Randy came out when he said he would, and finished the job more quickly than he promised. Since then, we've noticed that the bedrooms are holding temperatures much better at night than before his work was done. So as of now it seems that Randy correctly identified the issue and addressed it directly, and we're very happy with the overall experience. I'll definitely be calling Paragon in the future if I have any other insulation needs.

They worked very hard and got the job done quickly. Randy and his crew are very nice and personable. I had read on a previous post before hiring that this was the best service someone had received from a contractor and I'd agree. Don't hesitate to hire them, you won't regret it.

The job went extremely well. Randy is a great person to work with and I am extremely glad I hired him to insulate my rim joists with foam. Spray foam is an interesting animal, some companies online actually sell "do-it-yourself" kits for rim joists. After watching Randy I realized what a massive mistake a "do-it-yourself" kit would have been. Randy showed up on time, did an extremely professional job that looks flawless, was done in a couple of hours and left no mess. He even asked me if there were any areas I felt needed more foam when he was done before he put the spray gun away. After he cleaned up he pulled out his thermal imaging camera to go over his work. Hard to give the guy anything less than top ratings, he really knows spray foam.

I recently moved into a house with almost no insulation in the attic. I called Randy to come out and give me an estimate based on blowing 16" of cellulose to an R64. I also needed attic baffles installed and to air seal my attic. Randy's quote was very competitive and he knew his stuff. Randy and Mike came out on the scheduled date right on time. They did a great job completing the job. Randy had initially estimated 75 bags of cellulose for my attic but due to the lack of insulation they ended up going through some extra bags of insulation but did not charge me for them. Overall they were fast, efficient, and very experienced. I will be using them again when I insulate my basement and crawlspace. Thanks again Randy and Mike!

Randy and Mike from Paragon did an great job from start to finish, they called on Sunday to confirm our Monday appointment, and showed up in the agreed window on Monday. When they came inside they asked about taking off their shoes, and moving rugs so they didn't step on and possibly dirty them. We then went to show and walk thru the job. They explained what they would do and we did a bit of game planning to minimize any snow or dirt in the house. They were very agreeable and if there were more than a couple of drops of snow, I didn't notice them. They installed baffles in the attic and then started with the insulation. I provided a few blankets to protect our molding from the hose but honestly, it was likely not necessary. The job is quiet, and they finished in several hours. It was low impact as far as big projects go. Our attic access is in a closet, and I covered the shelves with a sheet which saved me 5 minutes of vacuuming in the end. There were a few floaters of insulation around the traffic way, but that was to be expected since I asked for extra insulation around the attic access, we easily cleaned them up with a vacuum. All in all it went better than I hoped for, our attic is insulated, and feel we got a great value. Before, During and After Pics attached.

Our storefront office has always had serious problems with the back offices being extremely cold. This is because the walls were not insulated. In March this year, Randy came out and brilliantly realized that the back office was so cold was not only because there was no insulation in the walls, but also because the two apartments above the front office kept the heat in, but the back office didn’t have that, so the heat escaped through the ceiling. He suggested spraying foam insulation into the ceiling above the drop ceiling, which we had him do. The results were very good, but because the walls weren’t insulated, we had him return and spray fiberglass insulation into the walls. Now with the ceiling and walls insulated, the back of our office was warm, comfortable, and no drafts! What a huge difference! When Randy came out for the estimate, I asked him if I should cover everything, and said no, that there would just be a light dusting of the particles, and they would easily come off and eventually wear off. But this wasn’t the case at all. The “dusting” turned out to be like snow. And because the particles were extremely small and didn’t just rub off, they had to be scraped off with a razor blade. We were happy that the back office was now warm but we were extremely dissatisfied that the ceiling spray foam particles got over everything: desks, books, computer monitor, phones, carpet, pens & pencils, door knobs, a framed picture on the wall, and even our gardening equipment. The foam also seeped out onto the outside of the ceiling tile grid frames, so you can see it when you look at the ceiling. I scraped the particles off our desks, computer monitor and phone so we could use them, the residue did not come off the monitor or section of the phone. On April 15, I called Randy and explained the problem. He said it could only be scraped off with a credit card or razor blade. He said that he didn’t have 5,000 feet of plastic to cover everything. I asked if there was a solvent to remove it, and he said no. He said that he’d come out the next week to take care of it. He did not come. I’ve called three times, and two times I left messages. He has not called back. Randy is the insulation expert, and we feel that cleaning up and leaving a spotless area when the job is finished is as important as getting the insulation done. If Randy had covered everything with plastic, this problem would not have happened. Incidentally, I called another insulation contractor to ask if they cover everything when they do a ceiling job, and the person said, “Yes, we would cover things, and depending on access, some things would have to be moved. We cover things because you don’t want to get spray foam on everything.” We would like Randy to come back and scrape off the foam & foam particles from everywhere, and repair & repaint the walls that get damaged after he scrapes the foam off them.

I called to have Paragon come to my home and give a quote. We scheduled a time. He did not show and I did not receive a phone call to let me know. I called him back and he apologized and we rescheduled. He did not show the second time and I did not even receive a call. Don't waste your time chasing him.

