It went great. We were satisfied with their work and the results afterwards. They gave us a rebate by them doing everything and then we got an energy credit on our taxes for having it done. It was definitely the best deal that we got, we checked with several different places, and this place really did a good job.
Description of Work: They came in and they did a lot of energy testing and they determined where we were losing energy. They did sealing in the attic and around, caulked outside. And then we had insulation blown in. It was a pretty good sized job.

They came out and did the estimate. They seemed to know what they were doing. By the time I found the estimate it was past the time I needed the work done. I did get back with them after I found the estimate in my spam box. They were not overly ambitious to help me when I called back.

I purchased a townhome in 2007. The master bedroom, bath and closet were all above the garage but I was totally unaware of the real problem this can be. Year 1, my pipes froze. Although I had not yet moved in, I had the water dripping, the house set at a constant temperature of 70 degrees, and the cabinet doors open although the last measure was uesless. The builder pretended to do something to the pipes and THEY brought out some guys who showed them that my carpeted floor was 50 degrees and the wall in my master closet below my window but ABOVE the heating vent was 34 degrees! They replaced the insulation in the garage's ceiling with a 'brand new' insulation specifically made for rooms over garages. I told them the model had a design flaw. (I did learn something before I changed my major from architecture!) Year 2, they burst in two places. (All the units that were my model either froze or burst that weekend.) The builder paid for the plumber and put some insulation in the garage walls and in the attic but I had to pay for everything else. (This includes the damage done to my front door by the police fire dept since it happened while I was out of town. I have great neighbors!) When they froze again, I couldn't take it anymore. In addition to being afraid of my pipes bursting again, my master bedroom and closet were really cold. I had theories and contractors willing to do whatever I asked in this economy, but I decided to find out what the problem was by someone who actually knew what they were doing. I needed some type of audit or assessment of what the problems were. They talked to me over the phone at length, and I really appreciated that. They came to my house and did an audit which took about 2.5 hours. They were ALL over the house -- especially in the attic and garage. They used infrared cameras. They also turned off my heat and pilot lights, opened my front door and put a 'fake' door with a fan in the middle of it. They were trying to suck out the air to create a type of vacuum to find areas of infiltration. I have 3 floors. They then wrote a lengthy audit. This cost $400. With this audit, I could either have them do the work or have someone else do it. I was so happy with them, I had them do the work. They did the following: ATTIC: They sealed the and quot;top plateand quot; with that foam stuff to prevent cold air from the attic from getting to the pipes. The builder had put the insulation next to the drywall (preventing any heat from getting to them from the house) so the pipes were not protected nor allowed to get any heat. When the pipes froze, the plumber expressed concern re: the cold air he felt. GARAGE: (1) They sealed the gap in the garage where the floor meets the drywall. (2) They insulated the walls at my insistence. BASEMENT: Sealed the rim joists in the front and back of the townhouse. The idea was to stop cold air from getting in from the garage and attic. The builder had done some similar work in the garage and attic after the pipes froze but they didn't do very much. I had many discussions with them, and they were always willing to talk with me. They are GREAT!!
Description of Work: I'm not positive of the date or the actual amount, but I am positive about how wonderful these guys are. (It was a while ago.) They came out and did some tests. I had to turn off the heat, and they came over and put a fake door over my doorway. They sucked air out of the house and went around looking for leaks. Then they walked around with a camera that was sensitive to temperature, and found all the problems. They found an issue the builder had identified earlier and said they had fixed. They used cellulose (?) insulation in the attic and the basement. I have a townhouse, and I am in the center. Since I am connected on the sides, they insulated the front and back. Then we went to the garage. They insulated the garage walls, but the didn't do the celing as it would have been more money.

I was really impressed by Energy360. They were very knowledgeable, and they had a clear idea as to what needed to be done. I didn't hire them, but it wasn't because of anything they did, or did not, do. The issue revolved around a grant from the city. Energy360 left me with a great feeling, and I really wish I could have worked with them. I would definitely recommend that people check them out!

