I plan to use them again for a backed up sump pump this spring. The price was reasonable. The price was worth the work. They did a good job. They came out right away so they responded quickly. They were right on time.
Description of Work: I used RJ Graham Plumbing to clean out my pipes. We had slow running drains and they cleared them. They had to do a major routing down through the main exit pipe.

The job took him longer than expected, so it was good to be charged by the job and not by the hour (as many plumbers charge). He stayed until the work was done - late for him on a Friday night.

 + -1 more,Steve and his assistant came out, identified several leaking areas where the initial repairs had been performed half-hazardly, installed two shower-heads and inspected and tuned the water heater as well. He showed me where and what repairs were done, gave advice on how to remove the water stains on the water fixtures and what if any replacements or repairs were or are needed as the property had sat empty for approximately 2 years. Steve and his staff were very courteous and professional ( in his expertise, honesty and communications) before, during and after the service call.
Description of Work: I was purchasing a foreclosed home and needed a certified plumber to estimate the cost of repairs. Steve at RJ plumbing came out and gave me the needed estimate and 2 months later after closing called him to begin the repairs. On the day of the repair, the village had not installed my water meter as needed and Steve was gracious and understanding and went ahead and rescheduled the appointment for the next day - saturday.

 + 1 moreI had originally signed up for a Big Deal with RJ Plumbing, because the pipe in the basement seemed to be slow, and I occasionally I could smell sewage. They checked things out by running water through the drains (washing machine, shower, sink, toilet) and said everything seemed to be ok. I was still concerned as I have had problems with that drain before. I was assured that if I thought I was having problems again that all I would need to do was call even if the Big Deal expired. Well, a few months later when the Big Deal had already expired, water started backing up into my shower. I called immediately, and they came out in just a couple of days and cleared the drain. Perhaps if they had simply cleared the drain the first time, I wouldn't have had water backing up into my shower later, but they did return as promised, at no additional cost to me. They were professional and always very thorough about explaining what they were going to do. I would definitely call them back if I experience additional problems.

 + -1 moreI have had a sink that has backed up on me at least once a year for the last 3 years. I have had other plumbers come 'fix' it. I called R J Graham and they set up an appointment immediately. When Steve ran into a delay on the job he was on, the receptionist called me and let me know that he would be an hour or two later than thought. Steve arrived only 30 minutes later than originally promised, fixed the sink in 30 minutes,cleaned up everything and was very professional, nice, and let me know I had had 2 major clogs in that line and he had had to use 56 feet of his line to get to the join where it meets the main line. I was extremely happy with being kept up to date on the plumber's arrival and with professionalism and quality of work done by this company. I am so thankful that I remembered hearing about Angie's list and finding this company through them. I certainly know where to look when I need to find other service people for anything!

I will say that the fact that we had a hidden broken pipe added to the length of the call and I know the plumber was late to his next appointment, but that was unavoidable. You just never know with plumbing what you're going to find. I do know that he called the next client as soon as he became aware of this issue and let him know that he would be later than anticipated. Great service. Professional and helpful. Will definitely rehire for the next job.
Description of Work: Our kitchen sink was unusable because any water going down the drain leaked out below the sink. We found RJ Graham through Angie's list and scheduled an appointment. They arrived within their estimated time and the guy couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. He completely reconfigured our undersink pipes which had been incorrectly installed by a previous plumber resulting in problems dating from the time we had our garbage disposal installed ... so we had problems with the sink backing up from time to time as the angle of the pipe was wrong. Anyway, the plumber took care of that with great care not to make a mess ... kept testing the system. Got everything reassembled only to discover that there was some other kind of issue we were unaware of ... a completely broken pipe behind the wall. He patiently replaced that and then removed two steel ball bearings from our garbage disposal (no idea how they got there!). He was meticulous about cleaning things and flushing out the entire system and even advised us on a safe enzyme product to clear out our pump ... which he said was working too hard because of grease clogging it. We are definitely having him back to address that problem in the near future. At the end he asked us if we were satisfied. I have to say ... a resounding yes! We thought we wouldn't be able to have a garbage disposal because of the slant of our pipes ... we were able to keep it and have no issues with leaking or backing up now. I am thrilled. We finally have a plumber who knows his business!

However, on the day of service, they were scheduled to arrive between 11am and Noon. 1230pm arrived, I called and was told the plumber would arrive in 20 minutes. At 1pm, I called back, and was told it would be over an hour. I understand emergencies happen and other jobs take longer than expected, but i can't understand the total lack of communication, and mis-communication that occurred here. I sought a refund for the "big deal" I purchased, and was able to get my money back.
Description of Work: I had a kitchen sink clog. They were hired to come out and route the drain line from the kitchen.

 + 0 moreFrom the on-site repairman to the individual answering the phone and setting up the appointment, they were helpful and courteous. We were in the middle of a basement buildout and needed to fit the plumber into a tight window between other jobs. Despite very short notice they were able to accommodate us. The repairman offered helpful suggestions on products to use for our sump pump, as well as provided us with other helpful tips unrelated to the work he was doing. We definitely will use RJ Graham again.
Description of Work: In two separate service trips, they repaired a broken exterior water faucet and installed a new sump pump with battery back up.

 + -1 morePlumber had come out a few weeks before to do the job, but thought that I might be under warranty for the old faucets. Advised that I check before using the ones I had purchased. I did investigate and could not get the company to replace the faucets since I had no proof of purchase and due the age of the faucets. I then called RJ Graham back and scheduled another call. They came out the second time and replaced the faucets. They also had to replace supply lines which were not included with the new ones. The work was done in a timely manner. I was not happy that the circular part that fits in the sink drain was not replaced, even though it came with the new faucet. I was told that the price I'd been given did not include replacing that part. The old one was chipped and has a different finish than the new faucet, so they don't match. I thought that was considered a part of the faucet and would be included. I didn't know I needed to ask, so I suppose that was my mistake.
Description of Work: Two bathroom sink faucets were removed and replaced with ones I had purchased.

 + 2 moreWe had a blocked sewer pipe (50 year old) running from our kitchen to our septic tank. He came out when he said he would, gave us two options: one was to flush and add access cap ($1500.00) one was to replace the pipe all together ($3000.00). Tried the first option. Worked great! $1500.00 seemed like a lot, but plumbing is expensive. I would recommend this company. I plan on having a new tankless water heater installed by RJ Grahm. Professional and personable.
