I have used them already and they were good for their second service.I like their work. I think they were very careful. The work was excellent. My interactions with them was good. They charged me about $200 by the time the work was over with and they came out within 2 to 3 months of me purchasing the deal.

It went well. The technician told me to request a refund since he did not do a chimney sweep.

The service person was short and curt in comments. It seemed like he was having a bad day and made us part of it.

The technician from Masonry Outfitters arrived on time and was very professional. After inspecting my chimney he determined that it did not need to be swept and informed me that I could receive a refund from Angie's list since he did not perform the service I had paid for.

The tech showed up, told me they work on masonry fireplaces and I had gas fireplace so there was nothing he could do. He opened the flue and looked up and closed it. I expressed some concern about using it, he recommended a carbon monoxide detector before using it, and he said I should maybe call a plumber to check the gas line. He was very nice but he was not the correct type of contractor. I guess part of the problem was that I didn't understand what "masonry" fireplace meant.

Although I did not receive the chimney sweep service I appreciated their professionalism and honesty.

Chimeny sweep and inspection. Took me about a week and a half to contact them. Then was told they were very busy and next appt was after Christmas. The deal was great and I understand the wait. What I couldn't understand was why it took so long to get someone on the phone when I was clearly calling during their working hours. But when it was time for the service he was very prompt, clean, and courteous. Let me know everything that was going on with our Chimeny and what needed to be fixed. I liked them after I finally got through.

David was very professional, helpful and worked very quickly. Although there wasn't a lot of cleaning to be done (mainly cobwebs), he did do a thorough job of inspecting and documenting with pictures of potential issues with the Chase cover and rain cap and cover, due to corrosion. He provided a quote for replacement. Since I live in a Condo, replacement would need to be approved by the association. I have not yet provided this to the Association for consideration. Will provide this in the new year. Also appreciated the additional advice. Since I have a gas fireplace, he did suggest buying a Carbon Monoxide detector. Hope to be able to work with David in the future, if I have additional fireplace needs.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They are quick, clean and I definitely would recommend them to someone else.

It was easy to get the initial estimate done. Kourtney came out to our house soon after we contacted them and gave us an estimate for work. I was told that we'd be contacted in about a week to schedule a time to do the work. A couple of weeks passed, and they had not called. I called them, but had to leave a message. When they called me back, they weren't ready to schedule an appointment, so they had to call again. After talking to them 2 or 3 times, I finally got an email on 10/7 saying they would do the work on 11/21. Fortunately, that date worked for me and I didn't have to call to reschedule. On 11/21, the weather did not suit for them to do the work, so they asked if they could come out on 11/22, or 11/23 if the weather was still bad. On 11/22, the weather wasn't much better, and we had not heard from them, so we didn't know whether they were coming or not. Unfortunately, when they did come on 11/22, my wife was in the shower and our car was in the way. They had to wait on her to move the car, and did not hide their displeasure about this. If we had known they were coming, or even a time that they might come, we would have moved our car into the street well ahead of the appointment. I felt that this was particularly unprofessional of them. The work was completely in a timely manner with high quality. I cannot complain about the work, or the professionalism that Kourtney showed me during the estimate. The professionalism of the workers doing the work was disappointing, as was the time and effort required to get the work scheduled.

The provider came by for the initial inspection and said that my chimney didn't need to be cleaned and advised me to contact Angie's List for a refund since the service is unnecessary.

They have cleaned our chimney as well as completed repairs at least twice. They did a good job and it was worth the cost. We had a good experience with them.

Was told work was a month out as really busy. The appt time came and went without anyone coming (after a month of waiting). tried multiple times to contact but nothing. poor customer service and overbooked. wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine, but was not up to what I expected. I would not cross them off my list.

Prompt and professional. Unfortunately, I need work performed on my fireplace (back wall) and chimney cap replacement per the inspection. Was given a verbal estimate and was told I would receive a written estimate via email. Never got it. Approximately, 2 weeks later I received a call from them to set up an appointment for the initial Big Deal purchase. Sounds like a pretty unorganized company. Called them back, explained I was still waiting on my written estimate (approx. $1100) but no returned call. Their loss. I was willing to give them the business. Went with another service provider.

Date is an approximation of when I attempted to schedule services. As said above, I would appreciate getting a refund and not having to communicate directly with the vendor. Masonry Outfitters stated though they did not perform the service, that they could not refund me my $100 but could credit me toward the several thousand dollar service they would perform. Thank you for your help!

Overall, I had a great experience with Masonry Outfitters. My only complaint would be that scheduling an appointment was very difficult. It is a busy time of year, I'm sure, but it still was more difficult than I would have preferred to schedule an appointment. Otherwise, they did a great job and I would definitely use them again!

Provider did not immediately respond to my contact, but I understand they were probably overwhelmed. We did get the estimate scheduled at a convenient time for us (I think either Nov 23 or 15, I don't remember exact date) and he showed up on time. But there is additional work needed which we are not prepared to do at this time. The deal was for a chimney cap and masonry and that was not completed.
