Blakley's Flooring

We put the work off twice because of problems removing a bit of linoleum in one corner and visiting relatives. Mr. Mast did all the work himself, coming every day. He moved furniture which we couldn't lift, sometimes with all three of us lifting and and made sure we had access to rooms beyond the family room. All the cutting of the slate was done outside and no mess was ever left. Because we did not have the baseboard, when he presented us with his bill, he had already removed the charge for that installation. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is a fine person.

They were great! Everyone we came in contact with was very courteous and knowledgeable. They did some work on the floors before they laid the carpet, and re-grouted and sealed the grout. Everything looks great!

The entire experience was good from sales with Susan Blair, George, who came out to measure, Judy, the coordinator and the installation crew were all very pleasant to work with, very professional. I had a slight concern over some of the boards used and they were able to switch them out with no problem. The overall experience was good.

They did a good job. This is the second time that we have used them. We would use them again in the future.

Receptionist was pleasant on phone, connected me to Gayle Adkins the interior designer who came to my condo. Explained was probably going to move within three years so did not want to pay too much. Offered a wide selection on what would be suitable and inexpensive for a 630 sq. ft. area.

In the end I would say I was very satisfied with the final result. But it was a challenge getting there. We were unable to find transition moldings to match our new cork and existing hardwood floors. After shipping the wrong product twice and delays in getting the final correct product, things are finally completed and look great. Through out the process Julie Van Winkle was wonderful to work with and Blakley's made sure things were completed to our satisfaction. The flooring installation team was very knowledgeable and did excellent work. They also were sensitive to the fact that we have 2 toddlers running around. Our carpet installation project was ch alleging as well. It was not completed to our satisfaction at all, with crooked cuts, puckers, etc. But again Blakley's came back and made the situation right. We also had an area rug made that turned out great with NO Problems! Although we had problems Blakley's were very good at correcting the situation in a fairly timely manner.

They helped me pick out carpet and install. They were great!! They cleaned up after themselves and moved the furniture in for us. I felt the price was high.

Gail Black was the representative we dealt with. She was very personable and very willing to answer any questions or concerns I had with carpet in the basement. I would not hesitate to use them again.

We were happy with the service. Communication was good.

Had misunderstandings with the sales person, Gail. Would have had more in writing the next time. She told me the seam in MB would be placed one way, didn't put that on order. Also didn't put on order to tear out the tile in toilet area of bath. And, misquoted the plumbing charge, didn't add in the service call charge of $94.00. Didn't order enough floor covering so had to reorder from out of state, delaying the installation. But, a lady named Jan was incredibly helpful, reacted quickly, and the installers were terrific. It looks lovely. I just wouldn't want to work with Gail again without being very specific and having a copy of all she wrote down.

Everyone was very professional and on time. We were given samples to bring home several times until we found the right type and color. The installers were very timely and cleaned up. They moved the furniture as needed. The only issue was there was an indention in the one room that was not measured so they had to piece carpet together. They did a great job but we only have a 2 x 2 inch piece left for matching.

From the estimate (measuring of my rooms), selection of carpet, to actual installation, it was a very smooth process. Gayle was very accommodating. She worked with the carpet distributor to fit my budget and plan the actual laying of the carpet. My great room carpet has a pattern and required extra carpet in order for it to lay professionally. The installers were pleasant, had a sense of humor, and worked efficiently to get the carpet laid. The installers moved my furniture at no additional cost. They were very accommodating. They moved the over-sized and heavy entertainment center first so I could finish painting behind it while they laid carpet in my master bedroom.

It was a huge job with many decisions to make. We felt that the results were well worth the investment.

The carpet is very nice and the price was reasonable, but the installation was a disaster. They had six people come to install the carpet. There was quite a bit of it and it involved three rooms, a stairway, two hallways, even moving a piano. There were three people when they started out, and another three came by to help later. The thing that was most upsetting is that when I checked my dresser upstairs, the drawers were open and it appeared to have been ransacked. Things were moved from one drawer to another. I felt the sales portion was average, but I am mostly reporting on the experience I had with the carpet installation. The installers were unprofessional and argued a lot during the whole process. I found it very distressing as well.

