These guys are awesome. Excellent work. Done in one day. Lived with a leaky basement for years. Now, not a drop of water. In June 2015 we had a huge storm with rain pouring down like a monsoon. Again not a drop of water. Absolutely great. I highly recommended them! You will not be disappointed. I wasn't.

I received an estimate over the phone based on the information that I provided. The estimate given to me over the phone was the same amount I paid after they completed their work. They showed up exactly when they said they would and it took a single person approximately 2 hours to complete the job. After finishing the job they informed me that my work had a warranty and that the warranty was transferable to the next owner of the residence. They were very helpful and professional and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone.

Wow, I honestly can't say enough good about these guys! First, this was a huge job. My mother and father in laws home was built on a crawl space that had pea gravel under it. As the house aged over 50 years, the back yard slope changed till water flooded into the crawl space after each rain. Sometimes it would be over 2 feet deep! and the crawl space was only 4 feet! We had the job quoted by a competitor that came highly recommended. They said just to trench the house for 8000. Then American Crawlspace said they would put new rock, trench, and concrete the entire basement as well as insulate and put in a new sub-pump for the same amount! This price made me skeptical. However, after reading their great reviews, I decided to take a chance. The guys (a crew of about 5) were on time every day. They went into a tiny hole and worked all day in an area you couldn't stand up in. The only time we saw them is when they came out to get materials. I checked on their work everyday and was amazed at the progress they made each day! The pad was awesome! The sub-pump was dug, and wired by them! It works like a dream!!! They re-piped it when it came out of an area of the house I didn't like. No complaints, they were happy to do it. Now here is the best part.....I paid for insulation, but found when it turned cold that they did such a great job that it didn't need it. So I called them up, and asked them to refund that portion. No questions asked! No pressure trying to get me to take it. They said the check would be sent at the start of the week and I got it in 3 days! No leaks, great service and their crew was out of this world. Hire these guys if your basement needs a concrete pad! You'll thank me.

The estimator Jim O'Donnell came out to our house and looked at the job we needed accomplished. He was very good at explaining what needed to be done, what the process entailed and he broke out the various costs. He got back to us the same day with a proposal. They were very flexible as to our schedule for the timing of the project. Once we set a date the crew came to our house promptly and got started. The entire crew of workers were very professional and the foreman answered all of our questions. He also went above and beyond by taking pictures for me as the process went along. When the job started the workers were respectful of our home and put down tarps and covering what needed to be done so things were protected. The job took less time than I thought it would mostly because the foreman and workers, worked in harmony and knew what they were doing. This was a big undertaking for us and along the way I was in contact with the Manager Keith who calmed my fears and answered my question. He could be reached at anytime. Overall this was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend American Crawlspaces,Corporation to anyone who needed this type of work accomplished. In fact I recommended them to my Daughter who needs some foundation crack work done.

Upon contacting American Crawlspaces & Basements, I was quickly given a day for my first leaky-basement inspection. From this first day I never got the impression that they were trying to tell me everything that was wrong that needed to be fixed. The initial consultant, Jim O. gave me several scenarios and possible ways to fix my basement. I felt that they would be happy to proceed with whichever plan I chose. After choosing them, Keith at the main office was able to schedule work to commence the very next week, promising that the entire job could be completed in 2 days plus part of third if needed (actually finished main job in one day, with clean up and final touches on the second day.) Steve T (the owner) was on site for much of the work and made me feel very comfortable with the options I had selected to improve my basement. Because I felt that the job was done so well, and the cost was about right for my needs, I already hired Steve another time to help replace a kitchen sink and its accompanying under-pipes as well as rodding. I will be considering Steve Trafficanta and any of his employees for future home improvement.
Description of Work: Steve T and his crew of Scott, Jose and others tore up existing moldy vinyl floor in basement/cleaned up floor; installed drain tile around perimeter of basement; sealed several cracks; installed sump pump; cleaned crawlspace and installed spray-foam insulation/removed old insulation; connected misc. pipes that should have been connected; further job led to replacement of kitchen faucet, rodding and replacement of pipes under sink; replaced basement washbasin, installed new pvc pipes.

