Appel Heating & Air Conditioning

We have been using Appel for a number of years. They installed both our furnace and airconditioner unit. AND each year we pay for a survice policy that includes cleaning and checking the units. We pay the lower price and have these units checked in the "off" season to save a bit of money. This trip was for the furance cleaning and checking and humidifier checking and filters checked and replace (when needed). Our technician was Randy. He is very polite and efficient. Every trip in and out of our home he puts on booties when re-entering the home. In the past when we have had some service needs outside of the "off" season time we just call and a technician is sent out. We even got help on the 4th of July once at no extra charge! The people in their office who schedule are really nice and follow up whenever that is necessary.

Excellent service. We've had them since 1968. They have always been wonderful. They are like old friends.

Got quotes from several companies found through Angie's List, but went with Appel. Price was within range of other companies. Appel was a company on Angie's highly rated list, but also pleased that I could support a family-owned business. During the quote process, Scott was very upfront on what I needed for my smaller house and didn't try to sell me too much furnace. He wasn't pushy and didn't force me to make a decision then. He followed up after about a month, but again didn't push. When time for the installation, the workers arrived on time, were professional, and completed the job in timely manner. Very pleased with the quality of the work. They cleaned up the area in the basement as well. Only drawback was the worker smoked outside while doing his cutting and prep work for the furnace installation. Slight issue, but wouldn't prevent me from using them again.

The service with them is great. We have used them for years and they have been wonderful. They are prompt, neat, knowledgeable, and always keep appointments.

This was for my annual furnace cleaning and service. They were on time, and did their usual great job.

Pricing was competitive.Followup and scheduling were good. Dwayne did a good job installing and explaining needed information. Appel has serviced our HVAC for a numer of years and this work was consistent with what we have come to expect.

DOs: Arrive on time, are knowledgable, polite, dress in clean uniforms, work as quietly as possible, respect your property. Give complete estimates and do job at estimated price. Do go over operating features/instructions and answer questions. DON'Ts: Don't waste time (Yours/Theirs). Have the process in proper order to not waste time/effort. Job was scheduled for a max of 10 hours was completed in 8. Don't leave doors/storm doors standing or blocked open resulting is colder home during replacement process. Don't forget that you are the customer and they the provider and are fortunate to have your business. Thanks are given for your business at all levels.

The discount for cash. They do a follow-up inspection.

The Appell technician came in to evaluate our system. He had to call in a master technician to assist with the diagnosis. Once they figured out the problem, they advised us of the solution, and the cost. We approved the work, and they ordered the parts needed to repair our system. By the end of the week, the parts were in & the technician came out to install. Their level of knowledge, professionalism and quality of work was outstanding. Appell is the 1st company I will call, the next time we need service.

The service went well. They were very efficient and communicated well. Everything was very good. They did not pressure me to buy anything.

Our AC went out sometime yesterday and I called Appel this morning around 11am. They were able to schedule me for late this afternoon, and then called back about 45 minutes later to say a service tech was in the area and available immediately if I could accommodate him. Chris arrived about 15 minutes later, was very professional and kind, and got right to work. The problem turned out to be a bad capacitor and the whole repair took less than an hour. Chris then offered us a service package contract good for one year, and said the company would call us when it was time to schedule those appointments, instead of us needing to remember to call them. I thought this was a great feature so we took the service contract as well. I am very pleased I chose Appel. Amy, who scheduled us, was very helpful over the phone, and Chris, the tech, did an excellent job taking care of our unit.

Everything went well. The technicians did have to return a couple of times, but they did a good job overall.

The scheduler at Appel was very considerate. I had a scheduled lunch date, and she worked around my schedule by having the technician start outdoors. How thoughtful was that! We have been long-time customers of Appel for a reason - they are courteous, knowledgeable and very professional!

I am on a yearly contract with them and will use them again in the future.

We chose Appel Heating for their warranties. And the salesman. We got 3 bids and so that's how we chose them. And for their reputation.

Well worth the extra money because our bills are amazingly low. We got exactly what we wanted. Great service, no problems whatsoever. Price was very reasonable because we used to have another company who just gouged us.

They were very courteous and on time. They were very professional. I didn’t have any problems with them. I will use them again in the future.

The boiler in the home I was planning to purchase was not drafting properly and the pressure relief valve was leaking. Appel was hired by the seller to fix these issues. Upon recieving possetion of the home it does appear to be drafting properly but the relief valve still leaks. I contacted Appel, the person who answered the phone could not help me but a manager called me back the same day. It was explained to me that the relief valve is functioning properly in that if the unit was to over-pressurize it would properly open and relieve the pressure. I followed up with another company who agrees with me. A pressure relief valve should hold back water when it is in the closed position. Who would want an appliance in their house of any kind that leaks water on the floor?

We have a contract with Appel Heating & Air Conditioning and we have used them for many years. I would recommend Appel Heating & Air Conditioning because they are honest with us, give us the information we need and have been a good service provider. I cant think of anything I have been dissatisfied with. I would give them an A rating and will use them in the future.

The first technician that serviced my units was fine. Unfortunately, it was too cold to service the A/C, so they sent a different technician to complete the AC work. The technician told me that my AC unit wasn't charged and that upon further investigation, he found the following: - The coil needed to be replaced - $1,200 - The blower wheel needed to be replaced - $420 - The unit needed to be recharged - $18/pound of refrigerant The technician also told me that given the age of the unit (10 years), he couldn't guarantee that it would even last a week and that what i should really do is buy a new unit for $3,000 and that he would have one of their salespersons call me. So, here's what I actually spent through Pen Air. - Replace the coil - $620 - replace the bloser wheel - $0 - it really just needed to be tightened - replace the refrigerant - $0 - included in the coil work When dealing with Appel, i felt like my car had broken down in the deep south and i was dealing with a shady auto repairman. Needless to say i will NEVER go to Appel again. I recommend that other take a serious look at the ethics of who they are dealing with because they flat out LIED to me!

I have a platinum service contract and I pay $200 a year. They come out in the spring and fall. I've been using their services for 13 years. I'm happy with their service. They're very punctual.
