I had an excellent experience using Kelvin. Paul, the owner is very responsive to questions and altering plans as needed. I would highly recommend him.

I am really unhappy with Kelvin Company.
First, the good. The work is good. The gentlemen who showed up to dig my pathway and pour the concrete were professional, quick - clean up was great. At the end, it looked like the pathway had just always been there and there was little evidence that they had been there.
My problem with Kelvin is the time schedule that they operate on and the front office interactions.
This job was, and should have been really easy. A monkey could have installed this walkway if they had access to a cement mixer. After reviewing the site, Paul took 1 week to get me a quote. On the quote, he offered me a cheaper rate if I signed a contract and combined with work he was doing in the neighborhood. The problem, however, is that by the time he got me the quote and I had time to get a permit, that job was already gone.
No cheaper rate for me. And I had already signed a contract. When I asked about it, he essentially blamed me for not acting fast enough.
4 weeks after signing a contract, a crew shows up (unannounced) to dig a pathway. And they dug in the wrong spot. We actually wanted to push the walkway closer to the house, but they didn't know this and dug where they thought it should go. Consequence: I had to cut some major tree roots we were trying to avoid.
During the pre-pour inspection, Kelvin failed because they put down 1 inch of gravel instead of the standard 4 inches. Looking at my contract, I was paying for 4 inches. When questioned, Kelvin said they didn't want to have to cut more tree roots and wanted me to call the inspector to appeal.
After I had them give me what I payed for, the walkway passed inspection and the concrete was poured within 1 day. The forms were taken off the next day. And it looks great.
3 weeks later - I"m still waiting for a final inspection, but am getting phone calls to pay my invoice. An invoice I've never received.
Kelvin's front office is ridiculously and utterly, completely ill prepared to deal with people. They have no idea how to speak to their customers nor answer inquiries in a timely manner.
Perhaps this is because I was a small job and not worth their timely care - but every customer is a voice.
I would NEVER hire them and encourage anyone considering their lower prices as an indication of a deal to consider the old adage - you get what you pay for.

I have used them for two winters now; they plow my small drive and shovel our sidewalks. I find them to be responsive and fair. They have been both reliable (when it snows, they show, without fail) and careful with our property and landscaping. The service works simply: each fall I notify them that I would like them to cover us for the season and indeed they do so--coming with the first snow and finishing with the last of each of the past two winter seasons (@December-March). They charge per plow--which is, in my book, the fairest way to go to both them as a company and us as consumers.

Poor communication! I was told the project would start in 4-6 weeks. I
called after 6 weeks and was told it would be another 2 weeks. There
were a few additions/changes on the project and on two of the changes I was
verbally quoted one price and then billed another higher price.

Paul and his crew were awesome! I live in 1905 farmhouse and the concrete floor in the laundry room was cracking and popping up in places. Paul was very responsive in coming over and giving me a very reasonable quote. They started the day after labor day by demoing the floor. They found that I didn't have a vapor barrier, so they did that, plus they used rebar. They poured the floor and everything was done in one day! The crew was very courtesy and they cleaned up as they went along on the job. The also returned the next day to hook my washer and dryer back up. Paul Bonyton and his crewed rocked it!

Responded quickly to a request for quotation. Wrote an easy to read and all inclusive proposal. Came out with his own trucks, heavy equiptment and enough men to do the complete job in three and a half days. The half day ws spent taking out boards and filling in the void with black dirt and putting back the chunks taken out. very nice job from start to finish.

Outstanding experience. Quick response on inquiry, very accommodating on requests, provided good recommendations and explanations of the work, performed work very efficiently with sizable crew, and good oversight and follow-up during concrete curing. Don't hesitate to use this contractor for any size project.

The entire job took five work days over two consecutive weeks, primarily because of the village inspector's limited availability. The weather was brutally hot (mid-90's). The crew was friendly and cooperative, careful to accommodate our need (and our dogs' needs) to enter and exit. They kept us informed about what they would be doing where and when. The owner, Paul Boynton, was very accessible before and during the work period, answering our questions and offering suggestions when requested. We paid him 50% when the work started and the balance when it was completed.
Overall we were quite satisfied with the quality of the work. Besides having to remove and re-install the gas grill, they crew had to essentially and quot;work aroundand quot; an existing chain link fence that separates the driveway from the rear patio area. They were careful to properly align the expansion joints with the fence. More than two months later the only defect that I have noticed is a very slight dip in one small area of the driveway, resulting in slower water drainage after rain. However, after a couple of hours it's fine.

They delivered exactly as expected. The slab was perfect. And the sidewalk portions needed to keep water away from the house, and they did a great job. I'd recommend them for any small to medium job, I don't know much about how they do with big jobs, but they were good with communication and execution all around. Thanks

They were very prompt and very courteous. I had a couple of broken concrete slabs in my driveway. Every winter as soon as the water flowed into the lowest slab it would start to melt and there would be a big sheet of ice there. They installed a French drain which is something I had never heard of. They put a pipe in the ground, a little crossline and 5-gallon containers in the pipe to take care of the water drainage. They were very good and appropriately priced too.

Great professional staff, very punctual, attention to detail. They even came back after the job was done to further clean the area by sweeping the floor. Job was done to expectations with no problems in scheduling.
