I didn't prepare well. I had 2 hours of electrical service but I only could think of a couple of things.But he check the front an back lights. I thought the entire set up needed rewiring but he confirmed that there was power but the fixtures were bad. He offered to install new ones but suggested it was not difficult and would cost me much less if I installed them myself. And I did go and by fixtures and installed them myself and it was worth it to do it and learn something new.

Update: on Wednesday 11/26 I called to follow up on an email I sent requesting someone come look at an outlet that stopped working. I had been told to shut off the breaker to the outlet until it could be checked, which meant I was now without a garage door, porch light and most of my living room outlets. The gentleman on the phone said he could have someone out on Tuesday - 12/2 - to look at it. I asked for after work hours, he said he needed earlier so he could have "light to work by". I took an hour off work to meet him at 3 PM on 12/2 - the agreed upon time and date. No one showed. At 4:30 PM I called to find out what the issue was, if someone was en route, etc. and got voicemail. As of the update of this review, I have not received a call back to handle the issue. It appears - based on my own experiences with this company - that the either glowing or terrible reviews are based on the actual subcontracted electrician they send. If they send Mick, he's prompt, professional, curteous - all things worthy of an "A" rating. The other subs - or possibly the entire rest of the company - doesn't seem real interest in customer service or doing follow up on previous work and earns the "F". Gamble at your own risk. I needed several small things completed and one large (I thought) wiring correction. Mick called the day of the appointment to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. When he arrived we walked through the list of items I wanted done - the largest being the correction of some out of code wiring done by the previous home owner during a basement reno - so we could prioritize the projects. Mick was very informative and gave me options regarding the incorrect basement wiring and what we could do to save money (since there was no safety issue with using the existing wiring) and totally left the decision of which way to proceed up to me - never pushing one option or another. Based on the information from him and his explanation of the type of wiring present, I felt comfortable in choosing the option of him just correcting the actual wiring connections to the various outlets and grounding it all. He also changed out an incorrect (too high) fuse for my AC, added an additional outside outlet with protective weather cover and GFCI outlet, and added a junction box for a motion light (which he also installed and tested for me) on my garage. Mick was very willing to answer questions and explain/show what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable and has an outgoing, friendly personality. I will definitely be contacting this company again for any future projects requiring an electrician.

He worked for 2 hours, then he said I need a contractor to open the wall, put in a fixture. But another company was able to do it without opening up the wall in 20 minutes.

I purchased the Big Deal for Sound Construction, but then we & they agreed that this wouldn't work out, so we cancelled the Big Deal, and my money was refunded. I am satisfied with this interaction.

Ralph arrived on time. He removed the old, rotten piece of worn siding and its support piece as well. He trimmed down the pre-stained new piece I purchased and the underlaying support piece as well. Ralph then Installed both and caulked the edges. Looks perfect. He cleaned up everything and took the old scraps away. Could not have asked for better service or a more professional job.

The owner, Ralph, and Greg arrived on the date and time promised. They were able to get right to work because I had been asked questions before the job started so that they could arrive with the necessary materials. The work was done quickly and efficiently, and they cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. I would recommend them highly.

Seller and I had a communication error in terms of service area but the seller was very cooperative in cancelling the work order as he did not work in the town we needed the work in and Angie's List people were also very helpful!!!! Thanks

We had a miscommunication in terms of the work address so work not completed because the actual work area was outside his area. Too bad because we were looking forward top working with this company.

we will use these guys again without a doubt. but if you do not want that's ok they will be busy at my house

He was very professional, on time, knowledgeable in his craft, gave advise on how best to proceed in the project finished all the tasks given. He did a wonderful job and I will use Sound Construction for future jobs. Great job!

After purchasing the deal and filling out the required form I was left to believe the Sound Construction Inc. would contact me within two business days. They never did. I finally contacted Angie's List after waiting two weeks and got a phone number. I called them and left a message. They returned the call within two days and told me they would call me again in 9 to 10 days, I was put off by this but I agreed. They never called. I again called them with no response before requesting this agreement to be cancelled and getting a full refund. A lot of my time was wasted and I believe Angie's List could of taken a more active role in getting some resolution to my problem if I am to believe they are my agent.

I have to admit I was a bit worried because this was the first time I used Angie's List. I couldn't be happier with the results of this experience. I knew things would turn out well when these guys came out on a Saturday to review the job. Sound Construction is a first class operation. They communicated prior to the job, called to confirm dates and arrived on time. Very professional in appearance. Got the job done and did all the cleaning and removal of the old equipment and debris. The work was done so well, the electrical cabinet looks like it has always been there. The house is over 50 years old and Mick just went to work and got the job done. I strongly recommend Sound Construction to anyone for electrical work. My wife and I are very happy with the work and the results. We will definitely use them again.

The first time they were supposed to come, they got delayed with another customer and couldn't make it in the time frame we agreed on. Because of this, the electrician worked us into his schedule right away based on our convenience. When he came back, he was professional and courteous. He installed the outlet in a little over an hour, and showed us how to use it. I would highly recommend this company for electrical work.

Arrived on time and completed the whole job in a reasonable amount of time. I am impressed at the professionalism and quality of the products used, it is a seamless install, would definitely use this company again for any of their services,

I call him 2 weeks ago and he said he would call me back next week. Which was last week and the time came and went and I never heard from him. I have left him voicemails. I ordered this big deal on May 21st and I am yet to get this work scheduled because will call me back.

On two separate occasions in May 2014, I requested a quote/estimate from Sound Construction on a bathroom remodel and some electrical work in my kitchen. Sound Construction did not respond to either inquiry.

We did not use the provider since we could not schedule a firm date for work to be done due to their busy schedule.I was happy with their prompt communication and will keep them in mind for future projects.
