I had the rep come out on Friday to give me an estimate. He inspected the basement and found some cracks that I missed. He answered all my questions. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I have to admit the price quoted was more than I wanted to pay but I figured what the heck. The cracks in the foundation were bugging me and I had been thinking about painting the basement for a while. They came out on the following Monday and the whole job was done in about four hours. Overall I'm glad I did it.
Description of Work: I had Matt from "The Crack Attack Team" come out and give me an estimate on what it would cost to repair some cracks in my basement foundation walls and two cracks on the floor around my sump pit. I also asked for an estimate on painting the basement with a waterproof paint. He found ten cracks in all. Four of the cracks would need to be injected, the rest were epoxied over. Besides the cracks, the basement foundation was in good shape (no water leaks). The price quoted to do everything was approximately $2400.00. After discounts and a little haggling the cost was $2000.00. They did a nice job. It took about four hours. My basement dimensions are: 28' x 24' with 7' walls.

Because the village did not pull the permits promptly, the work started about a week late. My house was build more solidly than they were used to. It took them almost two days to complete the work. Before starting, they covered my stuff in plastic film. They spent the whole first day digging the trench. It took longer than planned because my foundation was thicker than they were used to. They kept working until about 8 PM that evening. The next morning they texted me telling me they were caught in traffic. They finished the work, passed inspection, and applied the concrete that day.
Description of Work: They came out in response to our complaints of seepage in the basement. They determined that the drainage tile in the basement had collapsed in the fifty years since the foundation had been poured. They offered to replace it with perforated plastic tile. I knew from other experience that plastic tile has been the preferred method since about 1980. They told us they would have to dig a 1' trench along the whole south wall of the house, about 45', put in gravel, perforated plastic pipe, and cover it in concrete, once it had been inspected. They would also replace my jury rigged sump pump system with a professional one and bring the whole thing up to code. They would also haul away the rubble.

They did an excellent job for thousands less than the other contractors wanted to charge. They came on time, finished the job in one day and cleaned up all debris. I couldn't be happier with the results and would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: We were finishing our basement and had a number of cracks in our basement floor that we wanted repaired before putting down tile. There was also a large one that heaved up a section that needed to be repoured. Other contractors I had out wanted to break open the floor and put in a drain tile system in conjuction with the repairs but we never have seepage or flooding problems due to rain and already have a sewer bypass flood control system to prevent sewer backups. Tim sized up our job for what was needed, not the cookie cutter approach all the others wanted to do. He also recommended sealing two wall cracks that I had overlooked.

I had an appointment that day for another company to come out and fix the crack in the wall. I saw that there was a Big Deal for the Crack Attack Team, so I called them, and they said they could come out. I bought the Big Deal, they came and fixed the crack in the wall for only $160 or whatever it was, and they fixed the crack in the floor as well. Very fast service, the technician explained everything to me, and he was very nice about answering a million questions.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's List to have a foundation crack sealed from the inside. Contractor's communications were prompt, he showed up on time, and performed the work in the timeframe quoted. I waited to review the job because of the dry weather this year. We have had a couple of good downpours since the crack was fixed and it does not leak.

Crack Attack Waterproofing Team arrived promptly and punctually. I had water in my crawlspace but, upon inspection, the team concluded that there was no crack. Instead, the cement surrounding the 10-inch hole in the foundation in which the sewer pipe and the water main were located had collapsed. To fix that would cost me an additional $250, they said, and I agreed. Upon further inspection, they discovered that most of the water was due to a broken pipe that was supposed to join the kitchen sink to the sewer pipe, but was now missing. They fixed that for an additional $150. My crawlspace is now dry and I am happy with the result of their work. When I added up the total cost, however, including the $149 that I had paid to Angie's List, I found that $549 was a steep price to pay for 45 minutes of work, even including two gallons of cement to fill the hole and the parts (two-feet 4" ID PVC pipe and an elbow joint) used to replace the missing pipe. The additional price that I paid was appropriate for the work that was done, but I don't understand what was purchased for the $149 that I paid to Angie's list, and for which the Team collected the receipt.

Very professional/knowledgeable and so prompt. Work was done fast. Had foundation cracks filled in - great price - also had a Radon system put in that was unexpected but required for us to sell our property. Didn't know they dealt with that but they did. Price was competitive. We will have to retest our levels soon but so far everything is fine.

