Description of Work: I purchased Angie's List big deal for chimney sweep and inspection for $79. Service was on time and professional, but they did not do a chimney cleaning because he said it was not necessary. He inspected the chimney and suggested that we have our chimney cap "coated" for 300+ dollars. He also suggested that we have our roof re-shingled, and that he "knew a good guy for that." He also suggested a mold remediation for the outside of our chimney brick work for $1200. He followed up with an email outlining the proposed charges for the work if we had it done. He asked us not to request our money back because they could do a cleaning next year and that it would "look bad on their record." Overall, the visit was friendly and professional, but on looking back at it, we feel that it was more of a "foot-in-the-door" sales presentation instead of the good deal for a cleaning we expected.

Description of Work: I hired Masonry Outfitters on ducting the return that is connected to our furnace. As part of the work, the chimney above the roofline was fully removed with the new ducting exhaust being properly flashed at the roof. Scott, Kourtney, and the rest of their staff were very professional and did very good, efficient work.

Description of Work: They were extremely professional and prompt. They provided the cleaning service that I purchased as well as a thorough inspection of my chimney and fireplace. I received a copy of the detailed report as well as an estimate of the costs to fix any / all of the problems that were found during the inspection. They were easy to work with and willing to work with me on anything further I wanted done. I would have no second thoughts about calling them again in the future for my chimney / masonry needs.

Description of Work: Took a long time to be contacted to schedule chimney cleaning, first guy to show up said he couldn't do because we have an insert, rescheduled, then next appt. tech cleaned chimney, then showed me pictures of cracks in my chimney cap and some mortar that could be tuck pointed, and gave me a quote for around $2400. Seemed like a repair quote that cost me $99. The cleaning was ok, just didn't care for the up sell. Did not have cap repaired by them, used $5 tube of masonry caulk instead.

Description of Work: Had them out for chimney cleaning. Upon inspection of the outside chimney they found that our chimney chase was old and pitted with corrosion/rust. They installed a new chimney chase. My only complaint was that we were left with soot in the family room filtering throughout the room. I feel they should have used a system that totally encloses the fireplace while cleaning.
