They were professional. They came out to explain what needed to be done and what they could and could not do. They were great. They came out in a timely fashion to give me the estimate and to schedule the work. The price was reasonable.

The crew arrived on time, and (after looking at my house's layout) decided to bring their intake hose in through the stairwell window, which I appreciated, as it had the lest possible effect on the rest of my house. It only took them an hour or so to spray all the insulation in, and my second floor is noticeably cooler now. No mess (they even covered my windowsills with dropcloths to avoid the hose rubbing the finish), quick and painless. I was especially impressed with their office person (Karla?), who is not only efficient but also nice! To qualify for my People's Energy rebate, I needed a "paid" invoice with additional information on it that their receipts apparently don't usually have. She didn't give me any trouble about it, but immediately sent me another invoice with the info added in; after the rebate, the entire job ends up costing me about $165. What a deal!

Fine. They came and installed the insulation. It only took a couple of hours.

I called last fall and received a prompt visit with a quote. The individual said that there was a broken vent pipe in the attic and I had to get a plumber to fix it. I finally had it fixed this summer and arranged for the attic to be insulated and an attic fan installed. The work was scheduled about a week in advance and they arrived on time and were completed in about 1 1/2 hours. The workers were courteous and cleaned up well after they were done. I was pleased with the work and the service provided.

Didn't do the job but I may contract for some blown in insulation.

Everything promised by this company and contractor was fullfilled as promised. The workman vacuumed the house when work was completed. The workman arrived on time and were very professional.

I called him about 2 weeks ago, and he called back immediately. He came out and gave me an estimate which I thought was very good. Because of the good recommendations that he had received on Angie's List, I didn't look any further, and I hired him. He actually gave me a discount because I found him on Angie's List. He was very knowledgeable and honest, and didn't try and sell me anything that I didn't need. The two men that he sent out to do the job were very professional. They worked quickly and insulated the attic in about 4 hours. We thought that the price would be about $3000 because of what we had read, and we were very happy to find that his price was much less. I am very pleased with his work.

It all went smoothly. I expect the work that was done will help us avoid some of the problems we had this past winter.

We bought a house that had been rehabbed, with new furnaces and air conditioning units. The house was hot in the summer and drafty in the winter. When our energy bills steadily climbed, we had American Insulation come in. They found one bedroom had never been insulated (house built 1962). In rehabbed parts of the house, some interior walls had either not been insulated at all, or only 3/4 of the area was done. The rehabber had also insulated the roof deck instead of the ceiling tiles. Since the work was done several months ago, we've been able to turn down the thermostat and our heating bill has gone down. I wish we'd done this sooner--like 4 years ago.

He was terrific! When he arrived, we gave him the background on our situation, and he immediately stated we needed to turn down the level on our whole-house humidifier as he noticed condensation build-up on all of our windows. He then climbed up into the attic, rearranged the positioning of some of the insulation we already had up there, and told us to buy a roll of insulation and showed us where we could install it in a small area ourselves (he thought the builder had done a good job and we had sufficient insulation, otherwise). He didn't try to sell us something we didn't need, and when we asked him what we owed him for the estimate, he stated "Nothing--it's a free estimate," even though he spent a decent amount of time with us, sharing his expertise on things we could do ourselves. It is so refreshing to work with a contractor who is so honest and ethical!!! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for an insulator they can trust. Thank you, Owen!!!

Our old insulation was mashed down and broken. Several people have told us we needed new insulation. I was very pleased. The guy showed up on time. I dealt with the owner of the company. He came out and measured everything. When I got subsequent quotes they were not as complete. He reattached some venting that had fallen down. He took extra steps to make sure the job was done right. They were here and gone in under 2 hours.

Overall was a great experience. They provided an estimate with two options and they explained what kind of payback it would be in terms of saving heating dollars during the winter. They came in on the day agreed and they did the estimate. They were also punctual on the day the job was supposed to be done. The job was done in a couple of hours as it was explained. The agreed price was exactly what we paid. The only one thing that was not very helpful is that they do not work during weekends, so my wife had to stay home during the week to get the job done (hence the B rating under the responsiveness category). But other than that a seamless experience.

They were priced reasonably. They came when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves nicely. They stayed within the estimate. They were knowledgeable and knew what to do and how to do it.

I was very pleased with their work. I had forgotten to get a quote for the area above the garage (which was a trouble spot because of all the icicles we had there). I called before they arrived and completed that area too, for an additional $150 over the estimate. The workers were on time, neat and professional. Good job and I'd recommend them. The only "do better" would be to be more responsive on phone calls. I initially emailed and it was 2 business days before they got back to me. I called and the fax machine was plugged in. However, the quality and professionalism of the job compensated.

We have a Florida room that had practically no insulation in the ceiling, called American Insulation based on the feedback here and they scheduled an appointment to come out and check for a week later. They arrived on time (Owen Porter) and took a look and explained very clearly what needed to be done. They called us later that afternoon to set up an appointment to blow the insulation into the crawl space the next day. The workers came on time and were in and out in less than an hour. No mess, no fuss.

Promptly came out to provide quotation. Was informative. Installation went fine. No problems.

I had scheduled others to give me an estimate but when the representative came out and gave me a quote, I canceled all the other quotes.

Went exactly as planned. They even let me take a peek to see what was done. No mess, they even picked up the loose insulation off the floor. I'm already feeling warmer!

Owen spoke to me on the phone and set an appointment. He arrived at my home promptly and gave honest and informative recommendations regarding heating/cooling solutions...which didn't include insulation as he felt that there was enough. He did not try to sell something that I didn't need and was professional and courteous. Although their services weren't needed at this time, I would call them and recommend them in the future.

It was a pleasure to work with this company. Owen Porter arrived at the scheduled time to give us an estimate and then spent a fair amount of time in our boiling hot attic checking everything before giving us the estimate. He explained lots of things to us at that time too. It was a pleasant surprise when Owen, himself, came back, about a week later, with a helper and then went back into our attic to blow in the insulation. They were very neat and clean and professional.

Owen did a thorough inspection of our attic and made recommendations. He explained certain features of our house which were common in the 1950's but which are now obsolete. They were on time and did a great job of installation and clean up.

Very pleased with their work. Two man crew, which included the man who gave me the estimate, came on time. Did work in slightly less than estimated time. Good job patching the holes made in the ceiling so that the insulation could be blown into the space above. Brought their own shop vac and left the premises clean.

They were really quick. They were very clean and picked up all their trash. They were very professional on timing. I would use them again and I recommend them.
