Overall, he did the service I paid for through the Big Deal. I just felt like I was on a long list of calls for the day and he was in a hurry to get my service done.

The Big deal could not be done because my chimney was in to much disrepair, but he was very professional and knew what he was doing.

I purchased a 99.00 chimney sweep from Angie's List without knowing a gas fireplace did not require sweeping. Masonry Outfitters agreed to clean my mother's fireplace instead. They were on time, quick, clean and professional.

We needed to have our chimney cover replaced, because it was leaking. WeI signed on to Angie's List to find a contractor. Our chimney had been leaking for a couple of weeks, and there was another storm coming, so we called Masonry Outfitters at 12 noon to see if they could come and cover our chimney cover. They were there by 1! They covered our chimney, made an evaluation of the problem with our chimney, quoted it, and we signed up! We ordered a custom made cap, and they told us that they would be installing it the next Thursday. And they were there on Thursday! Took them 2 days, just like they said. Masonry Outfitters went above and beyond more than we can write in this post. We have already referred them! We want to send out a special thanks to Kortne, Dave, Dave, and Shelby!!! Thank you!

They took photos of the work so we could see what had been done. They took photos before the work as well. He provided a really great service and did a very good job.

Masonary Outfitters arrived exactly on time. The employee was very friendly and extremely professional. The day was very cold and the ground was snow covered. There was still some snow on the roof. We had used a snow rake to eliminate much of the snow. But it was still hazardous to say the least. The employee used a ladder and climbed up on the roof. He removed the chimney cap and proceeded to clean out the chimney. I need to digress for a moment. The employee first went into the house to ensure the flue vent was closed and the chimney doors were closed. After he sweept the chimney he put the cap back on the chimney. He then checked out the exterior of the chimney and took numerous photos. He then came down from the roof and entered the house again. This time he thoroughly vacuumed out the firebox. He took more photos of the interiorof the fire place. He then took the time to explain what exactly he found was wrong with the fire place and the chimney. He stated he would send a detailed report to me explaining what he had done and what would need to be repaired to safely operate the fire place. When he was complete he cleaned up and I could not tell ha had been within the residence. The experience was extremely positive and professional. I would not hesitate using Masonary Outfitters again nor would I hesitate in recommending them.

As my Mother said, it wasn't as though the people were unpleasant, they just weren't professional and they didn't do much.

Wow! What a professional. He sent me an e-mail with pictures of the chimney cap and detailed my options. I have three chimneys and he gave me estimates for one, two or all of them. At this time I only did the one, and the work was prompt and looks great. He also gave me pictures of the finished work. He was easy to work with, and even though it was more than the 3 hours of the Big Deal, the prices was well detailed for what I was getting and seemed very fair. I didn't have to be here for the work and it was completed in the itmeframe he set. I will use him again for the other chimneys.

I purchased the Big Deal and emailed the company to set up an appointment. It took a couple of days for the company to get back with me to set the appointment up. I advised them about the crack in the ceramic panel and was told that the cost to replace the panel would be $275 after the $100 credit. The appointment was set up for about 2 weeks out. The day of the appointment, Kris showed up right on time. He took a look up the chimney and stated that he was going to head up to the roof to begin. He was done sweeping it out with in about 15 mins. He then came inside and cleaned out all of the ashes out of the fireplace. He stated that he wouldn't worry about the crack in the ceramic panel and that he didn't feel like it needed to be replaced. I was hoping that he could provide some suggestions on how to fill the crack or when we should have the panels replaced, but we got nothing. He was very courteous, but I don't feel like the work he did was worth $99.

There seemed to be delay in getting contacted by the owner however once he made the appointment he showed up punctually and was very thorough. He inspected everything inside and out. He took some pictures to show us some damage that needs to be repaired. He sent us an estimate two days later via email which was great. I would definitely use them again.

This was an Angie's list special. It took well over a month from the time I paid the $99 to even get in touch with them. We exchanged emails and phone calls and each time I had to reiterate that I had already paid them. It will be the last time I take advantage of one of Angies List specials. You pay up front and then hope the contractor gets back to you. It ended up being 2 months from the time I paid till the work was actually done. Not a good experience.

He was extremely polite, efficient and is a hard worker. I would easily recommend him.

The process was rather smooth, although if you are having brick repair done and also painting your house....do the brick repair first. It's realllllly dusty/dirty, as they tear out the old bricks. I had to wash windows 3 times before I got rid of the haze.

Prompt, polite, and good service. Since our gass fireplace didn't require sweeping, he just inspected our fireplace. Pointed out water damage from years before and we discussed what to look for to be sure the problem had been fixed by the previous owners. Very knowlegable of old houses.

Coupon from Angie's List included $100.00 toward masonry repair. Applying this amount toward our bill was a source of disagreement between the repairman and us. His estimate did not state that it included the $100.00 credit, so we just paid the bill following his work, less $100.00. We had no communication with the owner over this issue. He needs to be clearer with his clients and speak with them directly before and following service.

He arrived exactly on time. Cleaning of chimney was quick and not messy. Very nice and sweet to my children who asked tons of questions. We discussed how the chimney has been for us and he felt it looked like it was doing its job. Very honest and quality company!

Went great. Company was able to take pictures with iPad for us of damage of our chimney to share with another company who had done repair on it a few years back. Very helpful. Extremely trustworthy. Offered options of short and long term repairs to us.

He was very neat and did a great job but my husband said he seemed like he didn't know much about brickwork, ideas, or constructive suggestions. My husband thought that he did a good job of cleaning the chimneys/fireplaces.

Used their "Big Deal" and was pleased on their workmanship and timeliness.

They were prompt and efficient. I also appreciated their willingness to give me a second opinion about the need for a chimney liner. A previous company had cleaned my chimney and warned me that I should spend roughly $6000 immediately to put in a steel liner. The previous company had informed me at the time of the chimney cleaning that they could give me a big discount if I agreed immediately. I was a bit suspicious, so I contacted Masonry Outfitters. They informed me that in older homes, steel chimney liners are generally a good idea, but probably 90% of the homes in Indianapolis do not have them, so it was hardly the crisis that the previous contractor had portrayed. Masonry Contractors recommended minor mortar repair in the external portion of the chimney, which I will have them return to complete.

The worker came when he was supposed to and was very friendly and courteous.
