Red Architects

This was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had with any business. We hired red to provide AS IS drawings for the coach house. It took them 4 months. There was no design involved, or back and forth about where outlets/light switches will go, or anything other than very simple drawings for a 1000sq ft coach house. 4 months. The first month was spent just trying to get them to come to the property and measure, after I had already paid 1/2 of the estimate. When they finally measured, I asked for timelines for the rest of the process. They blew through every deadline and never once called/emailed to explain why. I would call and ask for updates after they missed deadlines, but they would never call back. When I finally spoke to the owner, Victor, he just laughed off the repeated delays and said the he had tasked the person working on my project on something else with a tight deadline. I guess not all customers are worthy of that same consideration. Avoid at all costs.

They were plainspoken, straight-forward, and understandable-- unlike a couple of others I talked to. During initial meeting addressed important issues including pulling permits, contractors, necessities verses options, and more. Overall gave me a much clearer understanding of the whole project. Answered my major concerns/questions. No problem talking to them about buying basic services from them with the potential of paying for extras, and what extra services might be worth the money to me. Came across as more honest and with a better appreciation of my potential budget than other architects I spoke to. If you are considering a remodeling project I would recommend you talk to them. There were friendly and responsive. They do come out when your building the project to see it. I do feel however that they could be more detailed with thier drawings.