I sent American crawlspace a message through Angie's List. I requested a quote to repair the cracks in my foundation that appeared to had been leaking in the past. Keith responded quickly to my request and we began talking on the phone shortly after that. He asked many questions by phone and was thorough wish saved us time (at least from my side as I was in the middle of a basement remodel when I found these cracks). Since I only found one crack at the time, I took a pic and sent to him via email. I loved that we worked through this issue without having to schedule a time for him to come out as time was of the essence for me. He provided a quote via email and we discussed live the next morning, unfortunately, I found 2 more significant cracks that needed to be fixed. He asked length/direction of cracks and pics of the 2 additional ones. He quoted the set price at that moment to include the additional cracks without seeing the pics and just having the measurements. He knew I was in desperate need of the cracks being fixed and not taking advantage of the situation either. It was a fabulous price! He had someone out the next day at 8:30a like stated. They were prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. On top of all that, I have a life time warranty against seepage and leakage which is transferable if I ever sell my home :). I would rehire them in a heartbeat and I will definitely refer them to my family and friends :). Thanks again to the team at American Crawlspace & Basement, YOU ROCK!!!

They are a good company and were very accommodating in doing the work quickly for me as i was having the basement walls insulated when water showed up in the basement. I would use them again and i do recommend them but there were some issues that took >2 months to resolve which was the only part that wasn't positive. I repeatedly sent emails about the issues (with photos) but the response was 'please be patient as the owners have to investigate and make the decision on the resolution.' the owners were on vacation for 2 weeks so i waited 3 weeks to check on the status. they responded again with 'thank you for your patience, i will send this on to the owners'. I started to feel they they were hoping i would stop and just go away but there were things that needed to be corrected. So I called and asked to speak to one of the owners who did call me back right away. We agreed on a fair resolution so it ended well but i shouldn't have had to call/email that many times to get my issues resolved. issues: workers broke a just installed, brand new threshold (reimbursed me for new one installed) Sections of the floor where cement was poured were sloppy with gaps. i paid someone to correct and they reimbursed me for part of that work. I felt it was a fair resolution. And this was more about their customer service than the overall quality of their work.

We found out we had seepage in our basement, including some foundation cracks and groundwater pressure. We got four estimates from different companies in the area. American Crawlspace & Basement was the first company to respond and come out for an estimate. Jim O'Donnell was very direct, explained what needed to be done, and explained ways I could save money on the job. By the time the other estimates came in, American Crawlspace's estimate was almost $1800 less than the next lowest bid. There was a slight delay involving obtaining a permit, but it only delayed the work by a few days, and throughout the process Keith and Gena kept in contact and were very responsive. On the day of the job, I met with their crew leader first and he told me what to expect. They dug out the concrete floor around the inside perimeter of my basement, installed drain tile and drainage board all the way around, installed a sump pump, and then re-poured 4" of concrete all the way around. The work was done in one day, and passed inspection no problem. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with basement water problems.

Recently I noticed several areas in our unfinished crawlspace where small amounts of water would pool during/after heavy rain. I called American Crawlspaces, and Scott came within 24 hours to inspect and provide an estimate. He surveyed the entire basement and identified four cracks in need of repair. He explained the process for filling the cracks and gave a written estimate. Service was performed at a later date. Technician was courteous, thorough and efficient. Documentation provided gives us a lifetime transferrable warranty. We've since had several heavy rainstorms and the crawlspace is dry. Highly recommended.

