Perma-Seal Basement Systems

I had Perma Seal come out to give me a quote. The sales person's name was Robert and he very patiently explained the system I wanted, the price, the pros and cons of other systems. He spent about 2 hours going over the estimate, making sure what I wanted would work and detailing the entire procedure. I called Robert after he left with other questions and he was prompt, responsive and very friendly. The two gentlemen who came out to perform the work were on time, courteous, respectful and neat. They answered all questions with professionalism. I was very happy with the work performed. Since then, Perma Seal did a follow up phone call to discuss any issues and or questions. I called to have my sump pump and battery backup replaced. When they workers arrived we reviewed the equipment replacement otions and offered a quote. A particular concern of mine was getting a more powerful pump that would be less likely to get overwhelmed and I thought that meant a pump with more HP. While those types of pumps exist, they were not in stock and are more expensive. The worker explained that the suggested model pumped as many gallons/min as my existing pump and backup pump combined and that I didn't need the extra HP. I agreed and they got the job done in a couple hours including having to go back to the shop for an extra battery for the backup pump. The only negative comment I have is that they did not sweep/vacuum up the area where they cut the PVC pipe.

I put it in a full basement perimeter with downspout extensions in 2008. I recently decided to have some Landscaping done and I had some question on how deep the drainage tile was buried along with the minimum required dept for effective functional use..I emailed my inquiry to Perma Seal on a Sunday and had a response from John T the next day. I then posed a few follow-up questions for John in an email and within an hour I had a response. John took the time to explain fully my answers and treated my inquiry just as importantly when I first inquired about a tile system back in 2008. In fact he made a point of letting me know to contact him at any point if I had further questions. It was refreshing to be treated so well even though Perma Seal knew I would not be generating any revenue from my inquiry.

They arrived 35 minutes late without calling to let us know. The installation of water guard system, laundry tubs and breakup and removal of elevated concrete pad went well.

Great. After heavy rains this last week--not a drop in formerly leaky basement.

The workers performed the work quickly and checked the all other functions to insure that they worked well.

There was a leak in the front of my basement. They came, looked at the basement, looked at cracks and sealed them. I was charged for the work they did then. The problem did not go away. They said that it was the footing of a wall. They said they could fix it but it would be $200 and it’s not guaranteed. They should have told me at the beginning that this was the problem. They didn’t fix the problem and now they want to charge me more to fix it. They charged me to do something they weren’t going to guaranteeing.

I found the salesman friendly but he didn't seem to have very much common sense. He seemed more of a salesman and not very qualified to do the estimate.

They were great. They repaired the crack and I no longer have any problems with it.

It was okay. I wish they wouldnt have had aproblem with moving my washer/dryer and the sink.they didnt make sure the city allowed them to do things a certian way. They tried to resolve the problem. It was a little late but i guess its better late than never. Just for future reffrence please ask and insist that they clean up really good and help move things over if needed. I did spend alot of money to be told "you can mop it up and suggest you buy products" and i dont appreciate that.

Previous landscape projects had changed the exterior conditions such that during heavy rains, water started to infiltrate into our basement through foundation cracks . Although the amount of water never rose to a measureable amount, each episode resulted in extensive effort to collect the water and dry the basement. We sought quotes from four different basement waterproofing contractors to alleviate the problem. The Downers Grove, IL Perma-Seal project manager was the most professional and honest of the four, without the hard sell. When the installation date approached, Perma-Seal negotiated with the Village's Code Enforcement Department to expedite the approval of the building permit. The work crew arrived on-time, and hung protective plastic, including additional locations requested by us. The job itself involved demolition and excavation of an 80 foot strip of the basement floor, inluding through an existing interior concrete wall, installation of gravel, the drain tile, and pouring new concrete. Total time was four hours. The crew kept us informed throughout the project and reviewed the completed work with us. We are very happy with the completed project, and look forward to the rain.

I had a top notch experience with the Perma-Seal folks... from estimating, through installation, and subsequent warranty work and followup. It was almost 2 years ago when I had all the work performed. Everyone was punctual for their appointments, very knowledgeable and informative on what to expect, how things would work, and what to watch. The end result looks very similar to the other "after" pictures posted... very clean and professional. No mess left after the work. I no longer have that musty smell in the crawl, and I actually store things in there now. After the first year I did have an issue with the pump. They responded quickly and took care of the issue (replaced pump) at no cost. Everything continues to work like a charm. On top of it... after another year went by... I recently received a call to schedule a free inspection and checkup. They just were here and checked everything out... all still working great.... and free inspection as well. Can't beat that... they just checked everything out, made sure all was working fine, mentioned a few things I could do for added services but was not "pushy" by no means on the sell... just let me know what was available. Excellent customer focus, followup and support. I am extremely happy I went with these folks.... as I said, my experience has been top notch.

