I did not get siding because the salesman convinced me that it would be better that I repaint the house using Tex-Cote (CoolWalls) elastomeric paint. Great paint job ! Lots of work was needed on my 1920's Craftman home. The only complaint was that the workman did not return all the items back to the original place where they moved it from.

We wanted to have new siding put on our house and a new garage door/entryway constructed. The salesman (Bob) told us that these would be 2 separate projects & would be handled as such. No problem there. However, he also told us that we could finance these projects or pay for them with checks. That������s where the lies started. We did not want to finance the work so Bob told us that we would be required to pay a down payment for each project (2 checks) and were required to give him the balance for each project in 2 additional checks which ������would not be cashed until the work was done������. The 4 checks were dated July 10, 2015. Bob called into some 800 phone number to have the checks approved and each seperate check received an acceptance code which I wrote down. However, all 4 checks were cashed on July 30th severely over-drawing our bank account. I������d arranged our account to cover the down-payment checks, but not all 4. Now we������re paying fees for being over-drawn. At this point the work had not even begun. More lies occurred when we called Bob to ask why all the checks had been cashed. After a couple of phone calls, Bob told us that Sears had ������changed their policy regarding the check cashing & were offering us a 10% refund which he would put in process ������soon������. He did not offer any other options at this time so we accepted the refund assuming we would get it in a few days. It has not yet been processed & we are being told that it ������usually is done at the end of the work so they can accurately bill us. That makes no sense since there will be no bill. They already have our money & know NOW how much 10% is! Then the workmen arrived to begin the siding work & at that point, we were told the garage door project could not be done the way we had contracted for since it involved structural work. We would have to settle for simply putting in a new, much smaller door. We are now being told this door will cost the same as the larger door & they will only ������refunding������ some of the labor costs. At this point, we spoke to the sales manager (John) to talk about the ������refunds������ who told us the info about the refunds coming at the end of the job. This is when we also learned that when John informed Bob about the 10% refund option, John had also told Bob that we could also have gotten a FULL refund & financed the whole project at that point. We were NEVER given that option. At this point, the siding has been put on but we have no information on the shutters (on back-order still?), nor the gutters or anything to do with the garage door project. Neither have we received any additional information about ������refunds������. Please warn others about Sears' broken contracts & false paying procedures.

Our sales guy was wonderful and the workers went above and beyond their actual job. They noticed we had a lot of boxes and trash in our back yard as we had just ripped up an old rotting deck and were just starting the building of a new play set for our boys; the workers carried all the trash, lumber and concrete to the curb for us for bulk pick up. They also repaired an area of our softet where birds had built a nest and damaged the wood. This was an overall wonderful experience from beginning to end and it was very quick as well.

Very professional and new stuff

Had a good experience from start to finish. All details were handled as agreed. From tearing off old siding, installing new siding it took three days, Each day installers cleaned up all areas where there was scraps. Everything that had to be taken down from my house to place in siding was put back together when they were finished with the job. Did a great job and friendly.

Sears staff and contractors both were very friendly and helpful. Work was completed quickly. Job well done. I recommend these people to any one needing siding applied to their home.

They were not able to do my project but they schedule the appointment

Sears handled getting all the contractors in place for my siding, windows & doors and Garage Doors. All contractors do great work and Sears has great warranties and Financing.

Unable to rate the service or quality, as the material will take 6 weeks to arrive

Signed contract on 15 May 2015 and the work still has not started. Just excuses and more excuses( other jabs, weather to crews doing work elsewhere. Over a month and still waiting. Been with Sears since 1986. Need to rethink.