TThe experience started well, with the sales person coming on time, and providing a detailed proposal and quote. I had time constraints on scheduling and he worked to meet them. The quote was in line with another well recommended Angies List provider, and this contractor also offered to move our storage racks and book racks away from the walls at no additional charge. The project was projected to take two days. The contractor included procuring the construction permit in the quote. The contractor came on time on the first day, and had a large enough crew to complete the trenching and installing of the gravel backfill and drain tile before they left for the day. The second day they were to inject the crack filling and pour and level the concrete after the inspector approved the work to that point. On the second day, instead of a work crew coming, I got a call that said the permit had not been issued, and they could not pour the concrete until they paid for the permit. The permit was withheld because of a disagreement between the contractor and the village clerk concerning an (initially) outdated license for their plumber. They wanted to postpone the concrete work until Monday or tuesday of the next week because they could not get the permit and schedule the inspection earlier. Note - the work was not even supposed to be started before the permit was issued. At this point in time, they submitted an acceptable plumber's license, but were not able to make the payment for the permit on a timely basis. I volunteered to go to the village and buy the permit if that would get the project back on track, and the contractor agreed. The village clerk and inspector was very accommodating to squeeze an extra appointment by the inspector with only a few hours notice, and the inspector came at 3 PM of that day. The contractor scheduled the concrete truck for 3:30, but it did not come until about 4 PM. The Contractor's crew came about 3:30 to complete the preparation for the pour, and to seal the cracks. It appears that by delaying the project, they did a poor quality job on the crack sealing - they did not allow the epoxy that was to seal the wall and keep the crack filler in the crack to dry and harden adequately, and as the crack filler expanded, it burst through the epoxy and into the room. (photos attached). Worse, it also burst up from the wet concrete. It took about 36 hours before these effects occurred and were noticeable. They also took my old sump pump, but later returned it. A second major problem was that they did not cut a clean edge in the concrete. When they poured the concrete to fill the trench, they appeared to be rushed for time, and did not do a high quality workmanlike job in leveling and feathering the surface near the edge of the old floor. There are pits and uneven sub-level gaps. I sent them photos of the problems, and they promised to respond. They agreed to send a team to address the extruded crack filler. From this point in time, communications with their operations manager has deteriorated from "great" during the job, to "poor - late in returning calls". When the team was scheduled to appear between 8 and 9 in the morning, they did not arrive until around noon. The satisfactorily addressed the wall problems and leveled some of the high points of the concrete, but did not fill in the spalled areas or depressions near the junction with the basement floor. After further contact with the operations manager, I received an email that asserted "the concrete, being a float finish, has met quality standards." In my opinion, the floor defects, if not patched, will reduce the resale value of the house by more than it will cost to correct. To summarize the failures during this project: 1 - Failure to get a permit before starting the work 2 - Failure to inform me that then did not have a construction permit before the work was started 3 - Failure to complete the work on the schedule agreed (due to the permit issue) 4 - Failure of the crack sealing process, probably due to rushing and inadequate drying time between the epoxy and the sealant injection 5 - Poor internal communications, resulting in taking my old sump pump, which was to be left as a spare. 6 - Failure to return phone calls and schedule the repair in the timeframe promised 7 - Failure to call me when they knew they would be late for the last appointment, leaving me to waste a morning. 8 - Failure to address the final concrete finish problem Factors affecting grades: Responsiveness: Good up until the second work day, slow second day, good for wall repair, failed for floor corrections Quality: Waterproofing appears to be effective - not enough time to get experience with heavy rains. Walls required rework, floor finish will need an outside contractor to correct. Punctuality: Sales person was always on time, Telephone calls returned promptly until job started. Punctionality suffered both in workmen arriving, return of phone calls, and acquisition of construction permit. Professionalism: Rated low because it is unprofessional to work without a valid permit, and the tardy permit caused the concrete finishing to be rushed and of poor quality. In response to Keith's comments, I never asked for a check - only that the cracks shown in the photos be repaired.. Keith cannot refute any of the claims, because they are accurate. I have photos of the work that show the wall problems, which he did fix. In addressing inaccuracies, they were out on two days to do the work. Then they were out one day to assess the wall problem and a second day to repair it. They never came a third day.
Description of Work: The contractor contracted to seal 8 cracks in basement walls, trench around the basement perimeter, and install new drain tile, a new sump and sump. He was to leave my old sump pump (only 2 years old) as a spare

I was honestly stumped by the way I was treated by this company. My initial contact was very positive. I explained the issue I was having with water seeping into my basement from an assumed foundation crack. An appointment was scheduled for the following Monday for a representative to come out and look at the issue. He came an hour early, but I did not mind. He looked at the issue and was very confused because it wasn't as "obvious" as he thought it would be. I measured and took pictures. He asked me to email them to Keith at the office, which I did in his presence. He again stated he was rather confused by how the water was getting into the basement, but thought we could go with one of two ways with the repair. He told me he would be following up with Keith, who would be contacting the owner about which way to go with the repair as it wasn't an obvious foundation crack, and I would get a call later that day that an estimate and a schedule date for the repair. Nobody called that day. At the end of the day, I called and left a message about scheduling the repair. 4 days later, I still have not received a call. This was my first time using Angie's list, and I'm terribly disappointed. No work was ever performed.
Description of Work: An initial assessment of the issue was conducted. The representative instructed me to email additional pictures to Keith. The representative informed me that Keith would be contacting the owner of the company to discuss how to proceed, and I would be called later that day with a quote and a date to fix the problem would be scheduled. This was the morning of Monday, July 20. By 4:30, I had received no call. I called and left a message wanting to proceed. By Thursday, July 23, no person from this company has ever contacted me.

Jim came out to provide the free estimate. He was very punctual and helpful in answering questions. It took a few phone calls before the repair appointment could be set up, but it might have been due to the end of year holidays. Steve, the owner, and another Jim performed the repair work. They were very personable and thorough with the work and clean up. They were able to seal up the cracks using low pressure injection of water activated polyurethane foam. There have been no further leaks. Steve was also very good about explaining in detail the steps to ensure a good seal and answering all the questions.

