 + 0 moreWe purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for a chimney sweep, but ended up having the firebox repaired in the process too. The sweep went well. We had just purchased our home a month prior to getting the service performed, so it was important to us to also have the chimney / fireplace inspected. The inspection was on par with the home inspection we'd recently had performed (new house), but Todd was able to add some more detail - since he is a certified specifically for chimney sweeping. Todd was very up front about what my options were, and what the consequences for each were. Our chimney wasn't too dirty after all, and since this was the first time I've owned a home with a fireplace - Todd was able to answer many "first time" questions that I had for him (fireplace do's, don'ts, and even how's). We went with Todd's suggested repair, to use a high heat / flame resistant caulk (for lack of a better word) to fill in the gaps around the bricks, and a few cracks, in the firebox. The Big Deal saved us a lot of money, with $99 towards the chimney sweep itself (about half of what we were going to pay if it weren't for the Big Deal). Repairing the firebox cost another $100 - which was well worth it. I agree with everybody that I've spoken with, that we got a good deal for what we paid; and it was quality work too. Overall - Todd and his associate were very punctual, prompt, courteous, fast, honest, and professional. I was most surprised that they were exactly on time, and done (even with the added fireplace repair) within the window they had originally quoted me. I couldn't be happier that I decided to give these guys a try, and would (and have) recommended Todd and his crew to anybody else looking for an affordable job well done. We've since had our first fire in our new house, and it was great! Thanks Todd!
Description of Work: We had a full chimney sweep including chimney and fireplace inspection. We also had the fireplace repaired by having the seams between bricks and a couple of cracks filled in the firebox.

 + -1 moreI would rate my overall experience with this company as excellent. Todd answered all the questions I asked even with regard to gas fireplace logs. He advised that if I had any additional questions I should telephone him.
Description of Work: I responded to an Angiie list special price offer ($99) from Custom Cleaning Concepts for a chimney inspection and cleaning. As instructed I contacted Todd Evan to arrange an appointment date. On the appointment date he arrived on-time within the two hour window. Todd and his assistant Larry laid down protective tarps. They ispected and cleaned the chimney. All residue was vacuumed and the surrounding area was cleaned. In addition, Todd pointed out several minor cracks in the firebox. He stated that they did not pose a danger. With no pressue from him I asked that he repair the cracks. He did so for $30.

They came when they said they would, did great work, took great care of everything in the home. You would never know anyone had been there once they left, but I saw the soot they got our of the stack myself, so yeah, they were. And they are nice guys. Go for it.

I asked if he could install caps on the day of the cleaning and he said he would return in two days with the parts.  + -1 moreI found out about this company through the Angie's List Big Deal. I called to set up an appointment and my call was returned the same day. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the service would be performed within three days, because I had expected a much longer turnaround. I was told they would arrive between the hours of 3 and 6 and Todd, the owner, and his assistant got to my house at 4:20. From the start Todd was professional and friendly. He took care to not walk on any carpet and covered all floors with drop cloths. He first inspected the chimney and commented that it was good shape, pointing out a small area where some mortar was cracked but otherwise in good condition. He spoke about proper fire venting and the most common occurences that result in chimney maintenance problems. He finished his service by cleaning the chimney, noting that we had a small bit of creasote buildup that he had removed. In summary, he was informative, polite, and professional. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing an inspection and cleaning of their chimney.

When I called to make the appointment, I assumed I'd have to leave a message for them to call me back in order to schedule. Nope - Todd answered the phone right away and we had the appointment scheduled within 5 minutes. On the day of the appointment, Todd called to see if they could come in the morning instead of our scheduled time in the afternoon. When I said I could not have our appointment in the morning but could arrange to have it a few hours earlier, he was very polite and appreciative of my schedule flexibility. He arrived at my house promptly at the rearranged time. He and his colleague were very courteous and happy to answer any of my questions and give me pointers on maintaining the health of my fireplace. They did not try to 'sales' me into paying for unnecessary repairs or products and were done with the chimney service in less than an hour. I will definitely be using Custom Cleaning Concepts for any cleaning needs I may have in the future!

 + -1 moreTodd and his assistant arrived promptly. They placed tarps on the floor for protection before beginning to work. They inspected the chimney, both inside and out. After cleaning the chimney, they provided inspection results and suggestions for future maintenance. While on the roof, Todd noticed the gutter was clogged and unclogged it for me without charge. When it came time for the bill, he reduced the rate as I mentioned I got his company's name from Angies' List. I was very satisfied with his work and professionalism. He is coming back in a week to clean the windows of the house. I highly recommend this service to Angies' List members.

Description of Work: We needed our chimney's inspected and cleaned if necessary. Todd checked everything out and we had a clean bill of health. There was a crack in the firebox, which he repaired on the spot. We were looking to find a new glass door for the fireplace, but it is a rather odd size and couldn't locate one immediately. Still need him to return and caulk the location where the old door was, but my wife was greatly relieved to know that everything was in working order.

 + 4 moreThe experience was great. The house hasn't been this clean in years. I have always hired women cleaners because I assumed they would naturally be better cleaners, but I think the boys have the girls beat hands down in this case. What is nice is the guys are strong and can pick up and move the furniture or T.V etc...to really get to hard to reach areas. Every cleaning lady I've tried individually or even cleaning companies say they are not allowed to or don't move furniture. They will barely move a kitchen chair to clean. They are also very careful with breakables and fragile things and are knowledgable about what products to use.
Description of Work: I first used Todd and his cleaning assistant for a thorough and complete top to bottom spring cleaning on the house back in the beginning of March. He has been coming every week since. This included moving the furniture, turning the couch over to clean hair and dust off the bottom, removal of all the pillows on the furniture to vaccuum them on all sides. They removed everything off of the shelves and dusted and washed the shelves and dusted what was on the shelves. They washed down all the walls and all the woodwork and doors. They took down all of the ceiling light fixtures and washed them then put them back. They cleaned all of the hanging light fixtures, ceiling fans, lamps etc... They also cleaned under and behind beds, dressers, cabinets etc... Todd does the best job cleaning a bathroom than anyone I've ever seen. They dusted, washed, and dried the hardwood floors. Todd cleaned behind the washer and dryer and beside it. Todd also cleaned our fireplace and did a thorough chimney sweep, and cleaned and checked all of the gutters on the house and garage. He also cleaned and organized an outdoor area next to the garage where outdoor machinery is stored. He also checked the machinery by starting it up and hauled away the garbage from that area. Todd is scheduled for a complete window cleaning on the house and garage in May when the weather gets better and a garage cleaning and organizing. Todd is very detailed and always checks the entire house after they are finished to make sure nothing was missed. He is very open to suggestions and will clean anything when asked. I've had many cleaners who have their lists of "I don't do..." and who think they are above certain jobs but Todd and his crew don't think of themselves above any job and are up to any task. Custom Cleaning is the second business that Todd has owned and operated so he is very professional and experienced.

 + -1 moreI initially went with a company off of Craigslist who also stated they were rated A+ on Angies Loist.. A couple days after the company did the job, the chimney cap flew off. I then called and spoke to Rob of the "Chimney and Air Duct Cleaning Company". He said he would send someone out. They no-showed TWICE. I kept calling back and they did not return my calls. I then spoke to Todd at Custom Cleaning Concepts. What a GREAT experience! He was professional, courteous, did not try to sell me something I did not need and was very responsive. He did not have the part when he came to my house and said he would be back in a couple of days to do it. He kept his word. He not only fixed what the first company messed up on, but he also installed 4 other vent caps on my roof. If you need cleaning or chimney services, go with Todd Evan from Custom Cleaning Concepts.
