Went well. There was not a match for our bricks. Coast-to-Coast did a nice job hand coloring lines on new bricks and re-using some old bricks to match existing brick work.

I cannot say enough about Roman and his crew, they were extremely professional and did excellent work. We were under a very tight time frame to tuckpoint and repair some brick on the front of our 1925 house. I called Roman and he came out with in a day to bid on the work--two days later his crew and he were here to complete the work. The repair work looks fantastic and the motar matched very well with the existing motar. We strongly recommend this company and plan to call them if we have additional work in the future. Thank you!

Romen was very punctual (early) and got us the estimate. As soon as the weather cleared their team came in and repaired chimney. It took two seperate visits due to damage. Everything was completed on time with great communication. Great company, reasonable prices, solid value.

From a quick professional telephone appointment set up to end, we would definitely use Coast to Coast again! On the day of initial consult, Lake County experienced a big storm that took out power for several days. We did not expect anyone to show up for our scheduled appointment. However, not only did someone show up, he called 15 minutes before the scheduled time to say he might be late due to traffic lights being out delaying traffic! He was on time, knew what we wanted, knew what to do but still said his partner would return to get exact measurements (which he did). On install day the work was done quickly, efficiently and the end product looks perfect! We did have an issue with two windows that were vented and couldn't be installed as originally planned due to a beam in the basement ceiling. We were told they could get material from a local home store to rebuild the windows onsite & also suggested another way of reusing the same unit (which is what we did). That's a professional mason!

Coast to Coast Masonry is a professional company from start to finish. I found them on Angie's list and then contacted them. They promised to come out for an estimate on a certain date and a certain time. On the date we had agreed to meet for the estimate they called us about 30 minutes prior to our meeting time to let us know they were on their way and would be there slightly early. The very next business day I received a fax copy of the their estimate (an original followed in the mail a day later). They gave me two options, one to just paint the existing chimney cap and 'clean it up' and the 2nd option to totally replace the chimney cap. I opted to replace the chimney cap. I selected the option on their quote and faxed it back. The owner contacted me that same day and negotiated a date to come out and perform the work. On the day before the agreed upon work date I received a call from the owner reminding me that they would be out to my house the next day to perform the work. I wasn't sure my wife would be home but the owner assured me that it was all outside work and there was no need for anybody to be there. THey came out the next day and performed the chimney work, quickly, efficiently and NEATLY! They had even found a roof shingle that was missing during the estimate and brought a replacement shingle and installed it. When I arrived home that night I was impressed to see the work completed and NO MESS left at all. It was almost as if nobody had even been there. Additionally, during the estimate, my wife had spoken to the estimator and mentioned that we had some bricks on the face of the house with mortar missing. I didn't even know she had spoken to them about this. That night when I was looking around she mentioned to me that she had spoken to them about this. I told her it wasn't on their quote so they didn't miss anything. However, on Monday I emailed the owner and mentioned this to him. He responded immediately and was totally embarrassed that he had indeed spoken to my wife about this and then forgotten to put it on the quote. He told me, in his email, he would have somebody out to our house that afternoon...and the add'l work would be no charge. I responded that I did not expect the work to be done for free and to please send me an invoice for the add'l work. HIS response was to reemphasize that he would not charge me for the work since he had forgotten it in the first place. Later that afternoon I was working from home. The bell rang and there was a Coast to Coast employee letting me know that he was taking care of the missing mortar. He left about 30 minutes later...with the work all complete. You can't go wrong working with a company that is THIS professional AND still believes in (and practices) good customer service. From this point forward I will be using Coast to Coast for ANY brick, roofing, and masonry work. I would recommend ANYBODY needing these types of services to look no further...hire Coast to Coast.

We dealt with Mr. Roman Zajac, company secretary, and person that came out to inspect and complete bid. All were pleasant, punctual, polite. The bid turnaround was 24 hours. The job was done neatly, quickly, clean and organized. Roman answered all my questions quickly via phone and/or email. I had 3 bids. One was close to Roman's price but the painter did not return calls; the other bid was twice Roman's bid. We were pleased with this company and have recommended them to our neighbors/friends etc.