It went great! I have a basement that leaked water down the walls and the corners of the floor. When it rained heavy, I would get a foot of water. I spent a year calling different companies trying to find the right company to do this job. Two companies wanted to sell me a Tramco lift station. They are expensive but also it wouldn't fix the seepage problem. Another company told me I needed an overhead sewer system but wanted to charge me so much money I didn't think it was worth it. Somebody else wanted to sell me flood control that goes underground in the front of my house to block sewer back up. But again, would not solve the seepage problem. Another company I waited for almost 3 hours and the person just didn't show up when they said they would. Then I called Keith from American Crawlspace. He always got back to me and always called me when he said he would. He was very friendly and personable. The person who gave the estimate explained in detail what was needed and why. He was very knowledgeable. He went over all my options and made it clear what I should do. He answered all of my questions honestly. The price was also much better than the other companies. They worked very hard and did a great job. Everything is clean and looks great. If I need additional work done I won't even bother calling other companies.

We had an urgent need to repair basement cracks causing water leaks to meet contract requirements. I contacted some of the top rated waterproofing companies late afternoon on a Friday. American Crawlspaces Corp. was the only one to contact me early that evening to acknowledge my call, and they followed up on Saturday morning to confirm work requirements and schedule an inspection. American Crawlspaces Corp. cooperated to the max to coordinate the inspection and work dates for days and times when I could be there. They repaired three main cracks, and with minimal removal of drywall, quickly found and repaired a hidden fourth foundation crack. From first contact to end of work, we found American Crawlspaces Corp. personnel to be knowledgeable, attentive, cooperative and very professional. Prices were reasonable and competitive. They provide a lifetime transferable warranty. We plan to use their services again for our main home.
Description of Work: Found and repaired four foundation cracks.

They did a good job. I like them. They were substantially less expensive than the other companies that I've got. It was a positive experience. They showed up when they said they will show up. They were quick; they got it done in a day or two. They cleaned up after themselves. The workers were actually nice because they did a little bit more and I paid them individually to do more stuff. We met with probably four different companies but these guys were way far less expensive for what I believe is the same work.
Description of Work: We've used American Crawlspace & Basement Corp. They put in drain tiles.

In some ways it was good, but there were some things I didn't appreciate. I was told when the man came out to look at the job it would be a 2 man job. The day the work was to be done, only one man showed up, the other guy showed up an hour and a half later. At first they told me he was late because he was shopping for parts, but I knew that wasn't true since the first guy already had all the parts. Then they told me he was late because he was traveling from out of state. I was uncomfortable with the lie. Since only one man was working, there was more water flooding in the basement than there should have been. After they were done and they left, one of the pipes they put in wasn't sealed properly and it was leaking. They came back out on Monday to fix it. They did discount the rate they charged me because the one guy was late and because of the leaky pipe.
Description of Work: They changed the direction of the flow of water from the sump pump to the outside of the house.

I'm sorry you are less than 100% satisfied with us and about the fact that Scott had to stop for some additional parts for your job. That is why I gave you the $200 discount off of the price of the job, which is very rarely done. If you have any questions or problems with any of the work that was done, please let me know. I will make sure it is taken care of. Respectfully, Keith

Went very well. Felipe and his crew were very nice and worked hard in the harsh conditions of my nasty crawl space. They dug and leveled out 800 sqft of soil. The hardest soil that you could find too. installed new drain tile, sump pump, vapor barrier and 3-4 inches of quality concrete. They are very hard workers and completed everything in 1.5 days. Haven't seen any moisture or water in crawl. granted its only been 1 day. But its a lifetime warranty so you cant go wrong. They did great work. Cant wait to have them spray foam insulate the walls next.
Description of Work: Installed new drain tile system with new sump pump, Vapor barrier and 3"-4" of concrete in crawlspace. That was having moisture and water vapor issues.

I really appreciate the honesty and integrity of American Crawlspace. Not knowing anything about foundations or basement floors, they could have easily convinced me that repairs were needed. I would definitely contact them again with any other foundation or basement issues.
Description of Work: Brett from American Crawlspace came out to take a look at a couple cracks in our foundation and basement floor. He inspected the cracks, along with the walls in our crawlspace and determined that no repairs were actually needed.

They promptly returned all phone calls and called when they were running late - mostly due to traffic. Did a quality job within a week of being hired for the price that was quoted. The cement crew cleaned up so well, you could not tell they had been here for 2 hours. The smell of the foam spraying was strong during the application. We opened windows and set up fans. After 4 hours the odor had greatly dissipated and smelled no more than drying paint.
Description of Work: Cemented a pea gravel crawl space that was 4 ft. tall and approximately 275 sq. ft. A week later they came back and sprayed insulating foam on all outside walls (3.4 walls).

No service was required in this case, but their integrity is greatly appreciated.
Description of Work: Keith promptly responded to a request for an estimate. After describing the cracks on my basement floor, he let me know that no service was needed. In fact, this was a normal occurrence as the house settles.
