Brewer Heating & Cooling

Mr Brewer gave me a thorough range of options (from cheap to high-end) for a new Trane Furnace and AC unit. They installed it in a timely and professional manner, and I couldn't be happier with the service. Not only did I have a large range of options to choose from, but Mr. Brewer educated me on the differences between them. There were NO high-pressure sales tactics used. I believe that I made a wise and cost-effective choice for my home by choosing the high-efficiency models. Between rebates, energy savings, and the improved resale value I am likely to see on my home, I will make up the difference in my investment. Installation was done with MY busy schedule in mind. The installers were on time and left my house CLEANER than before they came. (I hadn't swept my floors for a week, but they swept every floor they walked across, even though they had put down a protective paper on which to walk.) I also chose to install a very top-of-the-line thermostat, the Trane ComfortLink II. It is a WiFi thermostat, complicated to install, that they made sure worked perfectly before they were done. These guys are pros, and I can't recommend them enough. I say this with no hidden agenda or previous relationship to Brewer Heating and Cooling.

We have since used them for evaporator cleaning and other concerns. Always professional.

They are always on-time, efficient, friendly, and willing to explain what's going on.

It is phenomenal. He does an excellent job and is reasonable. He gets it right the first time and doesn’t have to come back 15 million times. The system looks great and fabulous. There are no problems first time that is unusual.

We called Brewer Mechanical Services around 9:00 in the morning. They were able to schedule a service call for us the same day. Bill McMillian, the service technician, showed up exactly when they said he would. We was able to quickly diagnose the problem as a failed limit switch, an determined that the furnace was under warranty. Bill found a part in Plainfield, and made the drive to pick up the part. He was able to return the same afternoon, replace the part and complete the service. Furnace is working great. Bill did also offer us a maintenance plan, which we may take them up on. It was not a high pressure sell. Overall, the experience could not have been better!

They are a company like all other companies should be. Their sales person came to our home to discuss our needs and prepared a very detailed spreadsheet of equipment options with costs. He answered our questions in a timely and helpful way. Installation was scheduled, and installers arrived on time. They were clean, polite, and extremely thorough. They left our home cleaner than they found it. They only carry the highest rated products and I am certain they will stand behind them. We are very pleased!

They handled everything well. There were a few problems that were not their fault at all but they job they did was impressive and I was happy with it.

The first entry on our old furnace dated 1977, so we knew we were living on borrowed time in terms of heat (though it barely qualified as heat given how cold our house was). It conked out on us early in the morning on a Friday as my wife and I were getting ready for work. By noon the serviceman from Brewer's was here and he diagnosed the problem as a bad part that would cost $600 to replace. After talking it over, and looking at a spread sheet he had on his laptop, I decided to buy a new furnace. It was a very large old furnace that required a bunch of teardown. And it was also a Friday. Isaac asked if we wanted them to finish the install, noting that it might take 'til midnight, or come back Saturday morning. We didn't want them to work so long, but were afraid the pipes would burst without heat, and Isaac and his team stayed until the job was complete -- they finished at 11:45 p.m. We are long and loyal customers of Brewer's...and this is exactly why. We're thrilled with the furnace, can't wait to get lower heating bills, and for the first time since we've owned this house, actually warm.

We have used Brewer several times and have been very happy. They have outstanding customer service and never try to push you into unnecessary repairs. Our furnace was sometimes not generating heat and was just blowing cold air. After we called, they were at our home in one hour. I can summarize by saying that we will never use anyone else.

Absolutely wonderful. First they came out the same day. They were very knowledgeable and found the problem right away. They were able to do a temporary fix until the needed parts came in. We have been discouraged in the past, it seems that companies want to replace rather than repair. They are great at repairs!! My favorite thing besides them being extremely competent is how nice they are. We are planning to switch our entire home heating and cooling service to them! I will recommend them to everyone I know!!

The gentleman arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. He did a thorough check of the heat pump and determined that their was a faulty part that needed to be ordered. When the part arrived about a week later he returned and completed the service. The unit has worked fine ever since.

