When we met with Mike to get an estimate for roof repairs, we were told that there was some type of grant that we would be able to get, but that we had to fully remodel one of the rooms in the house along with getting the roof replaced. We agreed and went with this company because of the grant and we wanted to have our kitchen remodeled. We had our kitchen completely gutted and remodeled and the roof replaced. Everything as far as the contract procedures and the financing pretty much went off without a hitch. The problem, that you seem to have with most contractors it seems, is that if something comes up or they have another job to do, they just won't come out and tell you that. So what you end up with is several days of the project being delayed because no one shows up on the job site when you expect them to. The part that is really annoying is that you have to call the company to find out what is going on instead of them giving you the customer service. As far as the kitchen is concerned we were pleased with the overall look of the project. However, they can be a little sloppy when it comes to finishing details. We had handles installed on the cabinets. The style we chose sort of had on open design, so when the guy tried to install one of them, he drilled the hole wrong. They did not use wood filler or anything to make the repair. So to this day you can see where the hole was drilled to install the handle. Also, with any existing home the walls are not going to be plum. When they installed our laminate counter tops there was a section that was about half an inch away from the wall. Their remedy was to fill it with some type of cylicone and paint it the same color as the wall. This was very cheeply done in my opinoin. Now the major problem! This company used sub contractors to do the roof. Of course in the begining it seems that the job was done well. However, we had an incident in May of 2007 where a huge branch from the neighbors tree fell on the roof. I understand that something like that would not be covered by the twelve year warranty we got from the company. The problem is, when the adjuster for the insurance company came out, they informed us that the work was less than sub standard. To make a long story short, the work was so bad that most of the contractors we called to do the repairs from the tree did not want to follow the work of Contractor Services without replacing the whole roof because the job they had done was that bad. The kicker is, that when we called them to see how much they would charge us to repair the roof, they were going to charge us another $6,900 to do the repairs. Go figure! They did not finish repairing the flashing on the corner of the house they were supposed to, but they did give us a check for 1,000 that we were supposed to cash if they did not complete their punch list. Our dumb mistake is we did not press them to finish the work, nor did we cash the check! Dumb I know.!
Description of Work: At the time we were still having problems with our flat roof leaking. We called this company to give us an estimate of repairs.