To me, the way Romen runs his company speaks volumes for his level of service and the quality of his work. I won't hesitate for a second to call Coast to Coast again in the future for masonry or fireplace type work.

Romen came out promptly to give us a quote on tuckpointing & a small repair on our 40 year old house. The quote was slightly higher than another quote we received, but he was so positive and eager to get the work done, we decided to go with him. Our other quote had also included a repair to our concrete chimney cap, and Romen was willing to add that to his quote without additional charge. He also noted that a limestone sill below our back door had shifted and added that repair as an option for current or future repair as needed. His workman was prompt, professional, pleasant, and cleaned up well after himself, and did a very good job with the details of the work. Our only complaint (initially) was that the color of the mortar was too dark in some places to match the old mortar. Romen sent his workman back out to apply acid to the mortar to lighten it within a few days. It helped somewhat, but there were areas that were still very obvious to us. We were a bit frustrated and thought that it would never be right and were reluctant to have them come back out to have it "made right". Romen patiently convinced us to allow them another try to get it right. He sent his partner out quickly, and he used tools and brushes to scrape down the new mortar a small amount, and 'magically' it was then nearly perfect. We are very happy to have used Coast to Coast, as, in the end, the job was very well done. We suspect that most companies would have said that the color match was close enough initially, and certainly would have given up after the second attempt. Romen was tenacious enough and was willing to keep at it until we were completely satisfied with the work. He even said they would return again, and grind out the mortar and start again if necessary to get it right. We can't remember the last time we dealt with a company that was willing to go so far to make their customer completely satisfied. We HIGHLY recommend them.

Roman was very easy to work with. He gave me a number of repair options and even threw in a couple of extras (tidying up someone's prior work). My house has a distinct mixed brick pattern and I was worried about how it would look after it was rebuilt. Coast to Coast was able to match the brick work exactly. Very pleased.

Roman was prompt, courteous, honest, and professional when he came by the house to determine what work needed to be done. He was one of only 2 people out of 7 who actually got onto the roof to get a closer look at the chimneys that needed the work. He was also one of only a few contractors who said they could find matching bricks for our project. The quote arrived quickly, was very detailed, and neatly presented. He dropped off a brick for us to approve before any of the work started and we were impressed at how close the replacement bricks actually are to the existing, tricky to find, bricks. The crew showed up at our house on time, did fantastic work, and left the site tidy when they were finished. I will use Coast to Coast again should the need arise and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have masonry work done.