We had a positive experience with Blakleys on Hague Road. We worked with Angie in the store who helped guide us in our selection of carpet. She listened to what we wanted and guided us in our selection of style, durability, and color. Kent and Brian completed the installation moving all large furniture carefully as they worked. The job was done well. We are very pleased with our new carpeting. We will definitely visit Blakleys again in the future.

They were very helpful and I highly recommend the sales associate, Judy. She let me take carpet samples home and keep as long as I needed. She figured out the savings I would have if I used the July sale or the August sale. She was very knowledgeable about the carpeting and the padding. I feel their pricing was fair, particularly with the sale. The people that install the carpet were very professional and a joy to be around. They completed the work in 2 days. The only negative was that they were very busy and I thought once the carpet came in, it would be installed immediately. They installed it about 3 weeks after the carpeting came in because they were so busy. I think they did a good job and it is quality carpeting.

Blakelys was quick to measure carpet. Rep recommended I save money by not carpeting entire house. They were able to match the EXACT carpet as my condo. They did the work in a week, and, offered 1 year financing. The only issue was they didn't mention carpet seams when we got it priced. We called, concerned about the seams, and they were condescending "of course there will be seams". When they finished though, we couldn't notice a single seam. We would of appreciated a little less attitude, but otherwise it was perfect.

The sales representative was very helpful and friendly. Ms. Adkin made several follow-up calls to make sure everything was correct and to our satisfaction. Installation was done right on time. The crew was very professional and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with our new carpet and highly recommend this company.

They did a beautiful job and were really nice. They were prompt and efficient. They also swept the floor after the old carpet was pulled up. They were pretty understanding. I had an overall good experience with everyone, smooth transaction.

The work was done on time and it still looks wonderful. They did excellent work and the salesperson was very nice and very helpful.

Everything was fine but the carpeting had a flaw. The people who laid the carpeting sent an independent inspector and he was the only one who didn't see it. Blakely's saw what happened and couldn't believe it. They went to bat for us. They called the carpet people and told them that there definitely was a flaw and we got new carpeting yesterday. Blakely's even paid for my piano to be moved. I'd go to Blakely's in a heartbeat.

Our salesperson, Julie, was wonderful to work with. We have used Blakely's 3 times now and have been very satisfied with all the flooring Julie helped us select. The installers were great; moved furniture, worked very hard, and did a really nice job. They cleaned up after themselves and put all the furniture back. They were all polite.

Installers arrived on time, moved heavy furniture, removed old carpet and installed new. Job was done quickly and they cleaned up after. They did scuff a couple of places on the recently painted baseboard, but I was able to touch up without problems. Blakley's sales and customer service staff was friendly and helpful. They called the day before installation and within 30 minutes of installers' arrival. Price was comparable with other providers for similar product.

DEALING WITH OUR SALES PERSON (JUDY) WAS A NIGHTMARE. EVERYTHING SHE TOUCHED WAS A DISASTER. THE PERSON SHE SENT OUT FOR MEASUREMENTS MISCALCULATED SIGNIFICANTLY. WE RE-MEASURED AND SAVED OURSELVES APPROXIMATELY $150. WHEN I WENT IN TO DROP OFF A CHECK, JUDY WAS NOT IN AND ANOTHER SALESPERSON WAS FINALIZING THE PAPERWORK. SHE HAPPENED TO MENTION THE NUMBERS FOR THE VINYLS AND THEY WERE BOTH WRONG. I WAS THERE AN HOUR FIXING THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE INSTALLERS WERE GREAT AND THE FLOORS LOOK GOOD. THE RETAIL MANAGER WAS VERY RECEPTIVE TO ALL OUR PROBLEMS AND COMPENSATED US FOR OUR PROBLEMS.
