Legacy Heating & Air Conditioning

Heater started to make a strange sound a few weeks ago and was slow to start. Then started to make a horrible screeching noise and did not start - I immediately turned off. Called Legacy in the morning and they were here in about 1 hour. Tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. He had the unit sounding smooth within 20 minutes after working on the bearings and flame unit. I was expecting a possible a big repair job. Kudos to Legacy and their honest work ethic. They definitely have my future business!

The inspection and preventative maintenance was completed promptly.

The whole experience was pleasant. They were professional and very polite. Once the work began , the sales rep (Damion) stopped by multiple times to check on the progress and to make sure we were happy with the services provided. John and Tim were the ones that did the most work on the project. They did their best to keep our house as clean as they possibly could. The one draw back of the whole experience was the gas company installing a line to our house. Legacy was more than helpful with this process, they even contacted gas company on our behalf. All in all we are very happy with the service provided and would not hesitate to recommend Legacy.

Furnace would not work. I did my research on here, and Legacy got great reviews. I called them and they was here within an hour. Greg my tech was very nice and hellpful. He explained everything very well. It was an easy fix, the flame sensor was just dirty. Legacy is family owner and operated, which I like. I will highly recommend them.

It was 3 degrees the day my heater started going in and out. The lady on the phone got the repair guy out the same day. He was quick, on time and told me exactly what he was doing. He recommended some additional services for the spring time, which we will probably take them up on. Overall, great experience.

My girlfriend's furnace went out over the New Year Holiday. Since she was on vacation after that and I had to return to work on the 2nd of January, I selected four HVAC contractors that were highly rated on Angie's List for her to call. Three of the companies responded immediately with estimates to replace the furnace and add central air to the house. Legacy just so happened to be the highest quote, although still very competitive, out of the three quotes. However, when it came to explaining to my girlfriend what her options were and what type of equipment was needed, my girlfriend was able to understand the Legacy representative the best. Legacy was very thorough in their estimate and seemed to be the most knowledgeable of the type of furnace and central air unit that was required for the house. Legacy also offered the longest warranty for parts and labor both, which states how confident they are in their proposal and their work. Since the furnace was broke in the middle of winter, Legacy showed up to install the new furnace on the 3rd of January, less than 24 hours after receiving our call for a quote. All of their employees were extremely polite and professional. After the installation, one of their employees went over the operation of the new system with my girlfriend who was able to understand everything that their employee explained. Legacy is a top notch company who knows what they are doing and knows how to explain things in laymen's terms to someone who would have no idea about HVAC systems. Legacy will be highly recommended by us in the future and they will be our first call on future HVAC needs. We have experienced first hand why Legacy is so highly rated on this website.

Arrived on time, were professional, kept me informed about their progress--applied my Angie's list coupon and were finished. Composure even called for a follow up evaluation. Top notch

Our 22 y/o furnace and AC reached the end of it's life, so I researched brands and service providers. I picked 5 of the top rated companies on Angie's list for quotes and recommendations. I also did extensive research on brands of systems. I advise any prospective buyer to make use of the websites out there that review HVAC brands. There are a few sites where the reviews are from professional installers, not the end users. End users tend to not be as well informed, and have much less experience with the different brands. All of the companies were very professional, but Legacy by far made me feel the most comfortable, and with no 'sales pressure' at all. They patiently answered all of my subsequent questions, as I wanted to make sure I was comparing apples to apples. With Rheem being a top rated system, and Legacy providing experience and a good history, the choice was easy to make. The installation went exactly as promised, and both installers were very friendly and professional. It's only been a few weeks, but we're already very satisfied with the system. The staff at Legacy provided great follow up and showed absolute concern for the service they had provided. It's not often, as a consumer, we get to interface with a company like this!

Our heat was out, so I called Legacy and they sent Greg out within the same hour! All it turned out to be was a flame sensor that was out. Greg showed us how to sand it down and put it back, so that if that happens again, we will know how to fix it!

The estimator was nice and seemed to very quickly size up the job and said he would give me options, which I inquired about for alternatives to changing my ductwork. He told me to call him if I had any further questions or concerns. The estimate came in a timely manner in the mail a few days later with all the quotes we had talked about on one sheet. Since this was a huge change for me to revamp my whole heating system involving thousands of dollars, it required a lot of thought on my part of exactly what course to take as well as evaluating the benefits and pitfalls of each possible scenario. I wasn't even sure of what questions to call and ask about. Their estimates were excellent on price but brief and not very detailed on the specifics of what exactly was included, as compared to other companies written estimates I received. I don't remember any follow up from this company to make sure I received the estimate or to see if had any questions or concerns. As this was a big job for me to consider I did get other estimates and most of them were pretty detailed on what the quotes included as well as following up on the phone with me. I very much wanted to consider this company. I had checked with someone who used them in the past and gave them a good recommedation. The product line seemed good and with their experience in the industry and yrs. in business this company was a good possibility, however I wasn't sure they really wanted to do the job or have time to do it. Other companies response and thoroughness along with Consumer Reports on product line convinced me to choose someone else. If I have other needs that this company offers I may consider them again. One experience doesn't completely reflect their entire company at all times.

