MIDAS AUTO SVC EXPERTS

I had an issue with my car that it used to start vibrating after starting the car. I called upon this shop and asked I could could walk in for the diagnosis and an estimate. I was told that I could come right then and they would accommodate me. When I drove there I was told by the gentleman (who was very rude and arrogant throughout the process) that all the technicians were busy and did not have any time and advised me to come later during the day. When I drove there later during the day, I was told that the running the diagnostics on 'check engine light' would be $115 (for an hour). Firstly, all other shops do this free of charge. And hourly rate of $115??? Even dealers charge hourly rate of $80. However, he advised me that I would not have to pay for that if I had gone with the repairs with that shop. Tired and frustrated, I went ahead and he gave me an estimate of $500+ which I think was very much on the higher side. I went ahead with the repairs only because I did not have any energy left in me to do shopping at different places. After repairs were done, I asked the gentleman if he could give me the discount coupon offered on the internet and at that time he asked me for the paper copy of the coupon which i did not have. Most of the other service staff always obliged with the same when I requested for one. This guy was rude and arrogant from the moment I started talking to him. Angie was the lady who used to work at the reception and always talked to the customers with a smiling face. My only request to Bob Zetty (the owner) is that take this comment very seriously else you will start losing all your customers. Also, I would like to request him to keep his pricing at par with the market.

I went to this shop for an oil change appointment. (I always make sure that I take the prior appointment to avoid any last minute disappointment at the shop). When I checked in my car, I turned in the coupon I had from MIDAS website. (Nothing exceptional..It just provides the average price of oil change available elsewhere). When I gave the coupon I could clearly see the disappointment on the face of the owner/General Manager by name 'Sal'. However, he did not say anything. I saw that the service on my car was complete, I was still not being attended for the check out. After attending the customer who was behind me at the reception, he had no option to attend me. When my turn came, he bluntly told me that I should not be coming to his shop any more since all I was doing at his shop was oil change and was not performing any other services. I was stunned for a moment after hearing what he said. There are several shops around my house where I could go for an oil change. The only reason I went to this shop because I was in that area this afternoon and wanted to save myself some time.
I felt sad because of this pathetic and absolutely unprofessional behavior. He even got rid of the slightest chance that was left to service my car at this shop. I am even not sure why he thought he was doing me a favor by doing oil change at that price because I can get the same stuff done @ PEP BOYS at my convenience which is even $5 cheaper.

I dropped the car off the night before. They called me pretty early in the morning to let me know that they looked at it, told me what was wrong, and gave me a price. The price was way less than what Big O had quoted. I had them do the work for me and it was done before noon. I would use this service provider in the future.

I always bring my car here and they always do a good job. I never feel pressured to do anything other than what I bring it in for and when they do find something else, they always tell me if it needs immediate attention or if it can wait, and I appreciate that.

I spent somewhere between $200 and $250 on their services. They worked me in with their schedule because it was a Saturday. There were no problems at all with them.

No appointments on Saturday. Showed up and was out in 45 mins with two cars.
They had concerns with brakes/rotors on one car and brought me out to the floor to show me. I declined and did work myself since the quote was over $300 and AutoZone had the parts for about $100.

Did not use and will never go there again.
