Good. Plumber who came did a nice job. A call from the office let me know he was running a little behind the promised arrival.

The technician quickly found the issue and repaired the leak. He also check out a couple of other plumbing items in our home while he was here.

Did check of sump pump. However worker was unaware of other items offered in Angie ad's deal.

I contacted TopTec because they were recommended by Rheem, which is the hot water heater brand, I was interested in purchasing and having installed. I contacted the business and was put in touch with "Ken," their plumber. I told Ken what I needed and he said he would get back to me. Problem was, he never got back to me. Then I called the business again a week later and informed them about what had happened. The receptionist apologized and said she would have Ken call me. Guess what happened? No one called me. TopTec must just be that popular and making too much money, so it can pick and choose its customers. I gave them two chances. I won't waste my time on a business that can't even call you back. Neither should you.

They're very reliable. One technician came and he was great.

Seemed ok when they left, then the valve started gushing water (much more than before which was a drip) about 30min later. When I called again (to get that itemized estimate which I had requested) they said it was because it would get worse over time. After getting no estimate I decided to just google it myself to see the cost of the parts. When I did, I noticed the Relief Valve was left up and open. When I shut it, the pipe stopped leaking water in about an hour and went back to a slow drip (like it was before they visited). Seemed like negligence at the very least. I wasted extra money on my energy bill because of it (the water was coming out hot, so gas was being used). I should have just googled it myself in the first place instead of calling. Still needs to be fixed but I will find someone else to do it.

Overall, they did very good. The work took maybe 30 minutes or less. There was one technician and he left the area clean.

I had used TopTech a few years ago for a water heater problem and was impressed by the quality of their service. When I found they had an "A Rating" on Angie's List, I called them for this job and was told I would get a call back. I was a bit troubled when I didn't get a call back after two working days so I called them again. This time I got an immediate response and was able to talk to a plumber about the situation and what I wanted done. He was very helpful, explained that they had a slightly different approach, and convinced me why their approach was better than the one I had in mind. He quoted me a price, we were able to set an appointment for the next day, and he arrived promptly on time. The installation went very well, I appreciated the thoroughness of the work, and the professional manor. The price was on the higher end of what I had expected to pay but the value of the service justified the cost.

The tech cleaned and vacuumed the interior of my furnace and everything seemed to go fine. That next morning guess what my furnace is not working called the company back they sent the same tech and he said he did nothing wrong. He told me the igniter went out and I need a new furnace, I almost blew my top trying to up sell me a new furnace with his carelessness in a simple cleaning. I had to shove out $380.00 for a new igniter and that's not all my water heater sprang a leek the next day which is right next to the furnace. I tell all my neighbors never the call TOPTEC they'll just rip you off a terrible company with no ethical code. Bad Bad Bad. Greg C

John S. was prompt and kindly explained the simple fix to the problem. He removed what was blocking the drain at no additional charge and suggested a product that would help keep drains clear while not damaging my septic system.

Adam from Top Tec was extremely professional, punctual and responsive. I used an Angie's list coupon for a heating outage issue at a rental unit. Adam showed up on time, communicated with the tenant and kept me updated on the status along the way. Adam quickly fixed the issue which turned out to be a safety lockout of the furnace. There was no additional charge besides the service fee. I was pleased with the overall service and would love to hire Adam and Top Tec again.

Our furnace was not working and needed the annual cleaning. We purchased an annual cleaning service through Angie's list, and asked them to also diagnose and repair the unit. The technician said he traced the problem to a pressure switch. The replacement of the switch did not fix the issue and the technician "thought" the issue may instead be the inducer motor (which he also replaced). Afterwards the unit did run and the error code lights no longer were signalling a problem with the unit. A short time after the technician left he called to say he had forgotten to hook up the thermostat wiring before and had instead wired the unit to work on constant heat (it continuously ran after he repaired it). He returned and reconnected the wiring. Within a few hours we noticed that the furnace was not going to second stage at it had previously done, and called TopTec to check their work. We asked that a supervisor be sent given that the previous tech seemed to be a bit inexperienced. The "supervisor" came out the following day and spent several hours "diagnosing" the issue (for an established HVAC business it did seem strange that the "diagnoses" took several hours). Long story short - the "supervisor" determined there was either a major issue with the furnace's circuit board OR the main blower was about to fail or was not working properly. He estimated the cost of repair was in excess of $3,000 and recommended instead a complete replacement of the system. The TopTec owner assured us that any money we spent on repairs would be applied toward the new unit while quoting the cost of the furnace and AC replacement at over $10,000. Given the cost of replacement was so large, and the unit was only 12 years old I had other HVAC contractors assess the need for replacement. While many were very happy to replace the unit, I was told the reason for the issues with the furnace were tied to a lack of adequate returns on the system. For $400 (by another HVAC tech) I was able to add three additional returns and now the unit is working better than ever. My main complaint with TopTec (aside from the questionable service practices and recommendation of an expensive replacement of the unit): They are billing me an additional $350 for the "supervisor" to spend multiple hours diagnosing why the unit was not working properly after their tech had made repairs the previous day. Despite the multiple hours working on the unit and "diagnosing" issues with it, at no time did the TopTec technician or supervisor find that there were insufficient returns in the system which was causing the furnace to not function as designed. Total repair cost for replacement of the pressure switch and inducer motor was approximately $1,200.00. Other HVAC contractors have since quoted me far less for that repair - and questioned the need to replace the pressure switch.. And - despite being charged for a "furnace cleaning" it does not appear it was cleaned as it has been by other HVAC service companies. My personal experience with TopTec has led me to conclude - avoid them at all costs. It does not appear to me they are working in the best interest of their customers.

This company exceeded my expectations. When I called initially to schedule the service, I was connected with the plumber who came and did the work. He asked very specific questions, which probably really helped this not happen as frequently as it has happened in the past. I am in a ground floor condo, and this has happened at least 4 times previously. My upstairs neighbor has a garbage disposal (which most plumbers say is a disaster for any homeowner). When I hear him use it and my kitchen sink drain burbles, I know I am going to have to call a plumber. This plumber was the first one who asked to have access to my neighbor's condo which is right above mine with the same floor plan. He rodded out that drain and it fixed my problem. He didn't even have to rod my drain.

Service experience was great and was unit was serviced as expected. Service person took care while completing needed work.

Salesman was knowledgeable, friendly, and low-pressure. Replacing HVAC units is never cheap, but their pricing was reasonable. Scheduling was easy. Furnace replaced as proposed, with no issues. Will be replacing AC in the spring.

I am not saying this is a scam, but close. I went to the $59 promotion of furnace tune-up(regular $100 or so) and I just got what I paid for - not much. The technician told me where the filter is and how to take it out - That's it! I got no conditions report of the system, no any cleaning , no lubrication etc. Next time when you receive this half-price promotion emails, straight to trash.

Person who came was very nice and professional. It went pretty well, just the quote was completely unreasonable.

Gary, their head electrician called me and came out. He quickly figured out an odd partial fuse failure off the main line. 150 amp fuses are not easy to get and within 24 hours he was back and not only did he replace both he thought to get me a spare! Any company that goes beyond the simple "fix what is in from of us" and thinks ahead gets my vote! I called them again for a different issue this week.

It went great! They were able to complete the inspection in a very timely manner. In and out! No complaints!