They fixed my basement, and they were very nice. Their price was good. They were very reasonable.

My overall experience on the day of the estimate and on the day of the work was good. Everyone is friendly, informative and the workers showed up right on time.

They were ok. They give you the typical salesman pitch. On a five star system I would give it a 2.5 I hate those hard-core sales pitches.

We really weren't sure what to expect as we've never had this type of work done before. We immediately felt much better about the process we were getting ready to embark on after our initial meeting with our Sales Consultant, Ray Meier. He was extremely knowledgeable about basement water problems, pointed out where we were having issues, thoroughly explained our options and gave us a recommendation that we felt very comfortable with. It was interesting that he didn't try to up-sell us on "add-ons" that we didn't need. I must commend Ray for his integrity. If the other Sales Consultants that work for Perma-Seal have the same level of integrity and concern, the company will only continue to find success based on its reputation. Our relationship with Ray didn't end after signing the contract - he personally showed up during the installation to ensure we were comfortable with the installation team, the process and to answer any questions we had. It is evident that Ray takes great pride in providing outstanding customer service. It's hard to find people today that place such a high value on customer satisfaction. The installation team was fantastic! Perma-Seal does not hire outside contractors to provide services only trained employees perform Perma-Seal work. They showed up ten minutes early and began working immediately. The four gentlemen assigned to our job were polite, professional, highly skilled, dedicated workers. We couldn't believe the speed in which they completed the job. They did an excellent job in sealing off the area to keep dust to a minimum in the rest of our house. They even hung visqueen around all of the belongings that remained in the basement to reduce the amount of cleaning we would have when the job was done. This type of work is very physically demanding, having to break up concrete and dispose of it in five gallon buckets. These guys worked very hard. We had to convince them to take a break after they had gotten all of the concrete up out of the basement. They were very neat and we were happily surprised that they made sure there were no concrete remnants on the drive or in the garage when the job was done. The team supervisor made sure he took my husband down to inspect the job, reviewed what had been done and answered any questions. We will highly recommend Perma-Seal to any of our friends and neighbors that have basement water problems. We had a wonderful experience.

They came and got the job done. They were on time. They did everything that they were supposed to do.

Overall, everything turned out great. It took a while to get an appointment but they came out and gave a thorough investigation. They arrived on time and they completed the work done in a day. I have no complaints.

The rep from PermaSeal was prompt, thorough and very knowledgable. He didn't pressure me into expensive, unnecessary repair and gave me an honest and clear assessment of my options. I am not, at this time, able to afford the replacement battery and there was no charge for his visit. When I'm able to make this fix, I will definitely call them again.

Our overall experience has been good so far. The person who came to do the estimate was on time. The work has not been completed yet. The last time we used them was a month ago and they are coming back next week to mesh the windows. Everything looks great for replacing the basement windows in our condo association. We saw an advertisement and that was the reason we got in touch with them. We would use them again in the future.

Very well. The work was done just as described, and seems to be working perfectly - basement has beeb dry as a bone, even through the summer of 2011's heavy storm season, and a 6" rainfall event. They were professional, communicated well, met all time requirements, and did the job at estimated cost. I would definitely recommend Permaseal for basement waterproofing and crawlspace sealing work.

The rep was very professional and very down to earth. I used them to repair a crack in my foundation and had them come back for an estimate on another one. I really liked the rep and that is a large reason why I will use them again.

Update. The company read my Angie's List feedback and immediately contacted us for resolution. At no additional cost to us, they replaced the pump outlet pipe and even did some additional work! I would HIGHLY recommend them for any work on folks basement systems. To me, its not so important that a company gets everything right the first time (hopefully they are human, not auto-responding phone systems), but how they respond to feedback from their customers. It seems that too many companies, once they have your money, they drop you like a "hot potato". Not Permaseal in my case. Additionally, THANK YOU ANGIE'S LIST AND THOSE WHO REPORT! It's so nice going into the contractor world informed.
