My brick house has been in need of some masonry work for quite some time. Therefore, I needed quite a bit of work done. Masonry Outfitters removed my brick chimney, installed a chimney cap and then removed and replaced about 200 crumbling bricks on my home. It was hard, grueling work, and they did a wonderful job. After the work was finished, Kourtney reviewed the work himself and decided that a few of my bricks needed some re-work, which was completed at no extra cost. I was pleasantly surprised by his integrity and honesty. I would recommend them to any and everyone.

Contacted Masonry Outfitters through Angie's List- they reviewed the work to be performed and submitted a bid. After a bid of deliberation on my part, we agreed on the scope of the work and price. A team was scheduled thereafter and the work was completed on time and done very well.
Description of Work: Our brick entry way was falling apart and they did a great job of replacing/repairing the steps and landing, etc. Great job- well done, I would use again and recommend to others.

The company owner came when promised and was very professional and courteous. He performed/supervised the work and made sure I knew what would be done and when. I was very happy with the job done and would recommend this company to anyone in a similar situation.
Description of Work: We have an older home (about 45 years) and have done little to maintain the chimney. Based on an inspection, the worker (whose name I forget) recommended one of two avenues to structurally improve the chimney and avoid additional damage. We opted for the more expensive option which had him repair prior sheered bricks and create a cap that would prevent leakage and stand up to weather for 20+ years.

After receiving Angie's List "Big Deal" offer, I read the reviews for Masonry Outfitters before purchasing the Big Deal. The reviews were all favorable therefore I followed through with my purchase then contacted Kourtney Zahn via email soon after. - The majority of communication was conducted via email, which is most convenient for me. Kourtney was quick to respond to our request and scheduled a time to look at the job; Kourtney presented a proposal via email soon after the inspection. I delayed in scheduling the needed repairs because the estimate was higher than I was prepared to spend at the time. 2 months after receiving the estimate, I decided to move forward; Kourtney honored the proposal written 60 days earlier. - Once the repairs were scheduled, it worked out where Kourtney was able to begin a day sooner and though the proposal initially estimated a day and a half to complete, all repairs were completely finished in the same day. - The repairs look awesome and the entire bricked porch/entrance way looks renewed without the visible signs of new work and old. The entire job went better than expected and the finished results also exceed my expectations.
Description of Work: The front porch/entrance way of my home needed several repairs both cosmetically and structurally. The repairs consisted of resurfacing brick facing that had chipped away from several spalling bricks. The structural repairs consisted of removing 80 bricks and old foundation where an entire section had broke off. A new foundation was poured using rebar to tie in to existing foundation then replace with new brick and finish.

Before putting our home on the market we had it fully inspected so that we would not have any surprises come up with a potential buyer. The inspector found that our two chimneys were spalling and deteriorating. He also found a crack in one of the window well walls. After 3 bids, we hired Masonry Outfitters. We told Kourtney (owner) we wanted the work done before we put the house on the market on June 4th. He was able to accommodate our request and his crew was out on Memorial Day to start the teardown and were finished that week. They removed the chimneys to the roof line and installed the new chimneys to their original height stair stepping out the last 2 rows to minimize water saturation. They also removed 95-100 spalling bricks below the roof line throughout the one chimney that went to ground level. We had leaks at each corner of our lower level fireplace and they installed lime stone pieces at the shoulders. They also tapered the crown so water wouldn't puddle but would run off the crown. The guys cleaned up after themselves prior to leaving each day and the chimneys look beautiful. We've had a downpour rain since then and experienced no leaking on each side of the lower level fireplace. I highly recommend Masonry Outfitters and in fact have referred them to our neighbor and someone else who was getting bids for his chimney repair.

I could not be more pleased – every bit of work they performed was the highest quality. Even though they call themselves “Masonry Outfitters” the caulking contract they did for me was outstanding. They carefully scraped the old failing caulk from every window (like 20-30 min to prep each window) then caulked with a very nice polyurethane caulk from BASF. These guys took real pride in their work.
Description of Work: Kourtney’s crew corrected my chimney making it 4’ taller, tuck-pointed my entire home, and caulked every window.