I went about my business for three weeks and now the issue is even worse. At first, there was about a 3 degree difference, now it is between 6 to 8 degrees. I called them and explained the issue is not resolved. I asked why they wouldn't bring a thermomotor when they came and they didn't have an answer. They actually told me to find another company. They do not back their service and, in my opinion, do not know what they are doing.

I had another company (competitor to Brewer's) scheduled out to do an annual winter furnace tune up. They arrived and within 5 minutes the service gentleman informed me that at somepoint someone re-wired the safely switch on the furnace because one of the burners was out and blowing out the front. This is was dangerous and he needed to turn the gas and breaker box to the furnace. He also looked inside of the furnace with a camera and showed several large cracks in the heat exchanger. These issues resulted in a new furnace. I decided to a second estimate for the replacement. Luckily, it was an unusually warm day and the following day was also supposed to be warm outside but the 3rd day was supposed to drop into the 40s; therefore, I didn't need to have the furnace installed asap. I was able to get an estimate from this company for the replacement. I also went to Angie's List to research another heating company in which I was impressed with the reviews of Brewers. I called them up and Jay Buckles was able to come out within 3 hours. He spent an hour with me going over the important aspects of purchasing a furnace. He later sent me a quote. After review of both estimates I decided to go with Brewers. I called Jay that evening and he put the order in that night and by 9AM a service tech was at my house installing the unit. He was professional and cleaned up any mess that was created. I decided on Brewers for their customer service and I also liked the brand of furnace which they had to offer - Trane. I am very happy with the service and would definitely use this company again.

I can't say enough nice things about this company. My air conditioner is old and quit on me just as the warm temperatures of summer arrived. I thought for sure I would need a new unit. I called Brewer. Isaac showed up and serviced my unit efficiently. Luckily it only needed coolant. I find this company to be very trustworthy and knowledgeable. The prices are very fair and I will continue to use them in the future.

Jay came for estimate and was very informative, answered every question and made it easy to determine the best system for our home. On the installation day Nate & Derek showed up on time and immediately got to work. Everything was done to my satisfaction and they took the time to explain everything they were doing and how the new system worked. I was totally satisfied withthe system and their work and would highly recommend Brewer to anyone looking for a reputable heating & AC contractor.

Our existing furnace and AC units were old but still working. We decided it was time to investigate replacements, doing it while we didn't have a heating or cooling crisis at our house to drive us into action. This was a good decision and made it much more comfortable shopping for this major purchase. I found Brewer H & C on Angie's List and, based solely on their feedback, and made an online request for pricing one evening. I received a call the very next morning from Jay Buckles, one of the Brewer sales reps. He made arrangements to come to the house for an initial look at our existing equipment and to provide general information about options for replacements. Jay arrived at the appointed time, right on time. He looked over our equipment, then went over his observations and our options in great detail. He brought extensive literature and options, explained the capabilities of the products, and pointed out their differences. I explained to Jay that we'd just started our search and weren't in a 'must buy' situation. That made no difference to Jay; I immediately had a sense that he wasn't trying to make a sale, he was simply trying to provide us information. This was nice. So, we had a no-pressure, high-information session with Jay. He promised us pricing with options within a couple days. Pricing was emailed to me as promised and contained all of the information that we needed, particularly when coupled with the product literature Jay had left with us. The pricing was good for 30 days, and of course when we finally decided to do something it was after that time period. Running into the colder months, I wanted to get something done. So, I called Jay, told him we'd decided to proceed with the replacement of our equipment. He honored the original pricing, even though we technically had missed a year-end deal. By the way, I've talked to a lot of people at work who've replaced their equipment when in a crisis, i.e. one of their units failed (of course they always fail at the worst time). They paid a lot more for their units and didn't even get the same quality. My timing and circumstances were better, I was able to take advantage of good seasonal pricing, and the folks at Brewer made that happen. When the day came to install the units, the guys arrived a few minutes early, then proceeded to complete the job well within the committed 5 and 1/2 hour window. When they were done, it was like they were never there. No mess of any kind, just some sparkling new equipment at our house. Since the install, their followup has been excellent, even completing and providing us a rebate form to use with our local power company. And, they included a stamped envelope for us to send it in! They also sent a nice little gift to our house thanking us for our business. My friends, this is the best experience I've had in many years when making a meaningful purchase. Jay was very helpful, very friendly, and their work was simply outstanding. There may be others that do what these people do, but I doubt anyone is doing it better. Superior service deserves a Superior rating, and that's what I'm giving Brewer Heating & Cooling. Very highly recommended.

