Description of Work: We are very pleased with Ken and KET Home Services. Not only did he save us money but he was patient with all the questions I asked. We called Ken for a second quote on A/C replacement after reading his reviews. Our first quote, a company we were with for 15+ years was being deceptive and trying to overcharge. We are glad we found Ken and have a new go-to.

We are sorry we were not able to meet your expectations. We believe that we did your job to the same standard as all our other jobs and I was on the job to finish the sheet metal and seen how it was installed. I hope that you are not leaving a poor review based on my stern reaction to you constantly approaching our workers to offer advise while not wearing a mask and coughing constantly. We were very nervous of your presence since you told us you worked in a hospital. We take covoid precautions seriously and you were asked repeatedly before i was brusque with you. My apologies for that but I believe it was necessary for both the protection of my employees and your family members.

I did respond to your request the very next morning at 7:45 am after you requested service at 4:45 pm. "Friday, May 4, 2018 Unfortunately, we do not service the Evanston area. 7:45 AM" The above is the exact message I sent you copied from the Angie's list message center which is where you chose to contact me. You did not leave a phone number to call you so that is the only option to contact you. At that time I explained that we do not do service calls in Evanston. Not sure why you would leave a negative review. Thank You.

Description of Work: Kevin arrived within the window, and let me know he was on his way. My AC was not working, he was able to identify the problem and fix it, going to great lengths literally and figuratively. It has worked all summer without an issue so far. The experience was great!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that we did not receive a higher grade for pricing, However, we do have minimum service fees that we have to charge. We believe that the amount we charged you was fair as we did spend quite a bit of time the night before trying to solve the problem over the phone. We were not able to find the problem without a trip and did give priority scheduling due to the fact that you are an Angie's list member. We arrived at the job before normal business hours as we had a full schedule for the day already. As it turned out, it was a minor problem that was easily fixed and we did so and charged the minimum fee. I believe that we charged $75 but will need to confirm by checking our records. We try to be as fair as possible with our pricing and consider this a fair price for all involved. Please feel free to call us in the future and we look forward to serving you again! This is the gem you're looking for! Without the overhead of a large company, he works to keep busy and not to gauge out pocket books. He was easy to reach even in the evening, performed the work when he said he would, worked long hours to complete the job, came out on a Saturday to explain everything to my husband, and did a fantastic job.

As a home owner with no prior experience in gut rehabbing a 100 year old home, I've faced my share of challenges since I decided to not use a general contractor. Given this, I was very glad to have hired Ken to install a new HVAC in my home. His services are reasonably priced and Ken himself is very knowledgeable, committed and accommodating. I came home from work on one of the coldest nights of the year to find my furnace had shut off. When I went to the basement there was water all over the floor, the hose to the Aprilaire humidifier which is mounted above the furnace had come loose and sent water into my new furnace. It was in the mid 50's in the house by this time. I called the company I purchased the furnace from but they said it would be 4-5 hours before someone could come out. I got a referral from a friend to Ken Thomas who owns K.E.T. Home Services. He did not know me but he was over to my house in about 20 minutes, leaving his wife and dinner to wait. He was able to get my furnace running again and clamped the hose so it would not come loose again. His response time and price were quite unbelievable and I can't say enough about how much I appreciate what he did for me when I wasn't even a current customer at the time. But I will be from now on! He is the greatest and a super nice guy.
