Description of Work: Provider was over booked due to "special" price offering. Couldn't offer me service before I left this house.

Description of Work: We originally agreed to an an install date on a Saturday in June. However, when the the installer arrived I was informed that the bath fan did not include a light. It was my oversight, but I need a light in this location. I was informed that a bath fan with light would be an additional $90 charge. I agreed to the extra fee, but the installer did not have any of these fixtures in his truck. I also notified the installer of my need for someone to install a light fixture on my front porch (which I would have paid more money for), but he did not seem interested in the job. I have attempted to reschedule the installation of the bath fan with light, but their availability is limited. On my final attempt I was told that they no longer take Saturday appointments and the latest they schedule appointments during the week is 2pm. Well, those hours of availability are unacceptable to me and I have contacted Angie's List for a refund of my Big Deal.

Description of Work: Vendor contacted me in a timely manner (soon after i purchased the Big Deal) to schedule an appointment but could not schedule the appointment within the month.

Description of Work: After buying the Big Deal ($89 for two hours of electrical service) on Aug 5, I received an email three days later saying that they were booked up until Sept. 23. I was a bit upset, but decided to email and call and get an appointment set up as soon as I could after that date. My email was never replied to. I called five times during this 7 day period, and left a message each time asking for at least a courtesy call back. No call ever came. I subsequently got a refund for the Big Deal, which was really a Big Bust.

Description of Work: I have bee trying for weeks to get an appointment to have the work done, I received an email last week stating that the soonest appointment would be in September and to let them know what I needed done, I replied and have not heard from them since. I would like a refund for what I paid as I cannot seem to get the work done.

Description of Work: Sound construction was prompt in contacting me.My schedule did not match there availability. We exchanged several emails.The company's response was quick and they did offer me a selection of dates. The work I required was immediate.

Description of Work: We had a 220 line put in. The job was well done and pretty much in the time frame required. When I set up the appointment they let me know what parts we needed, I had them ready, and the tech processed with the installation. We were very happy with the service.

Description of Work: Supplier notified me at once telling me to contact you. I did so, and you replied immediately. No complaints here--just disappointment that the supplier couldn't do my work.

Description of Work: Joe responded to my first call within a few days, but I wasn't able to get him to schedule the work (a month out) until about a week after my initial call. He was very helpful in answering my first question about whether I had to procure the matls or not (he offered to provide matls to replace 5 stairs with stained oak planks and get me a cost estimate, but I never got an answer on that, after 7 days & a 2nd text request with a picture to remind him). When I had a question about the order of work (floor project before stairs, or vice versa), I never heard back. I ended up canceling the project 2 days after my 2nd request was ignored, based on my own conservative cost estimate, but wish he would have gotten back to me. May still have Joe do the work in the future, if we have enough left after all our other projects.

Description of Work: I bought the coupon for $89 for 2 hours labor. Sound Construction was easy to communicate with and schedule via email. The guys came out as scheduled and, within the 2 hours, installed a new chandelier using scaffolding and 2 other ceiling fixtures. They were quick, efficient, and I would highly recommend them!

Description of Work: I bought two big deal coupons for the service from this service provider. The first deal is bath fan installation. They came and install the fan in March. They did good job on this. I am satisfied with their service. On the other hand, I am waiting for them to come back for second job. However, the service provider inform me that they are not able to perform service at this time due to family matter. Due to the reason that the second coupon is expiring, and I am not sure when the service provider is coming back, I would like to get refund for now. Thanks

Description of Work: Went fine. Company called me within 8 hours of leaving message. We talked about my problem with the circuit breaker and they apologized but said that they had no openings until after July 8th. At that time I started researching other companies so I could get the job finished.

Description of Work: The repairman came out as agreed. He looked at our unit and explained that their unit was not designed to actually operate in the shower as ours was. He suggested that we contact Angie's List and get a refund. The receipt does not indicate the name of the company.

Description of Work: Joe as usual was prompt and courteous. I have used Sound Construction I believe 3 times now for ceiling fan installations mainly and no issues.

Description of Work: Needed an outside electric outlet put on its own breaker. Joe came out and looked at the job and stated it should be an easy job. I asked if I should purchase the deal for two hours of work for 89 dollars. He insisted not to bother he will give me a price that will be good no matter how long the job takes. If I by the coupon and it goes over he would have to charge by the hour. I received an estimate of $180. After agreeing to the price we set up an appointment. Received a call after my scheduled appointment window, The electrician was caught up on another job and would be a few hours late. Received a call after the next scheduled time that the electrician was going to lunch. The electrician finally arrived and realized the job would be harder then anticipated and wanted to charge more for the job. After discussing the job for awhile we decide on a different route and put a different outlet on its own circuit. The job took ten minutes. I then received a lecture that his time is money and he will be charging me for an hour. What about my wasted day waiting around for him. Around midnight I realize he connected the breaker but disabled the old one. None of the other outlets were working and my second refrigerator was out. Contacted them the next morning and he said he was on his way. Half hour later I received a call stating he making a different stop and would be here when he was done. Another half day wasted and he arrived, spent ten minutes and was done. A job that should have taken fifteen minutes took a day and a half and I got a aggravating lecture on time is money. Also was told the guy who gave the estimate was not an electrician so he doesn't know what a job will entail. Overall was not happy with the experience.

Description of Work: I wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciate the time and effort that Sound Construction put into working with us. We were debating re-doing a bathroom that was recently completed. He understood that we may or may not do the project, but they gave us a very complete and detailed estimate. His estimate was very competitive and the quality was top notch. I know that should we ever change our mind about the project or decide to do another project, this is one company that we will contact. I strongly recommend that if you are considering any sort of remodel or construction project, that you contact Sound Construction Inc.

Description of Work: Misc electrical work. Replaced outlet inside and outside, fixed outside lights, changed switches

Description of Work: Service provider arrived on-time on scheduled day. Installer noticed that the proposed new exhaust fan was not compatible with my existing configuration. The new fan would not support the light associated with my existing fan and the new fan included a square grid enclosure. Since my existing ceiling cutout was circular (not square) additional dry wall work and painting would have been required. The installer had removed the old exhaust fan, motor, and associated light in order to determine what would have been required to complete the job. Based on the unforeseen complications and compatibility issues, I chose to cancel the install. The installer was very courteous and professional, and provided all the info required to properly analyze the situation.

Description of Work: I called provider to schedule work and was informed that they are not licensed to work in the city of Chicago. I was told I shouldn't even had received the Big Deal offer. Provider was professional and handled the situation well. It sounds like more an error on Angie's List side.