Matt and Joey from Crack Attack were professional from start to finish. My call was returned promptly by the owner, Matt, who was polite and professional. We made an appointment for an estimate and appraisal of the job. Joey, the technician, was punctual, polite, and discussed the job fully, and gave me advise on which techniques would be best for the situation. I can wholeheartedly recommend Crack Attack, and would use their services again! Signed, Happy Customer, Elgin, IL

They did a good job. It rained hard a couple of days after they repaired the crack, and so far, no water leaking. Thank you.
Description of Work: I purchased a coupon from Angie's List for $149.00 to repair a crack in our basement. Jason and Joe arrived and looked at the crack that I wanted repaired and Jason said that I would need to pay an additional $100.00 to fix it as someone tried to repair it before and there was a considerable amount that they would need to chip off.

I was very satisfied with the technician who explained the process in detail. The company provides a lifetime warranty on the crack repair and waterproofing.
Description of Work: Technician called said he finished up another job early and would like to start my job which was great for me. The foundation wall cracks were first sealed on the surface with a two part epoxy and than a polyurethane liquid foam was injected into the cracks which expands and seals the inside of the cracks.

We found a few cracks on my basement and this company was running a special for Angie's List members, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to get a free estimate. WOW! I received top-notch service from the very first phone call! They came in for the free estimate the very next day. The guys were courteous, professional and knowledgable. They looked at my whole basement and found cracks I hand't even noticed. On top of the fact that I was paying an already discounted amount by taking advantage of their special, they also charged me 1/3 of the discounted price for two small cracks and fixed a "half crack" (a little crack that didn't go all the way through from top to bottom) for free! Once we agreed on the quote, they came back for the actual job two days later. And they took that long only because they had to accommodate our schedule, as they were ready to go right away. Finally, they offer LIFETIME warranty on any cracks they fix. They're officially on our speed dial! :-)

After experiencing some flooding in the basement, we had several contractors out to look at it and give estimates. All recommended the same thing - a full tile drainage system needed to be installed, but these guys gave us the best price, and threw in a battery back up on the new sump pump, as well. They came in on time with a whole team, worked hard, and were very professional. Unfortunately, they ran into a few issues with the village that made a 1-day process stretch to 3, and that probably could have been avoided with a little research ahead of time. First, they weren't allowed to use the type of stone originally selected, so had to go buy something new. Then, they discovered that the village didn't do inspections on Mondays, the day scheduled for the work, so we had to wait overnight and have them come back the next day for an inspection before pouring concrete. The inspector thought there was too much rock poured in, so then they had to clean some out and come back a third day for another inspection before pouring the concrete. The third time was the charm, they got the concrete poured, and the system seems to be working well. Tim also knocked a few hundred dollars off the price in the end for the inconvenience of us having to take off work multiple days. He was very professional and apologetic, and they all seemed to know what they were doing - just not the rules in Brookfield before starting work. Appreciate that he was doing the due diligence to work with the village in the first place, though. My only other complaint is that while I did get a hand written receipt upon finishing the job, we were supposed to get a detailed write up of the job and warranty sent by mail. We waited a couple of weeks and finally requested it, at which point it was sent over. Overall, their work was very good, and the price was very good - they just need to get a little more organized. UPDATE - JANUARY 13, 2013 So we noticed a couple of months after the initial work was done that there was some moisture accumulating around the area of the HVAC condensation line that was routed into the newly poured cement. Today, Sunday, January 13, it happened for the second time and I decided I needed to followed up. I emailed Tim and within minutes he emailed me back offering to come out that very day to check it out. An hour or so later, he was on my front porch with one of his guys and they fixed the problem in 10 minutes flat. The issue was the connecting tube hadn't been primed and sealed and the water from the HVAC unit was dribbling out of the seam. 20 minutes later, the issue seems to have been resolved. This was great service in general - more so when you figure it happened on a Sunday. NEW UPDATE - FEBRUARY 13, 2013 About a week and a half ago, a neighbor pointed out that large amounts of water were being pumped into the alley abutting my property and creating a large sheet of ice covering the entire alley. Upon inspection, I saw that this was, of course, a result of the new system and sump pump. Perhaps spoiled by my previous interaction with him (see January 13 update above), I emailed Tim as soon as my neighbor informed me of the situation, wanting to make sure that the draining of the sump pump into the alley was okayed by the village inspector. I didn't hear back which was fine because I emailed him on a Friday night. Saturday passed, still no word. Sunday comes and still no word. I emailed again on Sunday and didn't hear back. First thing Monday morning, I contacted the village and was informed that no systems could discharge to the alley and I needed to remedy the situation immediately or face fines. I called Tim twice that day and left messages to this effect and he finally called back. He started the conversation with, "I wasn't avoiding you" - always a good starting comment. When we got into the events that had transpired, he told me that he heard "panic" in my voice and that I needed to "relax." He then insisted that it was my fault because I was the one who wanted to use the previously installed connection that discharged into the alley and that, to begin with, he simply wanted to have the sump pump discharge right outside the house. My first response to that was: I hired you to make sure the entire job was done up to village code. Then I said that his proposal would have been problematic because then water would have simply accumulated (and frozen) right at the base of my home's foundation, he got irritated and demanded, "what do you want me to do?" I told him that I needed the situation corrected, to which he suggested to simply disconnect the hose and have the drainage happen right outside the home. When I protested that that would have created more problems given the amount of water being discharged, he again asked, "well what do you want me to do?" I ended up disconnecting the hose and rerouting the drainage to what I have since have learned is an industry standard of between 5 to 10 feet away from the base of the foundation. To my thinking, if Tim did, as I asked, inform the village inspector that I wanted to use the existing connection and have the drain go out to the alley, the village inspector could have either a) informed him that that was not allowable under the code or b) said, "sure, no big deal! Go for it." I can't say for sure what, if any, exchange between Tim and the village inspector occurred regarding this issue, but I do know that Tim was curt and disagreeable when I was simply trying to determine what happened; to be told to "relax" was thoroughly unprofessional and dismissive. While it is true that my basement remains dry, what troubles me is that I am no longer confident in the guarantee I got with my system. What Tim am I going to get if/when problems occur in the future and I have to call his business: the one that showed up on a Sunday or the one that told me to relax and tried to blame me for the problem? For this uncertainty, I am incredibly dissatisfied.