Masonry Outfitters did an outstanding job from estimate to finished product. Courtney scheduled an estimate, showed up on time and took photos of the chimney with his iPad to show me the problem areas. It put my mind at ease seeing photos of the chimney and problem areas and created trust that he was only estimating work that was required. ' I was able to schedule the work for a few weeks out which was outstanding. ,The chimney re-build was done on schedule and very quickly. They were also very neat, leaving no debris or trash. Masonry Outfitters were very contentious of my landscaping, harming no plants which is very important to me. Overall, Masonry Outfitters delivered on their promise and provided me with a very high quality service. I highly recommend this company and I will use them again if I need masonry work.
Description of Work: Masonry Outfitters rebuilt our chimney from the roof up. They installed new flashing and poured a new chimney cap to insure water would run off the chimney instead of settling inside it.

Everything went extremely well. DD
Description of Work: Couldn't have asked for a better service experience. Kourtney, of Masonry Outfitters, personally supervised the work being done and was quick to communicate when schedule or product availability conflicts arose. They did a complete brick paver patio tear-out and re-installation, chimney revision, and wall repair. Also, were extremely informative as to educating me as to what I presently didn't need to do. Would highly recommend ! DD

Went well, I got 3 quotes and Kourtney's was similar to another but he provided the most thorough estimate including photos of my house so I knew he understood the scope. Upon request, he sent me a picture of their previous work matching existing grout. They arrived when scheduled and we were pleased with their work.

Kourtney Zahn came out promptly after I called to get an estimate. He was very responsive to my questions, explaining what his crew would and would not be doing. His estimate was comparable to that of another small contractor, and WAY below that of a large contractor whose signs are all over town. As part of his written proposal, he included pictures of each of the sections of the building, which was very helpful. After the work began, the crew worked steadily and carefully each day.
Description of Work: masonry repair of large garage, including tuck pointing exterior walls and rebuilding several windowsills that had pulled away from the frame, leaving a gap for leaks. Also replaced a rotten door sill with a very attractive brick step.

After the chimney was swept we told the saleman that we had problems with moisture entering the fireplace. He indicated that the old fashioned caps from the 1920s tended to leak and recommended a crown repair and replacement. We researched this and also had another company come out to see what they would say. Since our research and experience with the other company suggested that this was a good idea we went ahead with it. We also negotiated some small amount of tuckpointing on the lower level of the outside of the house. When we accepted the estimate, we assumed that the offer included tuckpointing spots in the chimney as well. This company and another would have charged us to take off the grape ivy that covered the chimney so we did that ourselves. By the time ivy pulling was done and they had time to schedule us, it was winter. The crew worked in the cold and even the dark. When they finished however we did not see any evidence of tuckpointing of the rest of the chimney and some of the crown repair seemed sloppy. We told the salesman and he had them fix both immediately, which was very impressive. Some supervision of the original workers would have prevented a second trip probably. We are no longer having moisture problems with the chimney and it looks pretty good.

Overall, it went very well. They were able to come out in a very timely fashion. During the cleaning, the blower was turned on, but they never mentioned that it was not working properly. While the chimney is very clean, I feel this is something they should caught and mentioned. Additionally, they tried to upsell us on having the chimney cap replaced. While it may need this, they told us they would give us this very special deal. After more research, the deal they proposed is a pretty average price. However, the original goal of the appointment was a cleaning and I think they did a very good job at cleaning the chimney.

C&M came out, inspected the chimney cap which was original to the house. As I suspected from the rust and hearing the rain drip inside the chimney, the cap needed to be replaced. The stimate of $1094 was a bit of a shock at first, but I always believe you get what you pay for, and in this case, they replaced the orginal cap with stainless steel. The cap had to be custom made because it was an odd size. Installation went without any problems to me.All I can add is that if you need ANY chimney work, contact this company. They are FANTASTIC!

I bought the deal for 99.00 on Angie's List for a chimney sweep and 100 in credit for masonry repair. Luckily, I did not need to use the credit. He came out and was very knowledgable. He gave me some tips. He told me things that I could have done that would improve my chimney but he said that I really did not need to have it done if I was not using my fireplace to heat the home. He was very honest and did not try to sell me more services.

This was a very positive experience. We purchased a Big Deal coupon for 3 hours of masonry labor. After Kourtney performed a thorough inspection of our chimney (exterior) and brick walls, we decided to have them do additional repairs beyond the removal of the dog door. We were able to schedule a date in advance but they were able to start a couple of days early. My biggest fear was to end up with a 2' x 3' patch of mismatched bricks in the middle of a 2-story wall. The new bricks match the old bricks perfectly! The crew did an excellent job of cleaning up all work areas. They even blew the leaves from our back patio which will save us time this coming weekend. We have several significant concrete and brick issues yet to fix and will bring this company back for the short list of estimates.
