Dave and Calvin were professional and thorough in their evaluation of our leakage problem. The flushed the chimney and roof with water to identify exactly where the problems were. David showed me the pictures of what was going on and explained the options for fixing the problems in clear detail. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a problem with their chimney or other masonry issues for sure. We will use them to fix the problems they discovered with our flashing and chimney masonry.

Technician came out and set vent system wrong size installed initially . Wanted to sell a expensive new vent system. Issue is it has worked fine for 14 years. Two years ago has a birds nest obstruction which was fixed by another vendor. When I asked how is it possible it has worked fine for a long time, and now you say it was installed wrong and shouldn’t be working, he couldn’t answer. Called management for an explanation and they hung up on me. Avoid.

Very well. Brian was courteous and professional. He also told me if I schedule this in the summer the price is considerably less and the wait time not nearly as long. I did not know this and was grateful for this information.

Everything went great! … except for the fact they need to come back and fix the fireplace doors that don't close evenly now. I have no doubt that this will be remedied soon!

I obtained three quotes for mortar joint repair on the brick on the front of my house caused by weather. Chimney & Masonry Outfitters was the cheapest and somehow highly rated on Angie's List so I went with them. That was a mistake. Once I told them I was going with them, they immediately asked me to call and put a down payment down with what seemed like a third party. I called and gave them my CC info and asked how to schedule. They told me the scheduling department would call me to schedule the work. 4-5 days later, I received an email that my job was scheduled for a random day at 1pm. They never called to schedule but they did at least provide 48 hours notice THAT time. I scrambled and re-arranged meetings at work so I could be there at 1pm that day. However, at 8am that day, they called me and said they were on their way to my house. I told them it was scheduled for 1pm and I was at work. The guy said "I don't know this is just the time it was scheduled so do you want me to do the work or schedule for another day?" I told them to go ahead, which was my second mistake in this process. The guy called an hour later and said the work was done and he would send pictures of the completed work. I couldn't tell much by the pictures because they were so close up. When I arrived home, I noticed they missed a bunch of joints and some were even filled in completely. So, I called and talked to James who was apparently my project manager who failed to call to schedule my appointment and sent the guy out at 8am instead of 1pm. I told him there were missed joints and he insisted the pictures showed the work was completed. After 10 minutes of him trying to get me off the phone, he told me I would have to email him pictures and then maybe a manager would come out to talk to me. I emailed James the pictures that day and after not hearing anything for a week, I called them. The guy who answered said James was my account manager and he was out sick so I'd have to wait until he came back in. I asked if there was anyone else who could help me and he said no but James would call me the next day (IF he wasn't still sick). The next day I hadn't received a call, so I called again and James answered. He told me a manager would have to come out to discuss what was actually supposed to be fixed since their invoice just said "Tuckpoint compromised joints in highlighted areas(see photos)." There of course were no photos. James told me a manager would come out a couple days later at 1pm. So, I had to re-arrange stuff at work yet again to talk to a manager. The manager, who I think name was Troy, showed up on time and was extremely pleasant to deal with. He was very apologetic after he clearly saw the work was not completed and they had left a big mess. He told me he would have them come out and fix it and even offered to caulk the corner by the brick to make up for them having to come out a second time. I told him about the scheduling mishap and he apologized and said he would take care of it for me so someone would call to schedule the follow-up work. A week later, I received a call one afternoon from a guy who said he was on my way to my house to fix the other joints. I told him no one had scheduled it with me or let me know so I couldn't be there. After talking to the manager, I had felt more comfortable so I said to go ahead, which was my third mistake. I asked if he had seen the pictures I sent, which he confirmed, and he also confirmed he knew about the extra caulking the manager told me they would do for the trouble. He called me after he was done, I asked about the caulking, which he said he did. I arrived home that day to find a couple of joints were still not filled in and the mortar was a different color than the other mortar and didn't match at all. Also, the caulking was not done as he had said he did. James called me the next day to ask if I was ready to pay my invoice. I told him about the joints that still weren't fixed and the missed caulking. He said he'd check on it and call me back later that day. Of course, he never called me back. A week or so later, I received a call from a guy who said he was on his way to fix the missing joints without prior notice yet again. Luckily, I happened to be home because I had a plumber doing work that day. The guy who showed up said he name was Patrick. He was a nice guy and told me he worked on the joints the first time. He said he was just given a number of joints to fix so he chose the worst ones and that's why not all of them were done. He also said the second guy who came out called him before he worked on my house to ask him which color to use because he wasn't sure due to him being new and that's why the color was off so bad. He also said he talked to the second guy that morning who told him the caulking was done so Patrick did not have caulking with him and that would have be done on another day. Patrick completed the work, which I reviewed and told him I was satisfied with. He said I'd have to call James to schedule the caulking. I told him I didn't want to deal with James anymore since he never called me back and kept scheduling things without conferring with me first. So, he gave me Troy's number who I called and left a voicemail. Troy asked me to send him pictures of where the caulking needed to be done and he would schedule someone to come out and finish it on Monday (this was a Friday). No one came out on Monday and Troy never called me back. Two days later, James called me to ask if I was ready to pay my invoice. I told him I was still waiting on the caulking to be completed as promised and that I had talked to Troy about it. He said he would have to call me back. Keep in mind this guy literally never apologized one time for any of these mishaps. Our phone conversations were always 30 seconds long and consisted of him asking me for payment, me telling him the work still wasn't completed, and him telling me he'd have to call me back, which he always failed to do. After not hearing from them for 3 weeks, that's right you guessed it, I received a call from a guy who said he was on his way to my house to do the caulking. I arrived home and the caulking was finished. So after 4 different times, only one of which I was given prior notice, none of them was I given options on when to schedule, and 2 1/2 months later, my mortar joints are mostly repaired. If you value communication, scheduling flexibility, and quality work, I would not recommend using Chimney & Masonry Outfitters.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Im the owner of CMO and very sorry for your experience. As an A rated company with Angies List and over 1000 reviews it is not our goal to give this kind of service. I have spoke with my team at length about your review and are using this as an opportunity to grow. If you would like to talk to me personally my number is 317-403-3816. Tech called ahead and arrived on time. He did a great job of keeping me informed of progress and showed me pictures of the chimney. He went on the roof twice to inspect and ensure our damper was closing properly. The cord was too short originally, so he fixed that for us as well.

I must have claimed their $79 sweep and inspection deal right as it was expiring, but they still honored it. However, there's a bit of confusion on the travel fee. I was fine with it, since I was getting a good deal, but the invoice says "anyone outside of 30 miles." I'm 15 miles away. I'll see if they refund the fee. Brent was punctual and professional. It was a quick clean, sweep, and inspect. He even removed the old grate that was attached to my fireplace to replace it with the new one I had bought. After inspection, he did recommend a couple items and was able to show me and provide a quote on the spot. Super nice and a pleasure to work with!

Paul was fantastic. I'm a first time homeowner and the inspection said I needed to get the fireplace cleaned. Paul came out and said they were wrong and we didn't need it cleaned. Very honest and professional. Any other company would've probably just done the clean to make money but not Paul. He also provided us an estimate to have the cap replaced while he was there.

I called Scott Dillman at CMO: they came out on time, assessed the work needed, took pictures of the specific bricks that needed replacement, and gave me a price. A friendly and helpful workman came out on the day we had set and spent most of the day replacing and repairing the bricks selected. While working he found a few areas that hadn't been noticed, and he fixed those at no extra charge for his labor. I feel that I got a good job, professionally handled, for a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend CMO to anyone.
