We purchased a new home and have two small children. We have a corner lot and were in desperate need of a fence to keep the kids in the yard. We received three estimates from larger companies in the area and were not thrilled with their prices nor their fencing material options. Rob (Backyard Solutions) happened to be doing a fence for one of our direct neighbors and my husband approached him for an estimate since the neighbor's looked so great. Rob gave us a comparable quote, but less than the larger companies, and his building materials were far superior. He did an amazing job, was just so nice and professional. He built the fence by hand on-site, no prefab panels, and is very detail oriented. Our neighborhood association is quite strict on fencing and he was very willing to work within those guidelines and help us make a good decision while keeping the fence very attractive. We are thrilled!! He was a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend Backyard Solutions.

Rob Ward (owner and installer) came out and went over our ideas about fencing in our backyard which includes a swimming pool. We didn't know at that time if we wanted to fence in the whole yard or just the swimming pool so Rob went over with us the fencing, what it would look like and gave us an estimate for both so we could decide what to do. After we decided on the whole fence project, Rob ordered the materials and when they arrived he came out and installed the fence. We liked the fact that Rob was the owner and installer and we didn't have to deal with installers we didn't know or couldn't communicate with.

It was great. They were quick to come out and give us an estimate. They were great about explaining the different options. The did a good job putting the fence up.

He works for himself, and we found he was an extremely hard efficient worker. He completed the project when he said he would. Our dogs and kids are really enjoying the freedom of fenced yards. He also had the best estimate.

It went great. Rob's was the first estimate we received and he quickly responded when I emailed him with questions based on others' estimates (in order to make an apples to apples comparison). He was comparably priced to others and I liked the fact that he did the work himself. He understood what we were trying to do, and offered aesthetically pleasing solutions for the uneven areas. The posts were placed on one day, and the entire fence was up in another. It looks great (and smells great too). He also has a relationship with surveying company so that there was a $25 discount off of their work.

We have a hilly area, very wooded with some hard conditions. They had to deal with a lot of roots. Their workmanship was excellent. He came the day he was supposed to be here He and his workers were very professional and courteous. His work was just excellent. I get raving reviews on the fence and I would recommend him to everybody. His price was very reasonable compared to other pricing i had received.

Rob was very professional, courteous, and had no problem coming after normal working hours to measure and give an estimate. He also stayed late one night to help me find my yard markers! He took the time to point out how at least one popular company on the list that starts with a G , toenails the 2 x 4s to the 4 x 4s, which will pull apart as the wood dries. Of the 3 companies we received estimates from, Rob's estimate was easily the lowest and I assure you the work is very good quality. He is also very fast for just one person (no team of illegals doing the work). I highly recommend Backyard Solutions.

Came out and gave estimate. They were friendly and professional. We just decided not to have the work done. They were punctual and professional.

Rob Ward was great. He was professional, friendly, and courteous. Great work ethic too-he worked one day in pouring rain even though we wouldn't have minded if he had decided to postpone for that day. Fence was installed quickly and looks great. He was also the lowest-priced estimate of the 4 or 5 quotes we got.

Rob came out to give an estimate exactly when he said he would, and his was the most inexpensive of the 4 estimates I received. He came and set the posts on a Monday and by Thursday the fence was complete. He even tied together a gap in the existing fence for no charge. I was very happy with the work and will recommend Backyard Solutions to my friends.

I emailed Rob and asked for an estimate on a Wednesday, and he got back to me immediately and we set up a time for him to come out on Friday. He gave me an estimate which was within $10 of the other estimate I had received. He was on time for the meeting, and he brought along a picture book of all the fences he had done before. It was a very nice sample of his work. His estimate included removing and disposing of the chain link fence, and putting up the new fence. We set up a time for him to do the fence, and he came out and put the posts up one day, and then came back later that week (per our agreement) and put the fence up. Putting the fence up only took him half a day, and he nailed each board on individually, and then scalloped the fence with a saw by hand. It looks PERFECT. In a few months, I will be able to stain it (the wood has to weather a bit first) and then it will look seamless. Rob was very polite and professional and I could not have asked him to do a better job.

Rob outlined the design options available to address my conceptual needs. He was great in steering me through variables such as types of fencing available; location of fencing; installation of fencing around garage entry door on concrete. He also advised me how to address a tricky issue where my neighbor had unknowingly installed landscaping on part of my backyard- the discounted survey Rob recommended and a conversation I had with my neighbor resolved the situation and my neighbor and I remain friends. The lead time Rob estimated to receive fencing material and install was spot on. Rob followed up with me on a final walk-through after the job was completed.

Mr. Ward arrived promptly for an estimate, and was very easy to work with. He showed us several styles of fencing and examples of his work. We went through a final walk-through to establish the exact line for the fence and placement of the gates once we hired him for the job. (His estimate was far below the two other Angie's List A rated companies from which we accepted bids.) He called at least two days in advance of starting the project and arrived at the time scheduled. Mr. Ward set all the posts himself and did not use a crew. He had another worker help him install the rails. The overall experience was a very good one.

Upon a call for an estimate, Rob timely came over and measured the property. He was able to give an estimate on the spot. After receiving numerous quotes, Backyard Solutions offered the best value at the best price. The job was completed in a total of 4 days (1 day for posts and 3 days to build the fence). Rob was very detailed and professional during his work on the job. All materials were cleaned up daily. They even removed some of the brush that I had cut to make room for the fence. I have given numerous people recommendations to use Backyard Solutions for their fencing needs.

Rob returned our calls promptly and arrived as scheduled to give us an estimate. Afterward, we made a change to the plan and he promptly came out a second time to revise the estimate. The job was completed within the time stated. The fence is well built and looks great.

Rob communicates very well about the overall project. He was very helpful in choosing the right fencing for our needs.

Rob is wonderful to work with. He knows his fences. His was knowledgeable, friendly and easy to understand. His quote was right in line with other larger companies, but his professionalism, attention to detail and availability was key. He is true to his word; the fence cost what he said it would, he was there on the days he said he would be there and it was done on time. A very trustworthy guy. Even when working when conditions were rainy and not that pleasant, he was there to complete the job. The fence looks beautiful; many compliments have come from our neighbors. We can only hope to forward business to such a worthy recipient. Thanks, Rob!

Rob responded to our first inquiry very quickly, came out and we walked the perimeter and then discussed our requirements and his approach to fencing construction. We got an estimate from another fencer, which was much higher and the approach/materials available were not as in line with our needs as Rob's. The grade of materials that Rob used was equal to or higher than our expectations. The project included two 12 foot gates, which were superior to what we had in place previously. We were extremely pleased on all counts. If not the best project experience we've ever had, it's in the top 3.

Rob was prompt in responding to calls and questions; he was reasonably priced; stuck to his timeliness; let us know how the weather would affect the progress of the work. Fence was completed on time and to our satisfaction.

Rob was wonderful, very helpful in every way, and we will definitely recommend him to everyone we know.

Overall craftsmanship, workmanship, quality and labor was excellent as was the price. I had 3 other estimates and Backyard solutions was the most reasonable by far as well as the best quality.
