Another company botched a $5000.00 job, came out to repair it 3 times, never fixed leak and caused more damage to window fascia. Kusiak came out free of charge, identified the problem and will fix it AND the other damage the previous company did for a minimal fee to be paid by the other company. We love them and have been suggesting them to all our neighbors. Very good prices AND exceptional work. They are one in a few companies that actually care about ALL its customers, not just in it for the money!

Bob is very responsive and was excellent to work with. We rent our house for short-term, mostly weekend rentals, and didn't have a lot of time to complete our projects. We explained our window of time to Bob, and he helped us get everything done to make sure our home was ready when the summer rental season started. We replaced the jalousie windows in our three seasons room with new argon gas windows, and had them cut into the concrete block to install a sliding glass door. The trim looks excellent on the outside of the house, and Steel City did a great job with windows and trim on the inside, including the threshold under the sliding glass door. Steel City was able to do the work we needed, when we needed it, and for a fair price and terms. We had a couple minor issues with subcontractor workmanship dealing with drywall and framing, but Bob and his subs were all very responsive and all came back to fix the problems in a timely fashion, with no questions asked. Considering the time restrictions we were working under, mistakes do happen and I am glad that they were all relatively minor and were fixed quickly. His plumber is excellent and we will be using him from now for all of our plumbing needs.

They went all right and went well. They did what they said they were going to do. They did a good work. The first time I used Dave was, I have some rental property that I had a house remodeled and he did an excellent job. The price was reasonable. The reason I started with Dave is because he went to grade school with my daughter. I knew him since he was in 4th grade with my daughter, so I have known him for quite a while. He is not over priced and does a good job. He cleaned up and he was gone. It was a fair price for what he did. I have referred other people to him. I would like to support the local people. The price is very competitive.

Everything went as planned and very little mess could be seen after the crew left. I had two kinds of insulation added to my attic and one of them was the type that is blown into the attic. It can be very messy and the crew made sure to keep that to a minimum.

Everything was very professionally done, with minimal disruption. The workmen were friendly, prompt and neat, cleaning up each day of a 5 day project so we could use the room during the renovation. We are very happy with the finished product. I would submit photos, but I don't see a place or directions to be able to do that.

They were good and did good work. They kept to their schedule and price.

They were awesome. They have been just wonderful. We couldn't complaint about any of them. Everything was fantastic. It went together like it was supposed to be. They were so conscientious that they even put the sticky tape runner by the front door so they wouldn't drag anything in. They hired plumbers and electricians together with inside and outside contractors. The house was built in 1919. We are extremely pleased. They matched all the fixtures including the shower rod. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

It went very good. They improved on everything. They were very prompt and fast.

Awesome work on this big job. Bob was very responsive to my requests, and spent a lot of time with us upfront in the planning stage. The crew was in the house for multiple weeks. They were courteous and quiet. The end result is beautiful. I could not be more pleased.

It went very well from start to finish. We chose Kusiak because we felt confident that they understood what we wanted and they knew how to build to match the original design and character of our house. Our house had only a concrete stoop and small overhang....we now have a beautiful front porch that goes across the whole front of the house. They added a roof over the porch and re-shingled the existing roof for a line that gives not only a seamless look connecting the old with the new but should prevent any weather damage or leaks. They also re-sided our dormer windows and saved the old siding to use to patch other places. This saved us money. We were also pleased that Kusiak didn't try to talk us into more than we needed or more than we could financially handle. Every crew that performed the work (carpentry, siders, roofers, electricians, etc) were friendly, efficient and left the work site clean and orderly on a daily basis. We were kept up to date on any weather or material delays. We are very happy with the results. It has given a whole new look to our house and more space to enjoy it.

We spoke with them three times and nobody ever showed up for the estimate or called to reschedule.

Very responsive and came to the house same day as call to see work to be bid. Estimate in less than 24 hours. Excellent followup and communications by Lisa [office] and Bob [owner]. Work was very high quality and Bud [master carpenter] made every effort to provide us the best possible repair, not just meet the letter of the contract. I would recommend them for any remodeling / repair work and would use there services again in the future.

They did an excellent job, and I would work with them again for any future jobs that need to be done at my home.

They were fantastic. Out of all the estimates that we got we chose them because the contractor was the most personable and they gave us best estimate and they stuck to it.