I called to get an estimate and set up an evening appointment. That evening nobody showed up and I called and spoke to Tim. He apologized right away and said it was his fault that he didn't make it. Because of his genuine apology and because he offered to give me a big discount, I made another appointment. This time he showed up right on time. He was very professional and again apologized for not making the first appointment. He went through the problems and explained everything to us in detail. He answered all our questions in a clear way. We booked him and he gave us a great deal. He showed up on time for the work, got it done quickly and so far the work has held up. The workman was expected to arrive between 9 and 10 am. He arrived right on time. He presented his id at the door (this is very important to me as I live alone) He explained the process to me. I showed him were the crawlspace was and he proceeded to inspect the space. He then inspected the outside of the foundation. He repaired the crack that was found and asked me if there was any other crack that I noticed. I showed him the cracks by my front door that had reopened after being filled last summer He filled in those cracks using material that he said would last a few years. He was here over an hour. He was very polite and I was glad that the cracks had been repaired as it is getting cold and the time when little "critters" would be trying to find a way out of the cold.
Description of Work: I purchased the coupon about 6 months ago, but I didnt call to make the appointment until the second week in September. The response was immediate, and the work was thoroughly explained to me before he started. I paid for 2 crack repairs and they explained that if there was less than that than I had a choice to repair a crack on another service or receive a partial refund. I had one foundation crack in my crawlspace and so they also repaired a crack in the cement around my front door. I was very satisfied with the result.

I had a crack in the foundation in my crawl space. Due to the dry weather and taking out a large bush on the other side of the wall, water began coming though the crack. I contacted Crack Attack Team. They came out on time and gave me an estimate. Tim from Crack Attack Team came out and inspected the crack. He gave me a complete over view of the damage and the repair that needed to be done. Tim went over their different protects, they use and the warranty. Tim was professional and used our time very efficiently. The day of the scheduled repair he was on time. After the repair was done the area was clean. A week later I taking down the insulation in the crawl space and located a second small hole in the foundation. This had been an on and off problem for a couple of years. I was very pleased with Tim's work with the first repair and just gave him a call, he came out, was on time and filled the second small hole as well. It has rained since the repairs were completed and I have had no problems with my crawl space. I recommend the Crack Attack Team. Dan S.
Description of Work: The 1st time Crack Attack repaired a crack running diagonal in my crawl space. A week later I took down the old insulation to put up new insulation, At that time I found a small hole in the base of the wall, in another area. This second hole was an intermittent problem. They filled both problems and sealed them. Tim used some Staples to secure the crack. The crawl space is now dry.
