We had some water penetration in the detached garage. After we had that repaired, Mold Solutions came in to inspect the garage and noted a small amount of mold. They came out quickly, provided a great estimate for the work. Mold Solutions performed the work just a few days after I agreed to the estimate. They were very professional and thorough. Our garage looks much better now.

Brian showed up promptly on schedule. He briefly explained how mold contamination "works" and proceeded to inspect the finished family room in our basement and our crawl space. These areas have experienced periodic flooding and the woodwork had darkened in some areas over the years. We feared the worst! Brian reassured us that we actually had mold contamination only in one small place and indicated how we could remediate that small problem ourselves. We were impressed and appreciative of his honesty. We would definitely recommend this company to others and would use it ourselves if the need arose.

Terrible. They conveniently could not find our file and wanted $650 + to fix the problem.

Very professional. The man was running late (5 minutes), so he called me 5 minutes before he was supposed to arrive to tell me he'd hit traffic and would be 5 minutes late. I appreciated the heads up. He found no mold, but was very pleasant and didn't make me feel bad that he'd come out to our house for nothing. If we do have mold ever (which I hope we don't), I'd call them.

Upon deciding that our mold problem was a job for professionals, I looked on Angie's List for companies with 8 or more "A" ratings. I found Mold Solutions and two other companies. I called all three but only got a live person at Mold Solutions. The scheduler arranged for a visit/estimate for the next day. Below I will go over the following: Punctuality, Expertise, Quality, Professionalism, Trustworthiness: 1) Rich not only arrived on time, but also called first to alert me to his coming. 2) Workers arrived on time the following Wednesday, or couple of minutes early to start work. Quality: 1) As they worked I would receive phone calls if there were questions about what was ok to discard and what the workers should try to salvage. I also received daily phone calls from Rich providing me with a status updates, since I was out of town. 2) My husband had not been part of the initial discussions with Mold Solutions, but he was the one reviewing the work. He had questions regarding two items. Rich was confident that all was fine, but wanted to be sure, so Rich scheduled a post work evaluation. Rich even went as far as to retreat all exposed areas, just so that we would feel more comfortable. Expertise: 1) Rich reviewed the basement and agreed that we had a mold problem. But one that could be fixed. He supported this statement by: 1a) Mold Solutions offers a 10 year warranty for all materials they treat, even in the event of a future flood. The warranty is under written by the Microbe Guard, the manufacturer of the product. 2) After the work was complete, Rich walked me though a check list of what we needed to do over the weekend so that the second air testing would be most meaningful. Professionalism/patience: 1) Rich's demeanor kept me sane. He wasn't an alarmist and assured me the problem could be fixed. 2) I had so many questions regarding the process, which Rich answered thoroughly and patiently. I was able to explain the process to our home inspector the following day. I was also able to convince my husband that removing the mold ourselves was not only dangerous to him, but also not really that cost effective once you added in the cost of the equipment and materials we would need to use. (This information was confirmed via a third person professional also from Angie's List.) Trustworthiness: 1) Worked unsupervised: The job was completed while the whole family was out of town. The dogs were locked upstairs and the workers came and went with a key we left with a neighbor. 2) Dogs: We have two dogs. One who is defensive & aggressive. Rich let us take our time with a formal introduction on first visit and that would allow Rich to move freely within the house, without the dog freaking out. Thanks to Mold Solutions! I would use them again, but luckily we shouldn't have to.

After scheduling an inspection, Ed M. came on-site and inspected the mold in the attic (within 2 days of calling). He explained the mold and how it likely grew from a leaky gutter over the winter. He turned around a quote for the work (within 2 day). The price quoted was very reasonable for the proposed scope of work. I scheduled the company to do the work. The work required two visits (by Tim W. and his crew) and was completed within 7 days of calling to schedule (fast). All of the employees who came on-site were friendly, helpful, and professional. The mold has not returned (months). I would recommend Mold Solutions (Mokena, IL) to other homeowners.

Their representative, Tom Ballard, came to provide us with an estimate. He was on time and very easy to talk to and explained what the company would do to remove the mold. He sent me an estimate by e-mail and it had a clear explanation of their work. He also had noted that we had about 880 square feet of mold in the attic. This matched our measurement. It was not inflated as a prior contractor had done to the tune of 1,600 square feet. The company requested a 50% deposit before starting work and after we sent them a check Tom called and we set a date and time for the work. The person who did the work arrived on time and I gave him a key so that he could return for the second part of the work. He did and left an invoice and our key. The attic looks like it did when we moved in. We are pleased with the work.

I received my estimate from Tom Ballard, Matt showed up a few days later to expedite the service and Tom returned a few days later to make sure everything was completed. Sounds great so far, huh? Well, this is where my nightmare began... I was assured by Tom, that within 7-10 day after receipt of payment, my 10 yr. warranty would arrive in the mail. Six weeks pass and I call and leave a message about the warranty. No one responds to my initial call, so I call again and Ed, a coworker, says my order must pass through "corporate"(what ever that means). Ok, that sounds official so I assume I'll receive something within the next 7-10 days. Over the next few months, I called and emailed and was told by the afore- mentioned men "the warranty was in the mail or it must pass through corporate or I mailed it personally last week but if nothing shows up in 2 days. I'll hand deliver it on Friday," IF it was mailed!! There should be no reason to bring it to me if it was mailed. What happened to "corporate"? Why, all of a sudden, is this warranty available to hand deliver? Tom lamented about how busy they are, they moved their office, he has to coach his sons games. I am not a heartless person, which is why I let this situation go on for four months, but ENOUGH is ENOUGH. This make me wonder if ANY service was performed, therefore, they do not owe me a warranty. Why was my $910.00 check cashed? I notified the B.B.B. the other day so we will see what happens. Too many questions and NO answers.

I received a phone call right away and Tom came by himself within a week to do the inspection. I had concerns about mold growth on my wood windows and wanted to make sure the problem didn't permeate through the whole house. Tom inspected the windows and went into the attic as well. He did not find any major problems and indicated that the minor ones I did have could be easily remedied. He was honest in saying that providing his services for the remediation would be overkill. He did not charge me a dime but spent quite a bit of time talking to me about specific items that I should address in my home to minimize the mold I was seeing. You don't get "free estimates" like this very often nowadays! He even referred me to a wood specialist who could help me refinish my mold-damaged wood. Definitely give him a call if you have any concerns about mold in your home!

I was very pleased. Their price was way lower than everyone else's so I was skeptical at first, but they did a remarkable job.

Because the people were living in the home, they came out the same day and were finished 2 days later. All very clean and professional.

The process went very well. Ed was very prompt at arriving for the estimate and testing. He thoroughly examined our attic where we knew that we had a problem and identified other areas. He informed us of the steps that we should take to correct the cause of the problem (improve attic ventilation and repair a leak in the soffit). It took us a few weeks to find a contractor to fix the soffit leak and Ed was very proactive to call us and check-in to ensure that everything was going OK. The testing cost $450. The removal of the mold and application of a mold preventative cost $2670.

GREAT! They arrived on time, communicated clearly about what they thought needed to be done, answered dozens of questions, worked with me on the overall price, and even were gracious when I missed one of our appointments. I met three of their employees and all were friendly and efficient. I would be happy to recommend them to others.
