Sears Home Improvements - Siding

I had very simple siding project , met with the rep beginning of August , couple weekd later received call that the material were ordered. Then scheduled working on 11/9 , it took 3 months for half day work . Then on 11/9 no body showed up ! Called Sears , had no idea what is going on , promised to call back once they find out what happened, then no body called untill 5 days later . Somebody called apologizing that they had to cancel due to the weather. They cancelled without letting me know and kept me waiting all day. Then rescheduled and sent me private independent contractor on the weekend of 11/19and 20th . It was very bad experience and will never ever have any other projects with Sears in the future.

Work not done yet - waiting for date - est. about Dec 5- was quite impressed with man who did estimate - had visual aids explained everything - price was much higher but seems worth it -had a terrible experience with 1st company I hired and fired them - they neve did the work ,never answered calls and letters etc.Sears seems MUCH better

The salesman was very nice, the person in charge of the installation crew was awful. I paid upfront and she never kept in touch with my project. When I finally was scheduled , 2 months later, she told me the crew would be there between 8am and 10am. I got up that morning at 7 am and it was raining. I waited for the cancellation, but heard nothing from them until 9:45, when she finally decided to cancel. Very poor service. I had taken time off work and she expected me to reschedule for the next day--also calling for rain. I told her no, she offered to cancel the job but was keeping 10 percent. I told her I would call her with my next day off. I called and left a message with said date and never heard back. I emailed her with my next day off and that was when she finally responded saying my refund was in the mail. Terrible service!

Good work, and communication:

My experience with Sears was very bad. The person that quoted the job was great. I paid for the job in full up front. The supervisor never came by to evaluate what the first guy said he would do. Then they showed up 2 months later to do the job and said they couldn't do it. Because it needed prep work. Well if he would have showed as he was supposed to. I would of known that. The only good thing they gave me my full refund back.

Won over by the time and care taken in the initial visit. The obvious knowledge of the project requirements and willingness to answer questions was compelling.

I needed to replace all the siding on my 1300 ft² home. It turns out Sears is the only place that does vinyl siding where I live. A very nice lady came and sold me For complete rework with trim and gutters. It cost me $16000 and would take about 5 weeks. Everything was going good until they had to put in the trim for the windows which looked very ugly. It made my house look like a manufactured trailer. I brought my concerns to the lady who sold me and even sent her pictures. When she got back to me she said that that was a company standard and that's how everyone does it. I don't care how everyone does it if I don't like it on my own home and it's something that I'm paying for. Now, they finished the gutters and the pipes are very obvious and hideous. My roof is low hanging so if you're walking on my patio your head is going to hit the drain. I called to complain about this And the customer service person was very unfriendly. They're going to take this complaint to someone but who knows if it'll ever be fixed or if they just give me another excuse. I can't believe I spent 16 grand on such a cheap ugly improvement. This is not an improvement.

Looks like I have a completely new house now. I was told it would take about 1 week, but it was completed in about 4 days.

The price was a excessively expensive. They're measuring was inaccurate.

There should be more communication through Sears, the supervisor on the job. The workman were superb. The work was done neatly. I am very happy with the work.

The guys were professional, nice, and cleaned up after themselves everyday. The man who installed my door was very meticulous. I have had so many compliments on my new siding and door. One neighbor even asked for contact info so she could replace hers. Of all the contractors who have worked at my house, Sears had the most professional and reliable. I only have positive things to say about these guys!

The job was done well and in a timely manner; the installers were polite, professional and helpful. The service reps from Sears, Abdul and Mario were super. They went "above and beyond "; these guys really valued my business. I am very pleased. One year later, after discovering issues with gutter drainage several weeks after install and giving Sears several months to rectify these issues, I must say that follow-up service was poor and argumentative. The service manager displayed a woeful lack of understanding of gravity, water and drainage.

I have had my siding installed for over a year now and I haven't had any issues with it. The cleanup wasn't all that great, but they did a good job with the installation. They started when they said they would, and as far as I can remember, they finished on time too. I think it took about 4 days.

The gentlemen who came to assist me where amazing. They walked me through the process and provided me with several payment options. The installers were amazing and went above and beyond.
