroded and stuck to the faucet. The quote to replace the faucet was very reasonable, but he was able to cut the hose from the faucet and replace it without replacing the faucet, and he reduced the fee due to the lesser work required.

They arrived on time, calling ahead to let us know they were on the way. They cleaned all of the ducts and had their machine attached to the furnace to suck up the dust as they cleaned it out of the ducts on the upper level. My complaints are that the house is as dusty as it was before, they left marks on the white berber carpet in the basement from the dolly they used to transport their machine to the furnace, and the truck left a large stain in the driveway (presumably oil). I wasn't home when they were done, my husband was, or I would've asked them to clean up the marks on the carpet. We have been very happy with them for A/C and furnace work, but both my husband and I felt the duct cleaning was a waste of money.

We found the water heater leaking on the Christmas weekend. They were willing to send someone out at 5-5:30, just 3 hours of our first call. The technician (Darrell) was very professional, explaining what was needed (and why). Plus, he explained that there might be a few extra problems, and he explained what might happen there too. We were prepared and understood. He talked to us off and on throughout the process to keep us up-to-date on what he was doing. Then he took time to explain lighting the pilot light and other features of the unit. All of this done on Christmas weekend with short notice! Paperwork was all done professionally. Darrell was very nice and patient. For Angie List's information, we had a coupon through the newspaper that saved us more money ($50) off a new water heater than the discount that the Angie's List savings was quoted to us from the technician ($25.00).

They did very well. The furnace blower went out. The tech arrived in under an hour. They had to search for a motor. The furnace was running again in under 3 hours.

I noticed a leak from the first floor into the basement. I called Village Plumbing the next morning and they quickly got me on their appointment books despite their full early week schedule. By the time the plumber arrived (and I do regret not having his name handy, he was professional, prompt, and kind), I had figured out the source of one of the leaks. The plumber was careful to confirm that no other source existed and ensured that I was leak free. Ultimately the second leak wasn't related to my plumbing, but the plumber was very thorough in attempting to determine its source and rule out a plumbing issue. I appreciated that he took his time (for a flat fee, not an hourly fee) to provide me with very good customer service. My second experience with Village Plumbing, but certainly not my last!

We were happy with the work they performed...HOWEVER...we asked for an estimate to replace our unit. Our service was on 10/2, took them 2 wks to call to schedule and appt. for estimate. Scheduled for 10/28. The salesman was late getting there, didn't call to let us know he was running late and has yet to get back w/us for an estimate. I was greatly disappointed because of all the positive reports on Angie's List for this company...someone seriously dropped the ball on this one!! At this point I would not consider them for service or replacing our heating & A/C unit.

Once I called Broad Ripple, it went very well. I originally called the company that sold and installed the furnace, but they did not have the part in stock and said they could not get it until the following Monday. Come Monday, when we did not hear from them, my husband called them and they said their supplier did not have the part either. He could not get it until the next day. We were left without heat during that time. Not knowing whether they would put us off again, I called the parts department at Broad Ripple and learned that they did have the necessary part in stock. They came out as scheduled, installed the part and charged us labor only. My husband and I were very pleased to have heat in the house again. We will definitely call Broad Ripple first next time.

The quality of the work was fine. The cost seemed rather high and very arbitrary, especially since the company was unwilling (and apparently has a policy) to provide itemized billing simply breaking down parts and labor. If you choose to contract with this company get an itemized estimate up front.

The folks at Broad Ripple heating agreed to come out the next day after we told them our heater was broken. I scheduled the call for any time after 1 and called about 3:30 or 4 to check in. The person I spoke to was really helpful and called me back to let me know the technician was running late and then called again when he was on his way. Dave was very friendly and professional. He explained everything to me and was extremely helpful. He let us know the name of the guy on call that night in case the heater stopped working again and said that since he'd already come out, he would flag the account as having a possibly faulty board, so that if we needed to call again, we wouldn't have to pay for another service call. So far, our heater is running strong!

Estimator suggested a new approach to our problem, we wanted to replace crawl space ductwork, and he suggested moving the furnace and installing ducts in the attic instead (crawl would have had to be excavated, and the estimate from another company to do the crawl space job was twice as much as this ended up costing). Estimate went well, except failed to discover inadequate support for the new furnace location in the attic. When they came to do the job, they had to stop and wait for us to fix a problem with the joists. However once the house was ready and they arrived to do the job, it was completed efficiently and promptly. Installers were on time and worked nonstop for two days, and left our house at least as clean as they found it. A+

Broad Ripple Plumbing came to my house at the promised time. They identified the problem and provided me with a clear explanation of the options available. They had the replacement on the truck and installed it.

It was great. I have always liked them. They come when they say and do what they are supposed to. I had purchased a maintenance contract which they rolled over. Above and beyond the warranty with new equipment.

I have emailed them at the same time I am emailing you so I have not heard.

John was very professional even going as far as wearing shoe covers inside the house. The price was stated up front and the job was completed in under an hour. I provided a new faucet since it was cheaper than the one that they would have installed. Only minor complaint is that he forgot to reopen the valve to the dishwasher. Easy enough to figure out though.

Working with Broad Ripple Heating & Air was a real pleasure. The tech I had, Ted, was very nice and really knew his stuff... Not only did he do the replacement he showed and explained to me what was going on. The only issue I had was the tech was about 2 hours late and I never heard from a dispatcher or anything. What I was also extremely happy to hear is that they also do plumbing.

I've used them for years. They are very responsive and the technicians are problem solvers. I am able to ask for the same technician (Kevin) and now he knows my home.

The work was done on time and was done very neatly. The plumber made several changes to our piping without charging any additional for the work.

Very pleasant and professional. I signed up for another service contract and asked about coupons and the technician told me about the Angie's List coupon.

The price included two visits; spring and fall. They are always accommodating as to the date and on time. They do a good job including, this time, cleaning filters on electronic air cleaner for me.

The estimate visit was bizarre. Despite knowing my project was in the ATTIC, the rep arrived without a ladder. He then watched me, a 115# woman, carry MY ladder up to the second floor, where he left it when he was done. He left behind a very nice tape measure. I notified him by voice mail that I would leave it in my mailbox for him to pick up;six weeks later it became mine. (THANKS!) That said, the installation chap (Josh) was prompt, efficient, tidy, quiet and kind. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Went very well. Larry was very easy to work with.
