They came by to show me various bamboo samples, ordered the ones that matched, and then had Tim come out to perform the install. Tim made something like 10 cuts per step to the bamboo, on a total of 13 steps (including three angled steps). The craftsmanship was excellent and Tim completed the work over three days, not rushing anything. My guess is they get a lot of carpet requests due to the business name, but I hope by word-of-mouth some more hardwood work comes their way. I'm a fairly picky business owner who hires a lot of contractors. This is my first "A" review on Angie's.

Top notch service from A to Z. Mike came out and provided an estimate and really took the time to educate us on the carpets and their care. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. His was punctual and provided a quote via email the next day. Their price beat the pants off their competitors for the same quality product. The install was scheduled the same week. The crew arrived on time, were incredibly professional, did a fantastic job, and cleaned up before they left. We were very happy with the whole process. I highly recommend these guys and would use them again. It's no surprise they've been in business for over three decades!

I really needed new carpet, but kept putting it off because money is really tight right now.From the moment I walked into Windy City carpet, I knew I had to replace the old stained dirty carpet. They were very professional. The service was outstanding. Everything was better than expected. I would use them again, and would highly recommend them to friends and family.

The owner was great to work with. He gave me an estimate over the phone and was able to schedule my install the next day. He was on time, quick, and very friendly. He was even very quiet (my son was napping while he was working). I would definitely call them in the future for any flooring needs.

I went by the store to inquire about pricing and look through their samples. The woman working was helpful and friendly, and arranged for someone to visit my house for measurements / estimate. This was done promptly --- I believe it may have even been the same day or next day. (They had an incorrect phone number for me, so the installer actually came right to the house to see if I was home!) The estimate was reasonable. As soon as the carpeting was in and trimmed, the installation was scheduled. The workmen were friendly and efficient. No complaints, start to finish. I would use them again in the future. I like to try to give business to these smaller stores (as opposed to big box ...Home Depot, etc.) whenever I can. I was pleased to have chosen Windy City.

Everthing went smoothly from the initial measuring and selection process to the completion of the installation.

Once I finally was able to schedule a time, the work was done very well. There were a few instances trying to get it scheduled (they have to do the work during the week and they showed up at my house when an appointment had been assumed to be scheduled).

They were excellent and very responsive. They had no problem giving me an estimate.

It went great they did a fabulous job. The price was as promised. They were on time.

I live in California and needed to install carpet in Chicago rental condo ASAP. Received prompt, personal service from Mike and Marlene. Mike coordinated schedule with my tenants and got me an estimate quickly. He then coordinated with tenants for installation and kept me up-to-date.

Is your proverbial mom and pop shop ( i mean this is a great way!) ---was estimated asap---price and selection good---no pressure----the installers were not subs---very professional---did a great job---Marlene followed up with a delivery of a piece of bound carpet ---made it all very easy----its was picture perfect from start to finish

I called on a Monday, I had an estimate on Tuesday and installation done on Friday. We had two different areas we needed work done. We have just moved into an older vintage house and had worries of what was under the carpet. We had torn up part of the basement carpet and had discovered all was fine and we had more carpet to replace and repair the 7ft by 3ft tear. We needed someone to fit the tear with the replacement and have the seam not be seen. Our second issue is we have a 13 yr old lab that would not go down the 6 steps to the backdoor of the house due to his vision going and nails slipping. We had been carrying his 75lb for 7 days down the steps every time he needed to go out. We also have a 16 month old that likes to climb up and down the steps to go outside and into the basement. I needed the carpet on those steps to help the dog and the baby and our sanity for fear of one of them slipping and falling. I had an original return phone call from Windy City asking if Thursday morning was okay. I had suggested that I really was hoping for something sooner and Mike changed his schedule and came out after their store closed in the middle of rush hour on Tuesday. It was a quick estimate and I was told that if I decided to go ahead with the job, Mike could do it Friday. After Mike arrived on Friday, I had to carry the dog down the steps, after an hour of him installing the carpet I turned to see the dog happily trotting down the steps to the outside. I almost started to cry! The job was beyond perfect, so much care was taken. They were wrapped and look beautiful. The repair in the basement you would never know. There is absolutely no evidence that we had ripped and entire section out. My daughter has been climbing up and down the stairs for hours and loves them almost as much as we do. I'm so appreciative for them being so quick after I explained the urgency in the matter. Their cost was minuscule compared to what they could have charged and Mike's professionalism and punctuality were second to none. I would hire them in a heartbeat and am thrilled there are still contractors out there that are truly wonderful people. We are very happy to have found them.

Very nice installation work in kitchen, especially given the age of home. Carpet work - outstanding and seamless. Carpet crew however gets a C for cleanliness. Thus, the B grade below in professionalism.

They were recommended by our General Contractor. Marlene was very friendly and helpful. She was very prompt in her response and always knew what she was doing from the time we were in the store to setting up scheduling. The carpet came quickly and they were able to accommodate our schedule. The installers were on time, professional and did a great job. This was our first time purchasing carpet and we would go out of our way to purchase from them again.

I called him four or five days before Christmas. I explained that I had company coming for Christmas and needed help. He came by that same day, about forty mins later, and pulled the carpet out. He cleaned it and turned it into an area rug for me. He did a beautiful job and only charged me 100 dollars. He is very busy.

They were able to order and install new carpeting for our condo very quickly. They were happy to wait until we'd moved out so that there was no furniture, had no problem with them getting into the building and getting the work done as they are very proactive with contacting us. they also contacted the management office. Had our Realtor send us pictures of the job, very nicely done!
