Appel Heating & Air Conditioning

I have used Appel for several years. They have always done excellent work at a competitive price. This time was no exception. Came when they said they would and did an excellent job.

I called the company at 4;45 and they were at my house the same day at 8;00am. They were great, my thermostat was broken and they helped me get it replaced under the warranty. They were kind, professional, and prompt I will use them again in the future.

The technician was punctual and very efficient. He explained what was wrong with the A/C and what needed to be repaired. Since the A-coil was leaking refrigerant and could not be repaired, a new coil was needed. I had forgotten that I purchased the extended warranty which the technician reminded me. Since parts and labor were under that warranty, I paid nothing to have the coil replace, the system charged and tested.

They're very timely. Cost-wise, they did a good job. I had an issue come up within the 30 days and they honored their 30-day guarantee which was nice. I thought it was very honorable that they stood by their word and their work.

Our A/C failed on Friday morning, and we were going into one of the hottest weekends of the summer. The Appel tech came same day to diagnose the problem. After discovering our compressor was shot, the sales team came out to our house after normal business hours to go over costs and options. Once we agreed that a new unit was to be installed, the tech went back to their office and brought us some window units to help get us through the hot weekend (they were pretty old, but took the edge off in the upstairs bedrooms). Install happened on Monday morning and the installers arrived promptly. The service was excellent and they went above and beyond. For example, the installers thought they smelled natural gas in our basement, investigated, and found a small gas leak on our main line. They let us know and did not charge us to repair. I have had other installers in our basement recently, and none of them demonstrated that kind of quality (you get what you pay for). I would recommend Appel for any HVAC issues.

They did an excellent job with that. They are prompt in taking care of any issues. We would definitely use them again.

I called Appel because the furnace had stopped working. The service representative found that the igniter had failed. In addition the circuit board also failed. The circuit board had been replaced previously. The repairman was very thorough in evaluating the problems and spent a lot of time. Since the repair estimate was $600 to $800 and the furnace had been repaired several times, I requested an estimate for a new furnace. Appel sales rep, Nat provided information regarding the best furnace for my situation and the cost estimate. He also made me aware of the rebate available from the gas company and provided the forms to apply for the rebate. All of Appel employees were professional and prompt. The furnace installers were careful about my floors and walls and ensured that everything was cleaned up. So far I'm happy with the furnace and will continue to use Appel in the future whenever needed.

They did the repair promptly. They were very clean. They are a lovely company to work with. They provided a second opinion on my furnace and determined that I did not need to replace it. Even the owner came out and verified the second opinion. He was very nice. The price was very reasonable.

Participation in their seasonal inspection service is a great value.

Appel sent someone out every day to work on the system to find the issue and did determine the cause. They were very professional and nice and really wanted to get the heat back on. Kudos to all at Appel.

Very nice group of people to work with.

They've been the service provider here for some years. I like that they tell me when they're coming. They're punctual, they make an effort not to trample the plantings around in the center of the air conditioning units. They cleaned up after themselves and we're happy with them. I have no complaints. There was one time wherein there was a rattle in the air conditioning unit and they were out within a couple of hours and basically it was a loose panel and they did what they had to do. I guess tighten the screws or something and then they went away. They're good.

My wife and I are in Florida, the house was locked My son checked the house periodically. He found on Sunday 1/11/15 the temp inside was 48 deg when it should have been 66.. We called Appel. A tech was at the house within 1 hour - the furnace needed to be replaced. The work was scheduled for the next day, Monday, at 9:00. Appel installed the new furnace just before the outside temp was forecasted to drop below zero. The service was prompt and friendly. The tech came out on a football playoff Sunday! The new furnace was installed as promised on Monday 1/12/15. When my son checked the house later Monday the inside temp was 68 deg. The level of service was just outstanding. Appel has earned our gratitude and has a committed customer.

It went well. Service person was early. He went straight to work - did not find any issues. Identified a mystery part as being part of the previous furnace.
