Description of Work: Hire Cox. You will be pleased. I originally hired a contractor - on recommendation from a realtor - who completely botched refinishing my floors. I then hired Cox to fix it. They are talented at what they do! I am planning on hiring Cox for my next project installing flooring. They are simple terrific and I have no idea how they would ever warrant a bad grade on Angie's List and would have to chalk it up to difficult customers.

Description of Work: They sanded and varnished our existing hardwood floors. They were meticulous in protecting our home from all the dust. The floors look even better then I could have hoped for.

Description of Work: They arrived on time. They did an excellent job of sanding and refinishing our floor as well as replacing some damaged wood and completed the job when they said they would. This is the second time Cox Hardwood Flooring has refinished floors for us.

Description of Work: We had our hardwoods on the first floor sanded and refinished. This included our foyer, family room, kitchen, eating area and back hallway. We contracted with them in August and their next available slot was November - so call early. Once we had the work done we realized why the wait was so long - top notch work! They arrived when scheduled and worked with us to ensure the least possible disruption to our busy family. We had them sand out the v grooves in between our slats - what a difference that makes!! It was definitely worth the extra money - No more spills to dig out of cracks! We were able to stay at our home over the weekend in between the sanding and staining - a huge blessing to us. Mark sampled various stains and ended up mixing two colors for us - the result is beautiful. We went from old, weathered orange-hued hardwoods to beautiful brown floors. You would never know these floors were 18 years old. I can't say enough good things about cox flooring.

Description of Work: I had hardwood floor installed in my dining room and then the remaining floors sanded and restained. They did a fabulous job. They put up plastic to all the room/closet openings to minimize dust from spreading throughout the house and did a good job of not getting stain on the carpet where it met the wood flooring. They were able to do all this keeping the floor moulding in place and I only had a few touch ups to do where some stain did seep onto the moulding. They worked with me to try out different stain color combinations until I got the one I wanted. They were prompt and professional and their rates were lower than some other companies I got quotes from. They also cleaned up the area well. I had to wait a few months to get on their calendar but it was worth it since the floors look perfect since I had to have grooves sanded down flush. I did have to move out for a few days since they used oil based polyurethene which takes longer to dry. I would use them again and will recommend them to my neighbors.
