Description of Work: They screwed down a loose step or two and a railing on my back deck, recutting the railing to size because I hadn't been able to. They also cut out part of a wall that a clueless plumber had put a hole in and attached a piece of drywall in the basement laundry room. Then, since it tooke them only a little over an hour and I'd paid for two, Ralph went around the house with me and patiently and thoroughly answered my questions about other small jobs that needed to be done that they don't usually do themselves but could advise about.

+ 0 moreI tried calling last Wednesday-Friday but it said their voicemail was full. I then wrote them an email last Friday to schedule the work but still have yet to hear back from them. UPDATE: After leaving 5 voice mail messages (office and cell phones) over the course of 3 days, I finally sent an email. Two days later, I received an email inviting me to telephone. I phoned the next day, and he returned my call within a few hours, but by then I had lost confidence and cancelled my Big Deal.

+ 0 moreI hired them because of the deal - I believe it was $89 for two hours of electrical work. The electrician let me know beforehand that he thought it could take longer than the two hours. I was still hopeful, but it ended up taking about 4 hours. He did an excellent job with the install, which included me making an extra trip to Home Depot b/c the light fixture I picked out was too large for the space. The only part I was disappointed with was that it took longer than I expected and I needed to shell out the additional $. At the end while he was cleaning up the mess, i almost wanted to send him on his way, clean up the mess myself, and keep my cash. Overall, the service was excellent. They were prompt and professional. I would definitely hire again.
Description of Work: They removed a bathroom mirror cabinet with attached light fixture and put up a new wall fixture. They also installed an electrical outlet with light switch.

Description of Work: We have a full size shower stall in our Master Bath, which was leaking & made a hole in the ceiling of our Family Room. I called 3 companies for estimates on replacing it. 1 company did not show up at all, & the other told us to take pictures & send them to him & he estimated the replacement to be $8,100. The 3rd company, Sound Construction, Inc, came out to our house to look at the damage & right away said that, hopefully, all that would have to be done with the shower stall, was to replace the drain, but he wouldn't know that for sure until he opened the ceiling in our Family Room. When he did, he replaced the drain & put some wood pieces around the drain to keep it from moving as we stepped on the shower floor, which was, in turn moving the drain, making it leak! They charged us $700!! They then agreed to do some more work for us, they remodeled both of our upstairs bathrooms, new floors, new sinks & vanities, new toilets, new light fixtures, painted both rooms & cut new baseboards & painted them, rebuilt our exhaust fan & put in a new timer for it, put a new faucet in our kitchen sink & put a new light fixture in our Family Room bathroom!! It cost us a little over $2,500!! They were clean, neat, always on time & did EXCELLENT work! They said that anytime we needed anything done, no job was too small for them! We are so lucky we found Joe & his Family's business. I cannot recommend them enough! Please take me at my word, they will not disappoint you!

Description of Work: Ralph installed a finished painted chair rail and re-attached woodwork that had come away from the wall. He also nailed down a few loose pieces of shoe. He had to cut the chair rail to fit along a longer wall to a shorter one. He did an EXCELLENT job with the corner cut where the two pieces meet. It looks great. On another wall it was just a straight cut piece but he did have to taper and finish off the one end and it looks great too. He also filled in the nail holes! I thought that I was going to have to do that. Ralph was on time, courteous, and did not leave any type of a mess behind to be cleaned.

+ 2 moreContractor showed up on time. He went into the crawl space and checked the subfloor and joists. He didn't find a problem there, so he continued to investigate. He was able to determine the source of the squeaking was coming from the interior wall, not the floor. He pulled up the baseboard, inserted a number of shims, then replaced the baseboard. The squeaking was significantly reduced in some areas and eliminated completely in other areas.

+ 0 moreThey came out in a timely manner to provide an estimate. The estimate was reasonable but I did see they had coupons on Angie's List. I asked about the coupons and somehow the estimate was even higher when using a coupon. I probably should have been warned away at this point. We scheduled to have the work done. I was told they would arrive between 8:30 and 9:30. By 10:30 on the day they were supposed to arrive, no one was there and no one had called. I called all of the numbers I had and no one answered. I left multiple voice mails and then finally sent an email. Joe did not call me back but instead responded only to my email. Personally if I ran a business and forgot to show up at someones house, I would immediately call them to try to fix the situation. Joe claimed someone else with the same first name called to cancelled an appointment and he had just assumed it was me without following up. He was unable to send someone out that day. Joe said he would call the following Monday and never did. After not hearing from him again, I called to let him know we would no longer need their service. He did not follow up with this email. I went with this company due in part to the large number of positive reviews. Perhaps my project was too far away or not expensive enough for them to consider it a priority. Their lack of communication was appalling. I hope they do not treat all of their customers like this.