A couple of years ago it was brought to my attention by the company who usually does our chimney maintenance every year that we would need the top portion of our chimney rebuilt. At the time I requested our present chimney service to give me a quote which I later found out to be way too high. I put off doing the chimney repair until this year. I searched Angie's List for 3 good rated companies. To my surprise one was the chimney service I had been using for the past 5 years. My first call was to Coast to Coast Masonry. I spoke to Roman Zajac who was very pleasant and accommodating on meeting me for the inspection and estimate of rebuilding the chimney. Roman arrived on time and proceeded to unload his ladder and went up to the chimney to do the inspection. After the inspection Roman sat down with me and explained in detail what needed to be done. I expressed my concern with matching the bricks and mortar to the original chimney. He assured me he could match the bricks. I was very impressed by his thoroughness and detail of the work that was to be performed. I noted everything we talked about in my notebook just in case the contract he was to send me had a discrepancy. I told Roman that I will keep him in mind and had a couple more estimates from other companies that I wanted to interview with. I set up a estimate from the next company and they never even knocked on my door. They just sent a person out who didn't even have a ladder to inspect the chimney and proceeded to send me a estimate for tuck pointing only. I never even considered this company. So a couple of days later I received a contract via email and mail from Roman. To my delight every aspect of what we talked about was in the contract word for word. This was probably the most detailed contract I have ever seen. It listed in detail every step of the work they would be performing. I was really impressed. In the meantime I had called my usual chimney service and they showed up and proceeded to give me a quote much higher than Coast to Coast quote, so my decision was to go with Coast to Coast. I called Roman and told him I would like Coast to Coast to do the work and I would send him the contract via mail to start work. Roman gave me a start date a couple of weeks out and we were all set. A couple of days later Coast to Coast came out to measure bricks for size and color. Stanley was the guy who came out and he seemed very detailed in measuring and sizing up the bricks. Stanley showed me a couple of bricks he had brought with him for my approval in color. Day 1- Coast to Coast came out and started the work of demolishing the top half of the chimney. It was noisy but that's to be expected. My concern was just how messy was it going to get? It looked like most of demolition was almost complete after the first day. Once they left after day one I went out to the work site to see what kind of mess was left. To my delight the crew had cleaned everything up and kept the area very organized. I was also happy that they protected my air-conditioning unit from any debris that would have fallen into it. Day 2- The remaining of the demolition was completed and the rebuilding process was started. After a few rows of bricks had been completed I noticed that the new brick and mortar did not seem to match, I immediately called Roman to express my concern and he came right over to check on the situation. As I am not a masonry Roman assured me once it was all dry it will match the rest of the brick. I told Roman that I will trust his judgement on this so it was a wait and see situation. Coast to Coast even replaced bricks in the corner of another area of the chimney going that extra mile. Once again the after the day 2 the crew kept the area clean and organized. Day 3- The rebuilding continued and by then I could see by now the bricks after partially drying from the day before were beginning to match the rest of the chimney, I was relieved. The chimney was mostly completed on day 3 with the exception of the cap. Again the crew kept everything clean. Day 4- A few days had gone by due to some rain and time to let bricks and mortar to dry, Coast to Coast returned to complete the the cap on the chimney and to finish up some tuckpointing on the rest of the chimney. Coast to Coast came back a couple of days later to apply the water seal to the entire chimney. Overall I was very impressed with the way Coast to Coast did the job at hand. I highly recommend this company. The honesty of such a company is very rare these days and it truly was a delight to see Coast to Coast performing a honorable service. Thank You Coast to Coast.

I received an in person estimate and Romen answered all my questions. He carefully explained the process and timeline. The workers were very nice and did the work exactly to plan. It does take about a couple of weeks for the company to come out and do the work. But it was scheduled ahead of time and there was no real rush.

We are very pleased with their workmanship and professionalism. They did an excellent job for us in April. At no additional charge, we recently had them back out to fill one last opening in our brickwork where we saw birds flying in and out. Excellent customer service!

They were on time, totally thorough, and went above and beyond what was expected of them. They cleaned up after themselves and just did an overall teriffic job! They caulked around the windows which wasn't included in the contract, and did everything they were supposed to. The brick wall which is the finished product looks great! The price was extremely fair and we were given an Angie's List discount and senior citizen discount. We were so pleased! They were extremely professional and I would highly recommend them.

We are very pleased with the results. Roman came out to do the estimate and was very personable. A crew of about 2-4 guys came to do the work. I was very happy to see that we could not tell where they had tuck pointed because the new mortar matched so well. This was something I had been worried about. Another company had performed work on our home a few years ago and everywhere they tuck pointed you could really see it. Coast to Coast was able to re-do the poorly matched tuck pointing as well as completely tuck point all the areas we needed to have done. Everything matches so well. I was very pleased with them and their service and would recommend them.

Fantastic company to work with. I've recently purchased a new home and had many contractors working on projects. These guys are the best (and I've had some good ones thanks to angies list). Romen is very helpful and professional. He helped us by giving an over the phone estimate before we closed on the house to help with negotiations and then came to give a final quote after purchasing our home. His crew was very good, respectful, and did a quality job. They were very honest and I really trusted their opinion. Romen very clearly described what was a fire hazard vs. more optional repair instead of trying to do as much work as possible. I need to do my roof and Coast to Coast is going to come back out to fix up the flashing (no charge) once the roofing company is finished. I will recommend to neighbors and friends.

