They took a look at the chimney and they said I didn't need the work. They were honest.

The quote was too high, so that was the end of it.

The gentleman that came to talk to me about the service a couple of weeks prior to the actual service was very helpful and explained the issues to me extremely well. I was totally impressed! However, I am not impressed with the work that was completed. It looks rather sloppy to me and can absolutely tell where the repair was made. The mortar is a completely different color from the original. Maybe that is the best that could be done. I have no idea. I am a single lady and am at the mercy of whomever does any type of work for me.

David came out to give an estimate. I told him we were selling soon and only wanted a few items repaired in the front of the house. He went up on the roof, around the house, and gave me an estimate of approx. $8,600.00. For the next 3-4 mos. I had trouble getting my calls, emails returned. He finally called and said he couldn't just do $345.00 worth of work, it had to be all or nothing. Again we had a couple of mos. w/ me calling asking him to look at a few items. He came out again, looked, said no. Finally in March he came said there was a discount through April. Somehow the estimate was now over $9,000.00, including discount. He did tell me he would tell you, if I decided not to have the work done, to refund my money.

It was okay. They charged additional fee like a credit card, which I wasn’t expecting. It wasn’t outrageous but it was not what I anticipated. They charged a $75 trip fee. It took them quite awhile to find and call me. I had call to them 3 to 4 times. They did a good job. At the end of the day, I think it was a good value but probably I will not use them again though if I needed them.

They came on the day we scheduled a couple of weeks ago and they did a neat, professional jobs on both tasks. Overall, their performance was very good, but based upon the amount of time it took to complete the tasks, I think their rate for the joint repair was somethat high.

They did an excellent job. They were on time worked, all day until job was completed and cleaned up nicely. I would use them again.

There were several communications issues starting with a stolen truck & they were suppose to reschedule. I had to contact them several times to get rescheduled. Finally when I did get confirmation by email & they didn't show up on the agreed date/time, I had to contact THEM to find out if they were coming. They apologized but I felt like the manager should have contacted me, apologized & made a better attempt to resolve my frustration with them.

They did a good job ! , i had bought the big deal of theirs for $200 & it was only an extra $100 to complete the whole job. I was satisfied with their work & would use them again.

They did very punctual. Very knowledgeable and professional.

I had an Amazon Local coupon for a chimney cleaning and inspection. Josh called ahead of the appointment. That was good for me. He cleaned and inspected the chimney, and checked the outside of the chimney on the roof. He is personable and efficient. He answered all my questions and made some recommendations. Given my experience I recommend him if you have a chimney that needs serviced.

He came and he let me know that the chimney sweep did not need to be done. I was happy that he was honest and he did tell me I could get a refund.

I had not used the chimney for several years and as far as I can tell the work was done well. I had no issues at all. They were very neat with the work and they put covers down as well.

The provider was punctual and easy to schedule. He said he'd send an email with his update, because I wasn't home when the service was completed. But I never received the email. Follow up on communication was my fault, though. I don't remember the exact cost, so I guessed above, but I do remember that it was a good price. And I don't remember the exact date the service was performed.

Josh was very thorough--he told us he didn't think it needed to be replaced now. He did give us the option of upgrading the current system we have, but did not pressure us to do this. He said he would talk to his supervisor the next day to get his opinion and would call us with their evaluation of what we needed to do which he did. They agreed we could update as Josh had originally said, but that @ this time since we weren't actually experiencing any problems, and since they did not feel there is any imminent danger with our current system, they suggested we not do anything and save our $. So that is what we;re going to do. We very much appreciate their lack of pressure on us to buy their service--and also their free home visit to inspect and give us an estimate. If we run into problems with our chimney in the future, we will have no problem in contacting them again.

We were happy to have the majority of the tuck pointing/mortar repair done. However, many large gaps went unrepaired so I ended up patching them myself. The gentleman who came out to estimate was friendly and professional, and I suppose very thorough. We were a little put off by the "up sell" tactic. When we purchased the deal and had the estimator come out, we knew we wanted mortar repairs in and out. The estimator, in his thoroughness or looking to drum up more business, inspected our chimney and told us we needed upwards of $6000+ in repairs. I found this to be a little ridiculous as we had just purchased the house two months prior to this estimate and had inspectors and experts come out then who definitely did not present us with the quantity or repairs or price tag stated by this company. Although we were not entirely disappointed, I don't believe we will call them first for future projects.

They arrived exactly when they said that they would. They completed the work in less than thirty minutes. They did what I had asked them to do and were responsiveness. They did find something that may need repaired during their inspection, but I decided to not go forward with it at this time. They left no mess behind.

I called them and they did a perfect job. I got them from Angie's List booklet. I was very satisfied with their work. The chimney is not leaking anymore but the wall is damaged. They were very punctual and professional people. They explained step by step what they were doing and I would highly recommend them. The new chimney was expensive. Because I was out of town, they kept me updated on what was going on by email and when I sent them emails, they replied right away.

I was advised to ask Angie's List for my money back. I asked them to look at 4 items, and none could be encapsulated in the $99 deal. Kourtney was professional and informative, and their scheduler was responsive. However, all 4 tasks I proposed were declined for various reasons. I'm not upset with him or Chimney Masonry Outfitters, just disappointed with the outcome. I can't blame their business strategy, but don't see the validity in this being presented to Angie's List members as an Angie's List Big Deal. Both me as the consumer and Chimney Masonry outfitters were looking for different things out of this. Maybe I need to seek a handyman in this instance? 1. Repair chipped bricks on exterior after new glass block window was installed (he would only cut the bricks out and replace with new, declined to apply mortar to round out the edges). 2. Repair area of concrete sidewalk (said they don't do concrete), 3. Repair 3x2 inch chip in concrete step (declined to do concrete patchwork), 4. Tuckpoint chimney (he scaled the roof and took video of my chimney, showing me that the bricks were loose and said the chimney needed to be rebuilt with a new crown, costing $2k) I appreciated him taking video and showing me, but didn't like the news. He said that applying mortar would only be temporary. My feedback is neither positive nor negative for this company. I was confident that i could get them to do something for $99, but was left with the feeling that they only want to parlay the "big deal" into a larger revenue opportunity. I didn't buy this deal for it to be a small coupon on a more expensive job, and would have been okay with something temporary and inexpensive. For what it's worth...

They were very responsive for the first time they came out. They did quite a bit of work. There were several cracks than what the Big Deal covered. We had them add the extra cost onto that to make those repairs. They let us know the price ahead of time and they had better pricing than 1 other company we checked into. They did put on the wrong grout color the first time and I had to email them a couple of times to get them to respond about this. They were able to come out and try to fix that for us. At that time it was during the cold season. I feel like the grout did not mix right due to the cold and I feel like there was a major color variation. They then came back out again to get the grout to match the color. They ended up losing the grout and so I had to call them again. About 3 months later they were able to get the grout as close as they could get. We do have a 30+ year old home and we understood that there was going to be some sort of color variation to the grout.

He was on time. He checked the fireplace and gave me good suggestions on its upkeep. He answered all my questions.
