Description of Work: Electrician did not come with correct work order, so he had to go back to his truck 3 times for correct tools and parts. So I had to pay for an extra hour to complete all prescheduled requested work. Work was done well and correctly. (mounted flat screen tv to wall and changed 3 electrical outlets)

Description of Work: I had a laundry list of small electrical projects: In the kitchen/dinette with its 10' ceiling: removed ceiling light fixture above island & replaced with new hanging light fixture; removed fluorescent light fixture above sink and replaced with new fluorescent light fixture; removed hanging light fixture above dinette table and replace with new hanging light fixture; removed existing two wall switches that control above fixtures and replaced with two new wall switches, one of which is a dimmer controller for both new fixtures; tested all kitchen GFCI outlets and replaced one that was faulty. Master bathroom: tested two GFCI outlets and found them to be in working order. Master bedroom: removed existing ceiling light fixture and replaced it with fixture earlier removed from above kitchen island. Foyer,10'ceiling: removed existing ceiling light fixture and replaced it with hanging light fixture earlier removed from above dinette table. Study: removed existing ceiling light fixture and replaced with new ceiling fan & light kit. Installed new wall controller for fan & its lights. Patio: tested outside GFCI outlet and found it faulty but I decided not to replace it then as I didn't have the caulk needed to finish the task that day and I didn't want the outlet exposed to the weather. | |Sound Construction's Mick was prompt in arrival, listened well to what I wanted done, worked efficiently and carefully, aimed to please (i.e., patiently adjusting hanging light fixtures' height while I decided on the best positions,) and left my house as clean as it was when he arrived. I wasn't sure my "laundry list" would fit into the 8 hour service package I'd bought so put it in priority order. I was very happy that all my projects were completed and done well. I'm very satisfied with Mick/Sound Construction, Inc.

Description of Work: I highly recommend Joe and Sound Construction and have already recommended them to friends looking for work. We had them build custom built-in bookshelves, a direct vent gas fireplace, HD TV, sound bar and 2 wall sconces including running new electrical and gas lines. We originally had looked at hiring a carpenter, fireplace guy and electrician to do each phase of the work. But, based on good Angie's List reviews spoke to Joe Teresi at Sound Construction and went over the plans. It was great to hire one company to do it all. They worked with the village to get all permits, worked with us to create custom plans and took care of everything along the way. Could not be happier with how it turned out. We will definitely be using them for future projects at the house.

Description of Work: Measured and picked up necessary supplies. Replaced rotted trim around garage door. Work completed efficiently, excellent clean up and old wood neatly stacked for disposal. Did excellent work.

Description of Work: I purchase Big deal from Sound contrastruction, since I used them before and it was fine. This time after I payed already I got an e-mail from them that they are booked till at least 2 weeks from now. I need the job done urgently, so I want to get a refund and hire another contractor.

Description of Work: Installed 2 ceiling fan fixtures, replaced two circuit breakers and installed GCFI outlets. | |The work was done very well. I had a list of items that I wanted to have done. One of the most important item on the list was "skipped" in favor of doing some of the other items. I would have liked him to stick to the list in order of importance. Initially, I felt that the parts were a bit expensive and requested an itemized cost breakdown of the parts - which was provided. |Overall he did a good job.

Description of Work: Removed all drywall in family room, including the ceiling, as well as wood trim and 2 doors. Installed new room doors, oak trim, steel door into attached garage, 2 new ceiling light fixtures, all purchased by customer. I also purchased the door casings and oak base moldings and the stain, polyurethane. Installed new 1/2 inch drywall, primed same. |I had to delay the original schedule due to some other work that had to be done, then Frank had to reschedule due to illness in the family. |The work was done professionally. They took a thoughtful approach to planning out the job, and fixed some issues that appeared when the old drywall was removed. Some of the drywall finish on the ceiling at the edges was imperfect, but not very noticeable. Much lower dust than I'd expected. A good choice for a basic remodeling, if you're willing to put some effort into choosing materials.

Description of Work: Be wary of using Sound Construction, they will tack on additional costs to your job that any experienced and reputable contractor should have been able to anticipate in the estimate. |I purchased an $849 Daily Deal for a new electric panel with installation and requested an additional estimate for installing recessed lighting, additional outlets and rewiring some switches. Sound Construction came out for the estimate and to examine the current panel. They mentioned that they may have to pull the meter, get a permit and do some rewiring for the panel swap but did not note that on the estimate (nor that it would be an extra cost); the estimate on the other items was also higher than the other bids I was receiving but they seemed honest and I moved forward with the panel swap/additional work. When the electrician arrived he was not aware of the extra requirements of the panel since it was not noted on the estimate and added an additional cost of $750 to complete the replacement. I declined the panel swap and was told I had to go through Angie's List for the refund for the Daily Deal. Needless to say that started things off on the wrong foot since they already came in higher for the rest of the work and originally thought it would just wash out with the discounted panel in the end. The electrician was courteous and a nice enough guy but was working alone. He advised me that he would be starting early (around 7:30am) but never showed up before 9:00am. He also mentioned on several occasions that somebody was to come out and help him, but nobody did which dragged the job out for 3.5 days. Additionally, they tacked on $725 for rewiring a switch but I didn't want to bring in somebody else at this point so I begrudgingly agreed. Finally, the electrician left small holes in my ceiling from the previous light fixture that he said he would have his helper fix. With the aforementioned helper a no show, I never held him to it since I didn't want to drag the job out any longer. I will not be using Sound Construction for any jobs I feel that the additional costs for both the panel and rewiring one switch to be excessive and unjustified, let alone the quality of work concerns. |

Description of Work: This was an Angie special ...3 hours work for $99....they started with one hour in may or June (I forget which month) and finished in August....it was not emergency work, but still, that was the longest 3 hour job..clearly use them for a bigger job as I am sure that is that is what most carpenters want.

Description of Work: We had 3 bathroom fixtures lights removed and new ones installed, three new fans installed. Switched were installed so that fans could be swithed on to low or high, dining room fixture removed and new one added, and dining room fixture was replaced with one in kitchen. Work went very smoothly, and everything was left neat and clean. We were VERY satisfied and looking to get pricing from Sound Construction to finish our basement.

Description of Work: Mick arrived early & proceeded to remove a ceiling fixture in my son's bedroom & replace with a ceiling fan with light. Installed a ceiling fan control pull chain switch in the kitchen. Checked the outside outlet box to see if a new outlet could be installed. Very happy with work done. Sound Construction gets an A+ from me.

Description of Work: Mick from Sound Construction is an amazing resource who handled a laundry list of electrical services from swapping out 7 can lights for LED to replacing 4 exterior fixtures, 3 rooms of interior light fixtures and updating 45 year old sockets while adding GFCI outlets in bathrooms.Pleasant. timely and extremely professional. I will definitely use his service the next time I have electrical needs.

Description of Work: On July 1, two men from Sound Construction came by. Discussed the job to be done. Spent 20 minutes looking at the site, left. A few days later, girl from their office set up appt. for Monday July 7. Waited . Never showed. Called their office three times, got voice mail each time. Work never started.

Description of Work: Company did the initial job in 2 hours. He had to leave an hour early. He did not finish by vanishing the wood installed. We arranged for him to come back on a set date. We forgot he was coming and were not home. We tried to contact him, we never heard from him again.

Description of Work: Installed ceiling fan, fixed miscellaneous electrical issues in the kitchen with a dishwasher and a light in the basement.

Description of Work: General repairs...laundry list from patching cracked walla, electrical work, bathroom vanity install, enough to fill 3 days.
