The story actually begins with another highly-rated Angie's List company I had initially spoken with. The company owner was pleasant and responsive, but took little initiative in providing me with information beyond answering my specific questions. And of course I am a novice in the field, possibly not knowing all the questions to ask. He also proposed using a less-than-top quality product, and when I questioned this and suggested we might consider another brand, he basically said, "okay" without offering any real advice or guidance. Accommodating, but not very helpful. Nevertheless, I just about gave this company the go-ahead when the deal fell apart because the owner would commit only to an estimate and not a firm price--he said he wouldn't know what he'd find until he commenced the actual work. I had no idea what kind of surprises he thought he might find, insofar as he did inspect my premises. But I decided I wasn't going to set myself up for what might turn out to be a much larger bill than I had anticipated at the end of the job. So back to Angie's list to find another highly-related vendor. This time I found Carpets in the Park, a family-owed business that's been around almost 40 years. The difference between Carpets in the Park and the previous company was like night and day. Joe Taylor, the President, gave me a really thorough orientation into the different brands and qualities of laminate flooring, made suggestions as to how the flooring should be oriented, and arranged for the materials to be delivered ahead of time so they could acclimate to my home environment. He readily agreed to do the job for a fixed price. He even sent his installer over ahead of time to get oriented to my condo and identify any special needs/issues. The installation was completed in a day and a half, less time than estimated. The installers were prompt and courteous. They completed the work flawlessly. I am very happy with my new flooring and with Carpets in the Park.

Joe returned my call promptly. He came over with carpet sample and suggestions for carpeting two bedrooms and two closets in my condo. The work was performed in a professional and timely manner. I am quite pleased and would do business with this company again.

He was very good. I had interviewed a number of carpet people and many people had bad carpets and they were not professional. When this man came over, he seemed to give me relief when I talked to him. I felt comfortable with him. He is very experienced. If there is a need, I would use him again in the future too.

Most of carpet installed the first day. Mill shorted the contractor 5 feet of carpet so they had to return to finish 30 square feet of carpet. They worked around my schedule to finish the job. Nice company to do business with.

Overall, we were very pleased with the process and the final product.

After talking with the owner (Joe Taylor) and giving a high level description of what I was looking to do, he came out on a Sunday to provide samples of hardwood flooring. I am not very familiar at all with hardwood flooring, and not very handy either. Joe was very knowledgeable and did a great job walking through the different flooring options, other considerations (e.g. gradients of soundproofing), and overall keeping things very clear, simple, and informative. Compared to a couple other estimates I received, his was very competitive and offered up a better warranty on the product and install compared to the others. Joe was very responsive with either answering his phone or calling / texting back immediately throughout the process to address additional questions, follow-up appointments, scheduling hardwood delivery, etc. On installation day, the four flooring installation guys were efficient and got the job done in a single day (11 hours), including painting/installing quarter-round, etc. Joe followed up the next day to make sure I was pleased with the results. There were a couple items that required a bit of touch-up; Joe had them come out the next day to get those quickly resolved in ~15 minutes to meet my discriminating satisfaction. Overall, my wife and I are extremely pleased with the results. Friends and family continue to be awed by the fantastic work and regularly ask me who installed the floors. I recommend Carpets in the Park. In the event that I move and wish to have hardwood flooring work done there, they will be one of the first that I consider for the work.

They were great. They were very responsive. I had talked to 3 other companies and went to a home improvement store to do my due diligence. They brought samples to my home and their price was competitive with a local home improvement store. They also recommended that we tear the carpet out a few days before installation so they could check the floorboards to see if there were any issues that needed to be taken care of before they put the new carpet in. None of the other companies had suggested that and I thought it was a good idea. He directed me to carpets that were low VOC, which a lot of the other companies didn't know about and it was hard to find information about it. They were the green carpets.

They were very professional and did a quality job. The carpet they installed was of good quality. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Joe came to give me an estimate and gave me a lot of information about the product he was recommending, he even directed me on-line to a TV review of the product on the Martha Stewart show. I was interested in low VOCs and concerned about any harmful chemicals that may have been used. Joe took the time to address this and was knowledgable about the topic. The carpet was ordered and then Joe waited until my painter was ready to have the carpet put in before scheduling the installation. Joe was very willing to accommodate my schedule. The installers were very polite and efficient and were done in a little over half a day. The carpet looks very nice!

Their bid was great and they were right on time. They were able to match the existing carpet with an exact same carpet. It looks fantastic and they did a great job.

The guys came at around 11:30 and were done and gone in 2 hours--2 man crew. They were polite, worked fast and effectively and cleaned up neatly after they were done. Great job. I was very impressed with every facet of Carpets in the Park and would not hesitate to use them again or suggest others looking for carpeting to use them. Joe was very professional and followed up well during the whole bidding procedure. He knows his stuff and was very fair during negotiations. I feel I got a quality product for a fair price with very good service. Very pleased.

Joe came out to my mom's co-op and brought samples. We picked out a sample of carpet and laminate. His crew came out later the next week and installed everything. It all looks beautiful.

Everything worked out very well. Scheduling the estimate was quick and efficient. I received the estimate on the spot and made the decision to set up the installation. The carpet and padding were installed within a week.

Their service was fantastic! The owner of the company was very hands-on, coming to the house personally and bringing samples. He tried really hard to get exactly what I was looking for, which was environmentally sensitive carpeting. He did a great job!

They were excellent. The owner of the company called me back the same day he got my email. He brought samples with him and we got the estimate about two or three days after that and followed up with me a couple days later.

I called Joe Taylor, and he came to the house at our convenience with carpet samples. We were thinking about replacing carpet with wood floor in some rooms, but he looked at the whole appearance of the house and gave us alternatives that would look less ''patchwork''. He also gave us advice on how to remove stains from carpet that was in otherwise good condition. My husband would have liked the carpet installed the same week, before our Super Bowl party, and Joe managed to get it in and offered to install it that Friday, but I asked him to wait until the next Wednesday, and he was fine with that. The installer came Wednesday around 9:30 am and was all finished by about 1:30. We are very pleased with the carpeting and job done.