Roman came to do the estimate and was very detailed and honest on what needed to be done. He took time to show me and prove to me where he saw the problems. Estimate was very fair with competitors. Work is being done exactly how it was described and with professionalism. Their work is very detailed, I don't see any corners being cut. Stanley and work team are very friendly and listen to your observations on the job and input. At the end of each day they clean up and put back everything how it belonged. Overall, it was a good experience working with Coast to Coast on this project. This was my first time working on a masonry project so I had a few questions even though this probably was not a complicated project for the company. After talking to Romen the first time, he came out within two days to give me an estimate. Romen was easy to talk to and answered all my questions. An estimate was given to me on the spot and one was also mailed to me. My intention was to get two more bids but after talking to Romen and reading the company's reviews on Angies List, I decided to bypass other bids and use Coast to Coast. The two man crew that worked on my project were very nice and I liked how they showed me the outside hole before they sealed it. Coast to Coast did a great job and I would definitely use them on my next project. Note: $700 cost includes Angies List 10% discount. Coast to Coast guarantees the work for two years and did not require a down payment.

It was a great experience working with Roman and his crew. Roman showed up on time for the estimate and was very honest as to what we needed. The crew was immaculate at cleaning up the outside of our house as well as the inside. The crew wanted to make sure we had no questions as to what was being done. They were there for us and not just for themselves as a job.

The work started as soon as the weather allowed and seemed to go without a hitch.The end result is a chimney that exactly matches the house as if it was the original. My overall experience with coast to coast was fantastic. I received estimates from 3 different companies and coast to coast had the best solution at the best price. From start to finish the coast to coast team was punctual, professional, and just plain great to deal with. Both employees that I had in the house took special care to be clean. They treated my 2 very friendly cats with respect, even though the cats were non stop trying to get into their lap while they were working. The work was completed on time and it looks great with no more leaks. Not only did coast to coast have the best price for the 2 caps to be replaced but they also at no additional charge repaired a damaged damper and repaired some damage to the fire box. I would strongly recommend coast to coast to anyone in need of masonry type work, and I plan to call them in the near future to work on interior veneer for the fire place.

Romen Zajac came out in late March to give us an estimate on replacing the cap on our chimney before we replaced our roof. We were also unsure about the condition of the rest of the chimney. Roman was polite and professional and not only checked out our chimney but checked the condition on our entire brick house. He told us that the chimney needed some tuckpointing but the rest of the house was in good shape. I pointed out a few small mortar cracks by our front door and asked if they could be tuckpointed after doing the chimney and he said it was no problem. After we chose our roofer, the roofer told us to have the flashing removed around the chimney so any repairs could be done before he put new flashing on. We brought this up to Roman and he had no problem with it. The Coast to Coast crew came out on a Saturday and was polite and efficient and went right to work. When they removed the flashing they found that some more tuckpointing needed to be done. When they were done, they caulked the tops of the baby tins to insure we would not get water in the house should it rain before the roofer started. They also used a camera to check the condition of our flues and said everything looked good. The crew came back three days later to remove the forms for the concrete cap and apply the sealer. The project went smoothly and we were very pleased with the experience.

Showed up on Friday 13th and took 3 days to complete the job as chimney took a day and stone ledge was difficult to reset as it was glued on. 2 men did most of the work and were very repsonsive as I had many questions being unfamilar with masonry work. They were professional in responding at all times. My only complaint was they did not have enough drop cloths and small pieces of stone and cement fell in my landscaping. When the job was finished I called Romen to tell him I was happy with the work but some stone remained in the landscaping surrounding my house. Romen took care of it and had 3 men at my home within 2 hours to clean up. They spent an hour sifting thru the dirt picking up any remaining debris. I could not have asked for a better response time to the situation. Masonry work can be noisy and messy for those of you who have never had it done. Although the job took a day longer then I anticipated, I was more than satisifed with Coast to Coast. Romen's quote to complete the job was spot on. He is a gentlemen and a pleasure to deal with.