Cesar arrived on time each morning (7:00). He started ripping out the old carpeting and measuring and moving the stove, ice box and a cabinet. When Adam arrived, they started on the floor. They gave me time to wipe down the stove and ice box (you know how dirty they get). They were so good - cleaning every step of the way - pleasant in everything they did. They had to replace a couple of gas cables, some vent covers and a plumbing issue in the laundry room with a deep sink. They were wonderful and worked very hard. Cesar worked about 12 hours the first day and the second day just took a couple of hours. I thanked them over and over for taking such great care of me. I will thank Bob when I see him. I DEFINATELY will recommend them and use them again when I have a project.

I needed to have 2 coats on the ceiling and walls. Very expensive estimate. He's so far out of line. He used a tape measurer to calculate the price. I wouldn't recommend him. Closest $1,225.00 Kitchen Living Room +/- $3,000.00 Bedrooms $1,521.00

Crew showed up every day on time. Did the work as promised.Excellent experience.

I found them on Angie's List. They were really good. He did the job in one day. The guy was really awesome. They were really quick. We conducted most of our transactions over email and that was really good. He was really available. I got his personal cell phone number; I could call him. So it was pretty cool. His guys were rough construction guys, but they were polite with my staff. With regard to price, he is a little high, but I got what I paid for.

Great! Came out same day for an estimate.. Then did the repairs that same week. Was quick and easy!

Signed the contract and they were to start approximately November 1, 2012. They were finally going to start on December 4, but the wrong siding had been ordered and delivered. The new siding was delivered on December 10, and the start was to be the afternoon of December 11, or December 12, FOR SURE. They finally showed on December 14, afternoon. All these missed days had been beautiful. They then worked December 17, 18, and 19, before breaking for the holidays. They again showed up on December 26, 27 and 28. Holidays again and some bad weather until January 15, 2013 when they showed up and finished. We all agreed to leave the shutters unhung because of the cold and the danger on a porch roof they would have to be working on to hang some of them. I was supposed to be put on a list to have the shutters hung when the weather turned warmer again. The weather got warm enough and I waited and waited---until April 29, when I called again and was told I would be put on a list. On May 17, 2013, four months and two days after the job was finished, I noticed the top row of siding was falling off all around the house. It was late but I called and left a message. They called the next morning, Saturday, and said "someone would be out Monday morning". That was this morning and no one showed. I called at about 11:45 AM and no one there even knew about it. They called back and said Dave Kusiak would be in about 1PM. He called about 2:45PM. I was civil until he tried to tell me that the weather only got warm enough the week before for the shutters anyway. I blew my top. He didn't care at all about no one showing up this morning and how it had disrupted mine and my husband's schedule. He said he was going to send the same guy out who had installed it and I told him I've had enough of the way that guy does things. I expect someone else who knows what they are doing to come and fix it. They also never called the town for the final inspection. The inspector will be out tomorrow.

Painting and vinyl repair A+ I had some questions about the work on the door work and they were very patient to explain things and do the extra work I asked of them.

Job was done well and in a proffesional manner! I was happy with the installers work and my finished project!

I called Steel City and scheduled an appointment for an estimate on the doors. Easy peasy. Bob came out (he was EARLY...a very good sign!). I explained what I wanted, he took the measurements. We quickly went over some styles in a catalog that he had (I was rushing...had to get back to work). A few days later, I called with the type of doors I wanted and set up the installation date. As fate would have it, the day before installation, I was hospitalized. Bob and Steel City didn't miss a beat! He called to confirm installation and I informed him that I was in the hospital. After wishing me well, he said "No problem. Call me back when you're better and we'll get those doors installed". The doors were installed about a week later. Bob came with the installer and made sure we were all clear on the installation. He and the installer arrived on time...actually if memory serves me correctly, I believe they beat me to the house! Everything went smoothly. The installer took his lunch and came back in about a 1/2 hour...I've had workers who've gone to lunch and took forever to come back! But not this guy...came back and picked right up where he left off. I was beyond impressed with Bob/Steel City. What I really liked & appreciated was that Bob LISTENED to what I wanted and my concerns about cost. Two other companies tried to over/up sale me, but not Bob. And I truly appreciate that. I probably could have gone with another company that cost less overall, but they were very slow in responding, didn't show up or call for the first scheduled estimate, and were late for the second appointment! I did not have any of those problems with Steel City...they did good business from start to finish! I have more work that I need done on my home and Steel City will definitely be at the top of my list!

For the most part they did a pretty good job and were reasonable in price. Sometimes they didn't show up when they were supposed to and I would have to call them to check in. They were kind to me and did good roofing work.
