IT STARTED FINE. The man who took the vacuum in, on Friday, was nice: Javier. He said he'd have an answer as to what was wrong on Monday/today. He showed me vacuums in case I would decide to buy a new one (my idea) THEN IT WAS HORRIBLE. I went to pick up the vacuum Monday morning. The man (not Javier) who came out was the owner, I think. No "good morning". I explained that I was there to check on my vacuum and the man had no nicities of % or friendliness. He went in the back and came back and said vaguely, "It will be ready today" As my cleaning lady was coming today I said "I guess I will take it back" explaining the situation and saying that they had said it would be ready today. He brought the vacuum up, saying little and I asked if I could go out the backdoor, instead of carrying it all the way around the builiding. He grunted and I followed him where upon he dropped the vacuum on the floor near poor Javier and said "@*#& this was supposed to be looked at YESTERDAY" to Javier and nothing to me -- humiliating the poor guy and being rude to me. I went out the back, apologized to Javier and hoped I didn't get him in more trouble. WHY WOULD I PATRONIZE A STORE THAT TREATS EMPLOYEES BADLY? I think if there were any problems, I would be yelled at and treated badly too. I WILL NEVER GO BACK>
Description of Work: I had brought in my Miele vacuum for service as it wasn't working as well as it had been.

I was told that there was no problem and that I should be able to pick it up in just a few days. No one ever called to let me know what was going on, so I called in only to find out that it would cost me $150 to repair it. I spoke with the owner who went on a cursing rant to me saying he didn't want my vacuum in his shop. He was literally screaming at me. I will never go back there.
Description of Work: I took my vacuum in for repair after purchasing it from them about 3 years ago.

We called on a Saturday and were able to get an appointment for Monday morning. The technician arrived a few minutes early. It was a particularly stubborn clog, but he was able to resolve the issue in about an hour after trying several different approaches. He was professional and very neat (took off his shoes when he came in and clearned up after completing the work). We had a very positive experience and would definitely use A1 again.
Description of Work: Unclogging one of the pipes in our central vacuum system.

Estimates given in a timely fashion, repairs seemed quite reasonable in cost, repairs performed quickly. Only problem was attitude of staff member (I only dealt with 1 person). On initial contact he suggested the only way I'd get satisfactory vacuuming would be to buy a new one. I said "Thank you, but I'd still like repair estimates." Other phone contacts and in-person pickup after repair had an uncomfortable feel like I was imposing on him. Perhaps the guy was just a zero personality-wise, but I never felt in the least like he appreciated my business. I would try them again should the need arise due to the positive repair experience, but I would certainly hope to avoid the guy I dealt with this time (sorry, can't remember a name).
Description of Work: Repair estimates on 2 old vacuums. Junked one, repaired the other.

Good customer service.
Description of Work: I called before coming in to verify they service my machines. when I came in I was told the did not work on my wet/dry vac or carpet cleaner. However, he took the time to look at my machine, clean out the filter and test the suction without charging me. He told me the Bissel cleaner pump would cost $150 and they can't get the part. recommended to get a Hoover cleaner next time. He then helped bring my machines back to my car.

These were the only people (I spoke to Rich) who sounded like they knew what they were doing. I had a very old Air Vac vacuum from when the house was built over thirty years ago and most I spoke with were unfamiliar with the brand or said they didn't work on them. I was reassured they had a showroom where I could look over the available equipment. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also handle normal vacuums as well as central vacuums. My Mom wound up buying a really nice vacuum from there a couple days later.
Description of Work: I called to get an estimate on having a old central vacuum and attachments replaced. I hired them to removed the old vacuum, install a new one, update the inlets, and provide a new attachment kit.