They did a great job helping us coordinate with our electrician. They were very patient and understanding when we had to reschedule several times. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them. I felt very comfortable with all of their people and never felt like they were trying to get me to buy things I didn't need.

I would HIGHLY recommend Brewer. Isaac came out and explained everything in detail, then his employees came out and did a great job. This is a company that still does what they say they will, which is not too common anymore. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with going with Brewer. They went above and beyond. A+

Lately it was hard to get them here in a timely fashion. I do not know if this was something we need to report or not. They have done really great building the builders were good. They took out all the old and did it properly but having them service it recently it has been a nightmare. I do not if they are having some office issues, repair issues or financial issues. I am getting frustrated trying to get them here to service. They have to come to check and furnace and clean the filters, change the humidity pad and clean outside. The service thing was a pain actually. I would recommend Isaac to build a quality system but lately the servicing has been frustrating to get them to do it on a timely fashion. Apparently they do not want to travel this far and waiting to group all the customers together so by the time the group all the customer I am not necessarily available to let them in the house. Or someone else can cancel and reschedule me too but I am thinking I am still a customer and took the day off for them to come. I am trying to work with them because it was a small company but it was still frustrating. I would be looking for someone else to come and service it. They did two services for the price.

Bill, arrived on time and was more than happy to let me watch him do the service. Very knowledgeable on HVAC and funny too. The problem was I needed 1 pound of freon refrigerant ($100) and a new capacitor ($150). He was also excited to tell me how the AC unit works and which models were the best on the market. Because I am on their service plan every year (~5 years), a discount was given.I trust Bill, Isaac and Brewer Heating Cooling when that say something needs replaces, it does. When they say to keep an eye on it, it will last a season or two more.

Bill McMillan was the service representative that performed my service. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions very thoroughly. He had been out the night before until 10:30 PM on an emergency call yet he showed up right on time at 8 AM in a cheerful, although a little tired, manner. He is a good example of a highly qualified professional and I would highly recommend Brewer Heating & Cooling for all your needs.

Just before we left town for a visit to Georgia, our AC went out. We'd had trouble with it last summer, and I had been advised that the fix might last for several years or it might need replacing this summer. I emailed the company using their website address, and Isaac Brewer came out and looked over the outside unit before we even got back from our trip. He texted with me back and forth to keep me advised, and we made arrangements for him to make another call the morning after we returned. Isaac was very thorough in answering my questions and explaining how the units differed from each other, especially considering my lack of mechanical understanding. I decided on a next-to-the-top-line unit on Friday. Thank goodness the weather was on the chilly side for a few days, but when the temps started to climb, he brought out a cooling unit for our bedroom the very day I called to ask about it, three days later. He advised that Trane had misjudged the demand for the unit I chose, so it might not be until next week for it to come in. Instead of making us wait, though, he substituted the top-of-the-line unit for us at the original price quoted. It was installed today, 4 working days after our original meeting. I really felt like we received exceptional service, as if we were the company's major concern. I am not good at shopping around and having to wait for multiple estimates, but I felt like I could trust Isaac, and also feel that - for the amount of service, promptness, thoroughness, and professionalism he and his colleagues showed us - I got a good deal. I've been advised that there will be follow-up visits to make sure all is well and to make additional service calls included in the price. I also appreciated that all taxes were included in the quoted price.

We bought the annual service warranty. I would use them again.

Brewer was recommended to us when we first came to town and we have been very happy with them. The service man Bill, always takes time to explain his findings and to answer any questions. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. And I already have!

I found them on Angie's List; they gave us a fair price and good service. I will use them again in the future.
