Big Shoulders Moving & Storage

We hired Big Shoulders for an interstate move 1100 cu ft and included the packing for additional cost. The glowing reviews are why we chose them. Anna, in the sales department was great in helping schedule. On the day of the big move, the packers and the truck arrived at 11:30am. They were scheduled to arrive at 8am. This was a problem as we live in a high rise and reserved the freight elevator from 8am to 12. We had 1/2 hour to pack and load the truck, impossible of course, fortunately the building allowed us to go over the allotted time for a cost of $175 per hour for the elevator. I thought the packers were quick and efficient, however, the first box off the truck on arrival was broken open and there were several framed pictures in the bottom of the box without any wrapping on them, all of them were damaged. The truck was supposed to arrive at 8am and arrived at 4:30pm with 60 minutes of daylight left to unload so they unloaded in the dark. The driver was intimidating and rude, rushing the job, telling the others not to unwrap and just get the stuff in the house before dark. The driver demanded we sign the papers before the job was finished and the pieces unwrapped. It was obvious from the outside that many items had been scraped on the ground and the furniture inside was exposed and damaged. The driver refused to help and sat in his truck leaving two fellows to finish by themselves. They said they did not know the driver and were hired that day from another site. There were many damaged items. The driver said he had problems with the trailer when he arrived late. It's possible all of the goods were taken out and placed into a new trailer and were bashed and scraped on asphalt in the process. The driver shoved the paperwork at us and said you must sign. I asked where to document the damage. He said not on the paperwork, the damage is documented with the pictures. Then he gave me a piece of the paper with a place for notes and said ok ,write it here. I noted the damage quickly on the paper. This is my first time moving like this and after he left I saw that the paper that I signed said to specifically mark the condition of every item delivered. My fault, I missed that in the craziness of the move at night with an angry man leading the job. No one should hire this company.

Very smooth move with these movers. They gave me the lowest quotation so I went with them for the move. They disassembled and wrapped everything carefully, so nothing was scratched. They were very quick, only took a few hours to move our whole apt. The final price ended up being near the estimate so I was satisfied!

Thank You guys for helping us move from our condo to our new home. we couldn't have done it without you! It took 4 hours total for a team of 4 guys to disassemble, move and reassemble furniture. Highly satisfied!

These guys were great! I was moving from one side of the city to the other, and there was a big snow storm rolling in. They did out of their way to help us in a move and in all such tough conditions, everything was is safe and sound. Very friendly and professional, and got creative in getting all my stuff up the narrow, windy steps to my third floor condo. Appreciated!

Excellent moving company! The team showed up on time, moved all of the furniture with care, and were quick. They put all of the furniture exactly where I needed it and were very careful with the delicate pieces. They’re not too pricey. Highly recommend.

This was the first time I used them. They were recommended. AMAZING job. They took care in every piece. Wrapped and secured everything with blanket and then wrapped 5 or 6 times over. Guys were very friendly and professional. They wrapped everything properly before moving. Everything was smooth.

I had bad experience with my move for interstate. Initially they did good service for pickup but delivery was worse. The team took more than 1 month to deliver and also asked me to pay more than what was initially agreed at the time of delivery otherwise, they said, they will not unload the items which made me bit depressed. Moreover missing a newly purchased king size mattress and a damage in a table too. Later, when I contacted , they asked me to log a claim but no response after that. I see similar complaints from others as well in the recent moves.

The guys who moved me were truly A+. This is the first time I've used Big Shoulders Moving & Storage and it was so worth it. Everything went smooth from the booking, moving original date and the actual move. Great care went into handling our belongings. Can't recommend them enough.

Storage rooms are clean, well maintained, and make me feel safer knowing that my stuff will not get ruined, especially all my books. These storage rooms are the cleanest I have seen in my entire life. Not only should I brag about cleanliness, but the security of knowing my personals are safe is even a bigger bonus! No worries of people breaking in and grabbing all your valuables, they have you covered from head to toe on the protection and quality of your stuff.

Great job and smooth Move! They showed up promptly at the agreed time. They were professional and very careful with all of the furniture that they moved. All of the furniture is new and needed extra care and not be damaged. This is the third time I have used them for my moving needs. I will definitely use them next time I require movers. To sum up my experience all I can say is just Awesome!! They came out last minute because of a change of plans by me and they were just super flexible! There had reasonable prices which was a huge plus. I had a lot of big items that werenâ t no easy task and they handled them like experts. I highly recommend this company for any moving needs!

They made it all possible by taking an overwhelming experience and turning it into something manageable. They were efficient and hardworking. Courteous and considerate to me, the owner. They wanted to know what had to go and where I wanted my belongings to go. They worked tirelessly throughout the project and completed it on time. I'd utilize them again if I had to relocate.