Middle of a heat wave and the AC quit. Called at 6 PM on Monday at they were at my house by 1030AM Tuesday. I explained to Greg what was happening and he quickly troubleshot the problem to a chaffed wire on the outside compressor that was grounding out. The problem was fixed in less that an hour and he pointed out an online coupon that saved me $25. Very good job overall

Ok, Very professional. spent a lot of time trouble shooting the problem and isolated it to a fuse that was blowing on the furnace blower control board. Replaced some frayed wires outside but could not get the problem to consistently occur and so could provide a complete fix. He thought it could be the main circuit board and gave me some fuses in case it happened again and it did the next summer.

My A/C had stopped working due to the extreme heat. I did several "tests" to see if I could get it to kick back on before calling for help. After trying to completely turn off the unit for 24 hours, then restarting it (in case coils might have froze up), as well as going out and cleaning any grime from the outside of the unit that have caused overheating, the blower in the house worked (warm air only), but the outside unit was not moving but only making a buzzing/humming sound. I called Legacy and was greeting by friendly, professional staff who listened as I explained what I was experiencing. After describing what I had tried, They got me on the calendar the next day, which was great considering the huge workload they had from the extreme temperatures and resulting failure of many people's A/Cs. My technician (Greg) quickly identified the problem (bad capacitor) and replaced promptly. He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. He also noticed another electrical issue needing attention due to the recent storm, and let me know it needed immediate attention. I appreciated that immensely. It only took Greg about half an hour to get the A/C repaired. Then he made sure I knew that my current temp in the house (94 at that time) could require 1 to 2 hours to bring down 1 degree, so not to expect cooling to happen all at once. It was nice to know exactly what to expect so I wouldn't worry that something was still wrong. The office staff also let me know of a coupon available at the time of my repair, so I was able to save some money off my bill, which was very much appreciated. All in all, I will be calling Legacy if I need help again. THANK YOU, Legacy, for bringing my family and I relief during this heat wave. And bless your hearts for working such long hours to help as many people as possible.

Called in the morning when they opened up. they were here by 1:00pm. Diagnosed and repaired outside unit. Very professionable and reasonablly priced.

Legacy did not diagnose the problem correctly and had I gone with their recommendations, I would have spent $1100 and my air conditioner would still not work.

Our air conditioner stopped working last fall, and we were told by another company that it would cost more than it was worth to repair it. In fact, they said they wouldn't even be able to find parts for it because it was so old. So this spring, we started asking for estimates to replace it, along with our furnace. Fortunately, Legacy was the first company that came for an estimate. One of the owners arrived, heard our story, and asked to look at the furnace and AC. After looking at it, he said they would be able to obtain the part needed and repair it. He offered to throw in a year's service contract along with the repair. Our air conditioner was repaired and cooling our home in just a few days. Legacy kept all appointments promptly, and all the personnel were friendly and professional. It is a given that Legacy will be the company from whom we will buy a furnace and air conditioner when the time comes. I heartily recommend this company.

Read above. One quarter of the job was done before they left. Are finishing two weeks later.

They were very responsive. When I had a problem late at night, they spent someone out right away. It was like 9 o'clock on a Friday night. They even had to call the parts guy at home. For what they did and with warranty, I think the price is reasonable.

They’re prompt, and when I call them for a problem they’re usually here within the day or the next day. I’ve never had any problems with them. They seemed to know what they were doing. I would continue to use them in the future.

Very prompt from initial call to get to the job. Needed a follow up visit for a non-stock repair part I provided but they were very prompt in scheduling follow up and service performed. Competed installation of new part as expected. Technician was courteous and knowledgeable. Furnace condensation drain now works properly with no leaks.

Everything went very well, only issue was that there was about 2 weeks from the time I made the appointment before they could work me in. But that actually worked out great since the day they came out was MLK Day and I didn't have to work.

Overall I had a great experience with Legacy Heating & A/C. Highly recommended!! This morning a Legacy service tech visited my home to check out my furnace and central humidifier. I had concerns because I had experienced a burnt type of smell coming from one of my heating vents after turning on my furnace after the summer months. Also, I wanted to find out how to maintain my furnace & humidifer myself (i.e. where to replace filters, water panel). The tech was extremely friendly, personable, professional and knowledgeable- with over 10 years of experience. He pointed out all the things I should look for to keep my furnace & humidifer running in good order. I used an Angie's list coupon- only $69 for a tune-up for close to 2 hours of work (+$12 for a replacement filter). What a great deal! Legacy seems like they are a very reputable, quality-oriented, customer-friendly company (and they're a local business too!).

I definitely would not recommend them. It was not a good experience and they got of my ways in couple of ways. They didn’t do what they said they were going to be doing. The one thing that I remember is that when you have a service contract with them like you pay annual fee and they do the A/c, tune up in the spring, tune up in the fall and then you also get discounts on the services after that. They pretty much mark up their price and say that they do only this specifically. I would not use them again.