We are very happy with the windows and the service. This is the second set of windows we ordered from Energy 360. Two new windows were installed last fall before we had a chance to insulate the walls. The windows were warmer than the walls during the winter.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 windows in 2 rooms. We rebuilt the inside of the exterior walls to properly insulate them. They installed the windows after we put up new framing. They installed the windows to provide a 4 in sill. After they installed the windows we finished insulating and put up the drywall. Overall we are very pleased with the windows and working with Energy 360. We ordered the Serious Materials Fiberglass windows.

They were great. Doing other things in addition to the energy audit which I thought was excellent. They were very professional. They had a reasonable price. They were here for a very long time. They were fantastic. I would use them again in the future if needed.

Jim recommended adding cellulose insulation to the main and family room attic, air sealing the attic floor, insulating the vertical framing of the vaulted ceiling with closed cell foam, closing the ridge vent with foam inside the attic, and installing one roof vent to make up up for the ridge vent being closed. We were impressed with the professionalism of Jim. After much deliberation, we did not employ his company because we decided to use fiberglass insilation instead of cellulose insulation. If we use celluose in a future house we would use this company.
Description of Work: We had two concerns for which we sought an evaluation and recommendation. First, we had felt a chill this past winter in our family room which has three outside walls, one of which is adjacent to our two car garage. Second, in one snow storm that included a severe wind, snow came into the attic above one of our bedrooms and resulted in slight water damage to the ceiling. We had been told we should have someone inspect the ridge vent to see if the damage was the result of the severe wind wind or something else. We called Energy 360 Solutions and Jim Scherpelz, Director Remediation Services, arranged to see us on the day we called.

I think the pricing Energy360 Solutions Inc quoted, was okay; it was not too high or low. We are planning to sell our house next year, so considering that, their quote was a little over the top. If we were to stay back in the house for another ten years, we would have considered investing that much. They were very meticulous and detailed. I think that it is a good thing, generally. They seemed very professional. It seemed like they were doing a very thorough job. They were pretty responsive; however there was a fairly long delay at one point. However, the quote was a little high for what we were looking for at the time. I would go back to them for quotes in the future.

We called Energy 360 first about windows as they sell the Serious Materials brand. Jim came over a few days later to show us some windows and get measurements. He was very knowledgeable about the windows. We went back and forth with emails to decide what we wanted to do. His responses were good, but not always timely. In his defense, we were not prompt with responses either and were in no hurry to get these windows. We decided to go with the Serious Fiberglass slider windows. We replaced the two windows in the master bedroom and a small bathroom window. Serious had a backlog at their factory so we had to wait about 2 months before they were ready. Energy 360 came to install the windows, they were here for several hours to do the work. They did a good job of sealing/insulating around the windows and the windows are amazing. We didn't realize they would be flush with the wall giving us no sill. My wife was not crazy about the idea, but I like it. My wife also missed the fact that the bathroom window will not open. There was a miscommunication in there, but that might be my fault. The windows were $5,050. The fiberglass windows are expensive, but they look nice and have amazing U values. In the winter, the windows are warmer than the walls. We also had Energy 360 come in to seal and insulate our attic and seal around the floors in the basement to stop air from traveling through our walls. They used a spray foam to seal everything and blew in about 2 feet of cellulose insulation. They did a blower door test before and after to show the difference it made. This was $1,250. We also had an independent energy auditor come in before we did any work on the house and a follow up after making a bunch of improvements. He commented on the how well they did with the windows and insulation.

I thought it went quite well. They told me what they were going to do, and they came to my home to do the audit. They seemed very thorough to me. They spent a lot of time in the attic. They went around the house with the infrared camera. They wrote a report and followed it up wth a visit to my home telling me what needed to be done. I was so happy with their services, I decided to let them do the work. I think these guys are terrific. They sealed areas of infiltration in the attic, garage and basement with foam and celuose. They also told me my windows were leaky which I already knew since I had stuffed them with paper towels and socks. No secret there! (I learned this trick while living in England.) I have since retired the paper towels and socks in favor of that plastic, but the night I really noticed the problem it was during a very windy and cold night and the stores were closed.
