Safeguard Waterproofing - Ram Jack Illinois

The garage portion of our house had foundation and settlement issues when purchased six years ago. We deferred the repairs at that time although we did get three estimates. The work was rebid this fall and each proposal was very different in scope and price. Ramjack was selected and sent their engineer to review the project. The engineer found significant additional problems. The president of Ramjack contacted me saying he wanted to look and figure out what was happening. Long story short, they prepared a second price (and offered to refund my deposit if I chose not to use them), were still competitive, and completed the work including new piles and foundation splice plates. The crews were outstanding and the jobsite left in pristine condition on time and without extra charges.

Tim Barry spent lots of time with us in person and on the phone explaining the process of piering and why that is what we needed to do to repair our house. He was always responsive to our questions and was very thorough. The repair was costly but very competitive with other estimates we received and they came highly recommended. The workmen they sent were punctual and efficient and they cleaned up after themselves every day. The work took around three days. I would highly recommend them to any one who needs foundation repairs.

The meeting with Tim was very productive and I felt their proposal was honest and that had I chosen their company for the work they would have done a great job. I had two great bids, and it was essentially a flip of a coin to choose between the two.

This company was very professional. Salesman was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Price was reasonable compared to some of its competitors. I like their lifetime guarantee and also the cost came with engineering reports and township permits, which they took care of. That was a bonus. The work was well performed, everything was taken care of in 1 day. I am happy with the outcome.

Safe-Guard was very prompt in responding to the request for an estimate and sent someone out within days of the initial contact. After a cursory survey of the house and surrounding area, the inspector proceeded to sit us down and inform us that our house was sinking into the ground. He pointed out as evidence the gap between our concrete porch and the house. He explained how foundation cracks come in threes and showed us the locations of them. He remarked at length about how this happens and his qualifications to detect this problem. He stated that it would cost $10,000 or more to install piers into the ground to raise up the house. He then stated that he would not recommend that this be done and did not provide a written estimate, rather that we just list the house as being "as is" when we list the house for sale, and state the foundation issues. This petrified us for days while we tried to come to terms with this horrible situation. It was not until I talked with multiple other foundation repair individuals, including a structural engineer, that I began to doubt the statements made by the Safe-Guard representative. I'm not sure why we given this scare tactic sales pitch, but it was not appreciated.

They gave me a quote right away and were professional. It seemed like their product was good. They weren't going to put in a beam, they were going put in a column. My overall experience with them was not good. Their pricing was too high for the work they said they would do.

Terrible, the problem i had one year ago, i still have today. I have about 4 gallons of water when it rains hard come in my basement and that is exactly what i had last year before the work was done. I had bad experience with another waterproofing company and Safe Guard assured me that this experience would be better and that they would guarnte that they will fix the leak. The basement only floods when there is a hard driving rain, this year it has only rained heavy twice - both times in August. I called Safe Jack and Bob the salesman who sold the job to me last year came out. He told me that they fixed part of my problem and the rest is something that they do not cover. He said the other water is coming in the threshold of the door and they do not cover that. I never was told when he sold me the job that if water was coming in the threshold that it would not be covered. I am out 3800.00 and my basement is still flooding. Safe Guard offered no help and tried to point out how it is not their responsibility. They said I should caulk the front threshold. If all I need was caulk, I don't know why the sold me a 3800.00 membrane.

They were knowledgeable and friendly. They explained everything that was going on. I am assuming that their price was reasonable though I did not get any other estimates.

Their prices were right around the same as the other companies. I would recommend them.

The experience was fine overall. They were detailed enough to look at the entire crack; they didn’t just pull back the drywall at a certain point. They made sure to fill the crack completely and we’ve had no problems with their work!

Overall, the experience was good. We have a lifetime guarantee on the floors. I was really happy with the service. We haven’t had any water damage since, so the work that they did seems to have solved the problem!

We do not own the home where the work was performs. However, we're in the process of purchasing it and the homeowners were willing to allow work to be performed while they still occupied the residence. The company was very respectful of the situations. They showed up on time, performed professional, and cleaned up well. They were very good about giving us information on the sump pump and foundation repairs.

John S Walsh is very responsive and efficient right form the beginning, understand my concern and problem, He comes for estimate and give me quote almost the same day. John is the owner of both Safe-Guard Basement Technologies, Inc. and Ram Jack Foundation Solution. I contact 4 to 5 contractors, John is the most efficient and responsive to all my questions. They sent out 4 people, very efficient, within one and a half day, all work completed.I am very satisfy with their work, Highly recommended.

From estimate to final agreement on price, SafeGuard were very thorough and competitive. Arrived when they said they would, completed the work on time. They run a tight ship. Crew were very professional on site. I felt like I got exactly what they said they would do for a fair price, quality was excellent.

Overall a good experience. A bit more mess than we anticipated. They did the work in November and then in February we got some seepage. They came right out and fixed the problem. It hasn't leaked since. We are happy.

They cleaned up after the job. They are very courteous and knew what they were doing. They stuck to the estimate that they gave originally. They were punctual and did great work. I have nothing bad to say about them. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Warren was our sales rep who provided the initial inspection and estimate. He diagnosed the source of our seepage problems within about five minutes of being on-site. He was a very down-to-earth person to work with and we appreciated his insight. The quote he provided was the exact price we paid. The work was scheduled within about a week and it took two days for the crew to excavate (by hand) and install the waterproofing and new drain tile. They cleaned up after themselves quite nicely...you could not tell they had been there. With all the rains we had over Memorial Day weekend and this past week, our basement is dry and we've had no recurring seepage issues. I called them based on their ratings here on Angie's List. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys for a job well done!

Tim was right on time and I could tell right away that he was well qualified for the job. He told me exactly what he was going to do and gave me the price. They crew was terrific and did a wonderful job. They explained everything thoroughly. This is a very professional company.

We had used a different service from this company in the past. Our salesman, Tim Denman, then and now, is excellent. He is very detail oriented and extremely conscientious in determining all the issues which goes a long way toward minimizing surprises when actual work is done. The crew themselves were also conscientious and hard working. 2 cracks had to be repaired from the outside of the wall resulting in substantial digging and removal of a window well (in the summer heat) to access the whole crack. 5 cracks were repaired from the interior, some of which required drywall to be removed. The foreman, Nick, was very careful to minimize the mess from those repairs. This company is extremely professional to work with.

They crew and everyone was great. The pricing was reasonable. We chose them since they offer a special on ram jacking in the garage and the other company did not do that work. The price they quoted was what we paid. They did a decent job. I would recommend to others.

Although we didn't use them, they did an excellent job of offering their services. They were first-class.

These people are a pleasure to deal with. The salesman knew what he was talking about, was aware of the local codes and very complete in his discription of the work/costs needed to do the job. I would recomend this company to anyone.

We couldn't really find out what the source of the leak was. They explained some options. I later figured out the problem was with the sump and a clogged drain.