Randy showed up on time and prepared his equipment to do the job. Randy explained the process and the approximate amount of time the job was going to take. Randy completed the job in a very clean and punctual manner. Randy made as few of cuts into our already existing material in order to lower cost of patch work etc. Overall, Randy was beyond fair with his price and did an outstanding job given the tight area that he had to work with.

Very professional, first visit provided inspection, review, options, recommendations. Cost options sent via email promptly. Pricing was reasonable. Was able to schedule quickly. Crew courteous, professional, took care to minimize disruption, dust. Would definitely highly recommend.

The work lasted from 9am till about 3pm. There was a modest break in-between because he ran out of foam supplies. The job turned out being a bit larger than originally anticipated. Randy confidently quoted the job over the phone and upon site visit, the day work was scheduled, a modest and acceptable re-negotiation of price was agreed upon because the size of the job turned out to be larger than planned. Randy is very knowledgable and is a consummate professional. His crew was very cordial, they broom swept and cleaned up after themselves. Randy accommodated room in the spray foam for any potential extra low voltage wiring that may be required to be installed. His phone quote was very slightly lower than his field quote and overall a good value for the result. I believe Randy is able to provide a competitive lower cost solution being the owner and installer - he has no sales overhead. He is also very pleasant to work with. It was about 100 def F or more in the room and there was no complaining. Randy and I reviewed his work upon completion and his craft resulted in a quality job well done. I paid by check the agreed amount same day work was completed. He does accept cc with a slight surcharge for those wanting to get the cc reward points. Thank you Randy and crew for a very fine job. Paragon was great. They came out to review what was needed, gave a quote for all services on the spot and quickly scheduled a time to have the services performed. They were on time, professional, cleaned up completely after they were through and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend and use them in the future.

From the first phone call, Randy was responsive, pleasant, professional and informative. He and his crew came and eliminated the problem I had in one area of my basement, and I was very happy with the service and the results. However, I found another area that was a big problem (freezing draft), and called Randy to take a look. He came out the SAME DAY and explained what was going on, fixed the problem and charged a reasonable fee for such immediate and excellent service. I would not hesitate to use Paragon again or recommend them to anyone with an insulation problem. I wish all service providers were this good!

Randy came bright and early as he said he would. Went right to work(it was a big job). He finished the entire project in one day. I plan on Randy comming back to do some insulation work for me this fall. He takes great pride in the work he does. So glad I found him on Angies list.

First I'd like to say that I like Randy because I think he accurately suggested how much insulation we should have installed. That is, he was HONEST. He could have tried to up-sell easily, but he didn't. Thank you Randy! The insulation in our attic was about half what current code says it should be (even though that's ok, we wanted more) and there were some blank areas above the bathrooms where other handymen had installed exhaust fans and not covered them back up. Randy roughly doubled our insulation, making sure all areas were well covered. He also added insulation above our garage, which previously had zero insulation, as well as putting up wall insulation on the one short wall that is shared by the garage-attic space and a bedroom. They were fast, efficient and friendly. He did not recommend anything overboard, just what we would likely want to be well insulated here in north Chicagoland. (I wish he had cleaned up the white attic-access panel, which has black fingerprints on it) but everything else he cleaned up well such that we didn't have to come behind him and vacuum anything. And for what it's worth, he even put insulation on the upper side of the access panel itself.

I called for am estimate, it turned out they were just finishing a job nearby so they stopped by my house to give me an estimate. The price quoted to me by Randy was significantly less than a NiCor recommended contractor (almost by half as much). I agreed and they did the job right then and there. It took them about an hour to finish. I asked Randy about a recommended additional insulation the NiCor contractor recommended (at additional cost as well). Randy told me he could do the additional insulation as well but that it really wasn't necessary, if I wasn't happy with how well it was working he could always come back for anything additional.

Removed wet insulation and then replaced and added insulation to bring up to code. Hoping this helps with ice damming and water problems in the winter. Put N/A on quality as we won't know until we get cold weather. Overall, easy to work with and quick response time. Would highly recommend.

Paragon did a very thorough job of installing some additional insulation. Randy was very knowledgeable. responsive and professional. He explained the work and went above and beyond to fix some damaged areas. Randy also does seal coating. I was very pleased with this work as well, especially since it was the first seal coating on my new driveway. He did an excellent job and I have given his name to others who have stated how great the driveway looks. Thanks, Randy!

We purchased a new tiny 1950's home and the attic had very little insulation.. Randy was VERY honest and helpful on how to solve our issue! He treated our home as if it were his own!! The guys did a great job installing and didnt seemed rushed or eager to leave to the next job. They sat and explained everything they did.. Id use them again in a heart beat!!

He was very prompt to respond both for coming out for a quote and scheduling the insulation, he also went over all the different options and was straight forward about recommendations. I would recommend Paragon again. It was a good experience with a small business owner, and it was nice not having to work with some big corporation that would have had no attention to detail.
